At the swearing, Arach quickly backed away from the structure's opening, frowning. Had he made an error in coming here? As his tail flicked against the wood again, he realized his mistake and moved away from the wall as well. He had woken up whoever had cursed. Maybe if he was quiet, they'd fall back asleep.

Kessling glared at her nephew, "What made that noise? I have a headache."
Ah that was why she was so grumpy. D'rei nodded at the door.
Kess dragged herself up and tiptoed to the door and stuck her head out. "Hey you! In or out...Scamp." Kess stomped back into the building.
D'rei decided that it wasn't his brother out there due to his step moms invitiation...if it could be called that.

Arach froze again when the strange mare poked her head and and spoke to him. He hesitantly crept forward and through the door, unsure of what to expect from the structure. It was full of what looked like dried-out grass... and there was his uncle. He dipped his head in wordless greeting, unsure if he should speak of the matters which they discussed in the forest in front of the strange mare. That, and he was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that he was in a human structure that seemed to be created for non-human residents.

Kess walked back to her pile of straw, huffed and settled in, growling about interuptions and not enough sleep, and sunshine amoung other pesky things.
D'rei sniffled a snort and nodded back at his nephew. "Your father is not going to follow you right? I don't mind you but I don't think he would like to find you here with me. I deserted them long ago because I did not like what they did, I have not spoken to any of them since saving our father. And I do not look forward to that meeting."

Arach thought about the question. "It is unlikely unless I am gone for a period of time exceeding 6 hours." He tilted his head. "But I do not comprehend your apprehension about meeting my father. He has not interacted with his family members since that time either, if I interpreted his words correctly. Furthermore, as he has taught me not to attack unless attacked, I doubt he would feel the need to strike you unless you proved hostile towards him."

D'rei tilted his head. "Really? He has not spoken to them since? I never thought that another would leave as I did, has he...has he been well?"
"They are still my family after all, I wish it had not blown up like it did but it was a hard, wrong life. He has taught you well then."

"I do not believe so," Arach replied. "But I am unsure. I know he has mentioned that he does not have good ties with his family, but he doesn't speak about them or himself. He did give my siblings and I a warning to be cautious around those with spikes like our own. I'm assuming your family members would be the reason for that." He nodded to D'reighton's question. "He appears stressed at times, but he is well enough, I think. He is most comfortable around Mother. I believe she makes him happy." Emotions were more of Nick's forte, but he at least could guess at the emotions by their expressions and body language.
Arach tilted his head. "Blown up?" The colt couldn't help but be curious. An opportunity to learn about his father and his family... "A hard, wrong life?"
