Was he...laughing at him? Nkole felt enraged to have a barbarian such as this one laugh at him. To add insult to injury he then proclaimed he would 'try harder' next time. NEXT TIME? Next time it may be with his dagger at his throat. Growling he wanted to insert that threat and was about to when the stranger announced a list of things he should be looking out for. The way he made it out was that this entire forest...could kill you.

"what...are Menzuri?" He ventured as the other seemed to think it was the most dangerous of things. Of course he was thrown when the man warned him about his own people...and then there was a light bulb. This guy...was blind wasn't he? It would explain why he was being so nice to him, despite his weapon being pointed at him. And given that he was being warned to watch out for the Oban Military he took this opportunity to...gather a bit of information.

"The...Oban military? I haven't run across any encampments...thanks for the warning though. Have you seen any?" Nkole feigned realizing that the man was blind, and couldn't help but feel the need to trail this man, after all him being blind meant he could gather information with more ease than normal.

He approached in a slow manner trying not to change his mannerisms too much to seem like something was up. "I have someone to find. My sister, so I can't be too long with you...?" He ventured for a name, perhaps if he was on more friendly terms with this fellow he could use him.

"What are they? Really big, venomous, crystal spiders or so I gather. I haven't had to deal with them myself which is good, I am told that they are something that can kill quite easily." He gave a little shiver just thinking about it. The last thing he wanted to do was deal with something as dangerous as that, especially not on his own. At least this guy was around though, right? He could help out if they happened across anything terrifying or dangerous... or so he hoped. Did he even have a weapon? He assumed he did since whatever it was kept getting pointed Makani's way, as for what sort of weapon he couldn't really say.

Makani gave a soft laugh then said, "Can't say that I have see any of them or their encampments. I am just told that they are still waiting out there, looking for their chance to strike." He gave sighed a little then, "I would rather they went home though, there was so much damage the last time both armies met." It was a mess... so many injured, so many dead, he'd done all that he could, was still trying to do what he could, but he was no miracle worker. He hoped that it would all be over soon so that they could just go back to what they should be doing, that being entertaining people, not patching them up. Shaking his head he forced a smile back to his face, "Sorry, sorry."

"Oh? You have a sister too? I hope that you find her soon, it's far too dangerous for her to be out there alone." He murmured, not liking the idea that his sister might be lost somewhere, "Hm? Oh! How rude of me, my name is Makani, and you are?"

Large crystal ...spiders? Alright well they didn't sound too bad, well okay they sounded pretty awful but he wasn't going to admit that to his enemy. It was perhaps more interesting to listen to what Makani had to say about the Oban army.

"Looking for a chance?" he mused finding it all too amusing, then again he had yet to find a encampment so he really didn't have any idea what their plans were yet, "I suppose that it was happens with wars. There are sacrifices to be made." Nkole absently echo'd his fathers words, when he had questioned keeping the Oban forces where they were.

When he asked about his sister he nodded his head slightly, though he knew that she could hold her own he couldn't help but be annoyed with her extended absence.

"We had planned to meet up but I can't seem to find her, I am sure she is fine though." Giving an annoyed look, despite the fact Makani couldn't see him. When asked for his name he wondered if he should bother lying to him, the likeliness of him running into the man again was slim, so was there any real harm in giving his name?

"Nkole." He replied finally, though perhaps he took a bit long replying to the question. Taking in the sights he was trying to make sure he would remember where they were going. It would be important information for later on. Though he should probably get the heck out of here before they were too close to town.

"Which town are we headed to? I am new to this area."

Makani gave a slight wince, "I suppose so, it doesn't mean that we should be so willing to sacrifice though, not when its lives that are being lost." He didn't much care for the idea of others losing their lives for a war he didn't really understand, "I will be glad when it's over, I don't care for the idea of anyone else being hurt, I've healed more then my fair share of wounded already." He added, giving a shake of his head, still able smell the blood, to feel it, as well as the sounds of the wounded. It was something that he'd rather not think about... hell, he'd much rather think about anything else, Menzuri included.

Once he'd cleared his mind he turned his attention back to companion, "Ahh, sisters can be difficult, I know this from experience. Mine is especially tough to deal with at times, especially when it comes to getting her own way." Stubborn, hard headed, and as easy to move as a boulder. You have the same sort of problems with yours? Or am I just especially lucky with mine?" He asked with a little smile.

As the other man introduced himself Makani perked up a bit, "Nkole? It's nice to meet you then Nkole." An interesting name, not to mention he had an interesting aura about him. He couldn't help but to be curious about him. Was he a warrior, perhaps? A magic wielder? Something else that he hadn't run across yet? He couldn't help but to wonder before he found Nkole asking him about where they were heading, "New to the area, huh? That can be tough, we are heading for Neued. It's a nice place aside from the occasional fires..."

New information. The man was a healer. Now Nkole was wondering if he should kidnap the man. Being that he was blind it wasn't as if he would have to try all that hard right? Of course if he went missing though someone was bound to go look for him. And that someone was probably the sister he mentioned.

"Well I wouldn't say problems, we had agreed to meet outside of our town and I havn't been able to find her since then. " Nkole lamented in an annoyed tone, and a tinge of worry. He couldn't say he was terribly worried about her, the girl was clever and tough and the reason most of their cons actually worked.

"Yeah...we live pretty far from here, so this is my first time to the forest." He managed as he went about noting the name of the town they were headed towards. Yes it was probably a good idea that he separate from the magic user now, but how was the best way of doing it?

"Fires?" Nkole was caught off guard. The town was suffering from fires? Was it the Oban army? "Is it the army causing..the fires?" Nkole inquired as this meant the army wouldn't be too far if it was.

"Maybe she got a little lost or something? I would say that given how closed in the trees feel in this place and how numerous they are that it's something that can happen a lot to people." The forest of Jauhar was quite intimidating in a way but at least he had started to get the hang of it, or at least the path between the river and Neued. Given that he was often in charge of fetching water, something that even a blind man could do, it was a path he'd walked before. Giving Nkole a reassuring smile he said, "If you like we can ask the guards of Neued if they have seen your sister." He might not have seen her himself but maybe someone had?

When Nkole mentioned living 'pretty far from here' he gave a smile, "Heh, really? Me too! I came here all the way from Zena with my sister's troupe. It was quite a journey but we wanted to help where we could." A shame that things hadn't turned out the way that everyone had hoped they'd turn out, that being them driving the Obans back to their own country.

"Oh... I can't say exactly, I wasn't present for much more then healing a friend in the aftermath. If it was the Oban army those in charge are keeping it hushed. I can understand though, people are still so on edge and knowing that they are tormenting the town by lighting it ablaze would probably decrease morale that much more." He explained, certain that the place would only end up that much more morose knowing that the Obans were toying with them in such a way.

At the mention of Zena he recalled his father mention a scouting party was being sent into the mountains. Perhaps it would be their next place to dominate. Though why they would want to take over such a place was beyond him. Wasn't there just snow there? His mind was distracted when the blind one continued on mentioning that the place was set ablaze and how it could of been the Oban army but it was hard to say.

Swallowing he felt that perhaps he should be leaving...as much as he wanted to scout the area and get a better look at the place he would stick out like a sore thumb to those who could see.

"You have a sister too huh?" He asked trying to sound interested though he was only getting more and more nervous as they got closer to town. "A troupe? So...what do you guys do exactly?" What could a blind man do in a troupe other than be a side show attraction? He was a pretty good looking man..perhaps...he used his body?

He gave Makani a look that he was glad he couldn't see before he looked away. That was.. a disturbing thought.

Makani nodded, "Yeah, she can be a bit difficult to deal with at times but over all she's a really wonderful person. I am sure she'd like you." He could only assume so since the one he was chatting with was a guy and a nice one at that. There really was no reason for Eira not to enjoy talking to him. He knew he shouldn't admit it but he was a bit impressed by her ability to get men to do most anything she wanted them to do. He was sure if he pulled the 'blind card' he might be able to as well but he was sort of the opposite as Eira in that way. She liked to get others to do her work for her where as Makani enjoyed trying to do work on his own. It was a little more difficult given his lack of vision but he felt that he was doing fairly well today. If only he knew.

Giving a thoughtful sound he seemed to think about that question, "Well, the troupe is an entertainment group at its core. Various people with various talents performing for the entertainment of others. At least that is what it's supposed to be. Due to the war though we seem to be doing more in the way of relief work. Looking after the patients, keeping them in good spirits, that sort of thing." He explained, then gave a soft sigh, "I look forward to when we can be a normal troupe again if only because that will mean that the war is over. It will be nice I think." If he never had to tend to a wounded soldier again after the war he'd be a happy man.

Turning to where he sensed his companion to be he said, "I should probably make the offer, huh? If you have any interesting talents, singing, dancing, musical instruments, maybe acrobatics or the like, something fun or interesting, you should chat with my sister. You never know, she might hire you on." He didn't have a lot in the way of influence over who she hired but this guy seemed nice enough, if he had a talent or knew some good tricks Eira might let him join.

Nkole couldn't help but stare at Makani a long moment. Was he being invited to join...a traveling troupe? He wanted to laugh, in fact he almost did and he had to cover up his laugh a cough. Now wouldn't that be a sight? Him in a traveling group doing dances or singing....the mental thought was...something that made him want to just die laughing. Though deep down secretly he was intrigued.

If he did join such a thing that meant he wouldn't have to go home and face the music, he wouldn't have to be the 'good boy' and wouldn't have to deal with learning his father's trade. Though he would still have to locate his sister, after all she had the stolen goods on her...

"I don't think my father would approve me joining a troupe.." He managed trying so hard to get his laughter under control. "Besides I am looking for my sister remember." Nkole managed to speak without chuckling which was somewhat amazing. Looking up he realized it was now the time to get out of this area...he was much too close to the village now..and risked being seen.

"I better leave, I have a camp set up nearby and I don't want my things stolen. Thank you for...the educational tour Makani." He managed as the oban swiftly made his way from the blind man.

Makani couldn't help but to smile, "Yes, I can't say that there are many fathers that want their sons to go into that sort of work." He agreed, certain that if he had been born with normal sight that he would probably have been trained to be a hunter like his father was. One of those things that he knew he couldn't become and as such becoming a healer during war times and using his magic as entertainment other times, was something to do. Those with normal vision has far more options though he thought to himself idly then said, "Yes, that is true. You finding your sister and making sure that she is safe is a far more important task then joining a troupe that is sort of on hiatus anyway due to war times." He couldn't agree more with that, he knew he'd do anything to find Eira himself were she to go missing.

"Leave? Already?" He asked, then turned his head sightly when he heard the guy hurrying on his way. He had a camp nearby? He wasn't staying in the village then? Maybe he was shy or just not good with people? Hmm, shy really didn't fit though, he seemed to chatty for shy. Maybe he was camping because he was moving around looking for his sister? He probably would have asked about it were in not for the fact that his companion was suddenly rushing off.

Lifting a hand he waved it after the guy in the direction he felt that he might be in before calling out, "If you find her feel free to come and chat with me more!" It had been a nice enough chat, a shame it was over so soon. Turning his attention back to the barrels of water he said, "Alright, let's get you back. There are a lot of people in need of clean water." And it wasn't as though this would be his own trip to and from the river today if he wanted to make sure that everyone who needed water got it.
