Hello! I'm trying to translate some simple sentences (I'm still very new to Korean) from Rosetta Stone but something confused me. Sadly, that program doesn't do a very good job at explaining grammar, particles, and endings...

So! What is the difference between
있어요
and
있으세요

I know 있어요 is for possession, or to have/exist, but... What about 있으세요? Is there any significant difference??

For example, this sentence says "선생님은 빨간색 꽃이 있으세요."

Thanks!! ^_^

edit;
Never mind, I think I have the answer now. smile

Just in case someone else stumbles into this post like I did. xd

-어/아요: polite ending form
Used usually for people you just met around your age and are not yet intimate to use intimate form (-어/아).

-(으)세요: honorific form
Used usually for people older than you or of higher status such as teachers, parents and etc. While using honorific form, you also have to memorize another set of words that correspond with this form. For example: 있다 ---> 계시다.

exclaim I am not 100% since I'm just saying this from the top of my head and I'm not a native speaker hahahaha... sweatdrop However, if a native speaker can confirm if this is correct or not, that would be great. ninja
