Yesenia watched Amalia clear most of the hurdles with ease and grinned. As expected of Malia. Hearing a noise at her side, she turned to see an exhausted Rin. "Hey, the lady that was having fun on the horse!" Rin winced. "I... don't know if I would have called that fun." Yesenia laughed and clapped the older woman on the shoulder. "Looked like fun to me~! Hey, if you're done, mind if I use the horse you did?"
Rin blinked a few times. "I, I don't mind, but-" Yesenia's cheer cut her off. "Yeah! This'll be great!" She ran off toward the horse the other woman had just finished "riding". Rin called out after her, "It's a little, uh, excitable!" She was unsure if the braided girl had heard her before the horse trotted out onto the course a second time.

[Prompt Response - Yesenia Quinonez]
Yesenia hopped up onto the horse and kicked it into action. The horse trotted out onto the course and immediately ran through the first hurdle. Yesenia laughed joyously, having apparently forgotten the purpose of the exercise in favor of having fun.

[Prompt Response - Yesenia Quinonez]
As she neared the second hurdle (who was setting these back up, anyways?) Yesenia prepared to crash through with a grin, only to be flung backward as the horse jumped over it. "Wait, wha-?!" She scrambled for the reins and stopped herself from falling. Catching her breath, she followed it up with a laugh. How was this not fun??

As she got settled back in the saddle, the horse crashed through the third hurdle, much to the girl's delight. "Yeah! Leave none standing! Wahahaha~!"
Amalia looked on from the sidelines, shaking her head while Rin looked on in a mixture of horror and confusion.

[Prompt Response - Saoirse Claes]
Saoirse was glad that the horse she was going to train with seemed to be gentle and a lot calmer than the first horse she had encounter upon arriving in the training grounds, which had nearly trampled her. Scout as the horse appears to be called was paying close attention to her rider.
After giving the mare a quick pat the trainee mounted and started to ride around in small circles to get used to riding before she attempted to tackle the jumps.
Once she felt confident enough to try the jumps Seers turned her horse around and headed for the area that contained the jumps. The attentive horse responded well to the commands of the inexperienced rider and the pair cleared the jump. "Good girl!" Saoirse praised Scout patting the horses neck.
The second hurdle was higher than the first one had been, although the ginger haired trainee was a bit nervous about it and still working on getting her timing right, the horse was quite used to the jumps and was able to help correct some of the mistakes her rider had made. They where doing well so far, only one hurdle was left and she had yet to crash her horse into them.
By the third hurdle Seers was starting to get used to riding and her timing had improved. Urging Scout on after clearing the second hurdle they manged to jump the final one with easy. Saoirse cheered as she manged to complete the hurdles and praised the mare. She might see if she could sneak the horse a treat later on.

Ervette stood before the trainees. Behind her was a large barrel of water and a big chest of supplies. A few smaller buckets were stacked next to the barrel.
This was going to be some very serious business.
"Week three. Shelter and first aid. This is very important stuff here. There are times where we spend weeks out there, and we don't have the best supplies with us. This can mean that many times, we'll be responsible for our own shelter, and our own first aid. We've got to be inventive more often than not, and we've got to work together to keep ourselves - and each other - alive."
Ervette paused and began to pair off the trainees into teams of two.
"Now. First we need shelter. You will work together with your teammate to build a shelter that can sustain heavy rainfall. And by heavy rainfall, I mean we'll be dumping a bucket of water on your shelter to see if it's worked. If it has, congratulations. If it hasn't... well, learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of those around you."
The woman gestured towards the chest of supplies.
"Once you are finished with your respective shelters, each one of you will suffer from a different injury that could happen out on the field. Sprained ankles and wrists. Cuts. Gashes and scrapes. Bruises. There will be blood out there, trainees, and sometimes it won't be pretty. You'll have to think fast and move faster, and you will have to rely on one another to make sure that you don't die out there."
Ervette spent a moment designating injuries to the various trainees, and then clapped her hands together.
"Lets go."
Quote:
Welcome to Survival, Week Three: Shelter and First Aid.
This week is broken into two mini-events! First, you will be paired off. You and your partner will be responsible for building a shelter using things they find and scavenge.
Each pair is issued the following: • One tarp • One bedroll • Rope
If both parties agree (and this is completely optional) roll 2d6 with your final post and quote me. The first number of your dice is how waterproof your shelter is (1 is awful, 6 is amazing), and the second number of your dice is how stable your shelter is (1 is awful, 6 is amazing). This is completely optional, and should only be used if you want to add a little RP flavor!
Second, you and your partner will need to practice the basics of first aid! You have each been assigned some sort of wound, and you have each been given a small crate of supplies. Each crate also comes with a very bare-bones edition of first aid basics! One partner must practice first aid basics on the other, and then they must switch. Please feel free to make up whatever is in your crate; this is only a loose guideline!!
To complete this course, you must post a minimum of 800 words worth of interaction with your designated partner as your characters complete the tasks they've been given! This is 800 words cumulative, spread out between the two tasks for this week's training.
If your partner disappears (i.e. does not post for a long period of time without notifying you), and you are afraid you will not reach the minimum word count for this week: please quote me and you will be given further information!!
partners go here with their wounds designated!! gash bloody nose sprained wrist sprained ankle puncture wound something in eye concussion broken leg dislocated shoulder etc
You have One Week to respond to this prompt. I know we'll be going into this month for 3-4 but if you need to do 2 still you may just make sure you label it clearly
Pairs
Rin Shepard - Jaime Bicker: Broken Leg
Martino Velazquez - Amalia Stern: Sprained Wrist
Yesenia Quinonez - Saoirse Claes: Broken Arm

[Prompt Response - Rin Shepard]
Rin listened to Ervette talk about the specifics of building shelter. The task seemed straightforward enough - build a shelter that could withstand the bucket of water that was to be dumped on her and her partner. A cheer rose up from a short distance away as their instructor finished speaking, and Rin turned to see the grey haired girl from the horse riding session raising a racket. A boundless source of energy, that girl, Rin thought to herself as a small smile crossed her lips. Whatever anyone else might have thought about it, the short haired woman found the other woman's excitement infectious. Alright, time to locate her partner - it shouldn't be hard, there were only five others here. Wait, she thought. That's right - the grey haired one was teamed with him for sparring, so it had to be the other boy. Walking over to him, she waved in greeting. "Hello, I'm Rin Shepard - you must be Jaime Bicker. A pleasure to meet you." She said with a kind smile.

[Prompt Response - Amalia Stern]
Amalia tried her hardest to focus on Ervette's words, but found that REALLY ******** DIFFICULT because Yesenia would NOT stop shaking her arm. Finally the other girl gave up, and the green haired girl was able to listen to her instructor. The instructions were clear and simple - set up a shelter able to withstand a sudden assault of a bucket of water. Simple. Once Ervette had finished explaining what to do, Yesenia suddenly cheered excitedly. Right next to her, Amalia winced at the sudden outburst and cast a glare at her ex-girlfriend, a glare that the other party didn't seem to receive, as she was already traipsing off. Shaking her head, Amalia walked over to Martino and gave the man a nod. "Hey - Martino, right? I'm Amalia. Let's get started."

[Prompt Response - Yesenia Quinonez]
Yesenia jittered with excitement. Camping! Holy s**t, man, this was going to be totally amazing. She'd never actually gone camping before, and admittedly this wouldn't actually be the real deal, but still! Camping! Smiling like an idiot (and Amalia probably thought so), Yesenia shook the other girl's arm incessantly, trying to gain her attention, but, alas, it was not to be. In any normal situation, that lack of attention would have earned a pout, but this was not a normal situation. Camping! That thought sustained and rejuvenated the girl, and she bounced up and down with anticipation, hardly listening to the instructor. When Ervette finished speaking and began to direct to the trainees into pairs, Yesenia cheered excitedly. ******** yeah, camping! By the walls, she was so excited! She ran off, completely forgetting the fact that she was supposed to have a partner. Remembering a moment later, she ran back to the group. The rest had already paired up, which left the orange haired girl to be her partner. Waving frantically at the girl, who was probably wondering what was wrong with the braided girl, Yesenia grinned manically. "Hey, man! Camping! Can you believe it!?"

[Prompt Response - Saoirse Claes[ Camping sounded fun! Saoirse wondered how hard it would be to build a suitable shelter; with two people the work should go relatively fast right? She was surprised when her partner, at least she assumed the other girl was her partner as everyone else had paired up all ready, suddenly bolted off; luckily Yesenia seemed to notice the fact and came back rather quickly. Seers waved back to the brunette with equal enthusiasm. “Yeah, it sounds like a lot of fun!” She cheered back. “Shall we head off to find a good spot and some materials to work with then?” The camping part sounded like a lot of fun, and they could probably find some things to use for the second part of the training while they were looking for things to build their shelter with. [Prompt Response - Yesenia Quinonez]
Yesenia nodded enthusiastically at the other girl's agreement that camping sounded like a lot of fun. Shooting a fist into the air, Yesenia let loose another cheer as she bounded off to look for supplies. This would be like the peace garden, except without a wagon, and so many people, and less promise of lemons, and - okay, it wasn't really like the peace garden with the exception of picking up sticks. But it was still going to be awesome! Camping, man!
She was the first to reach the trees and immediately began to look around for sticks. Picking a few sizable ones up, she tucked them under her arm as she continued searching.

[Prompt Response - Saoirse Claes] Saoirse followed her partner over to the trees and helped the other girl in collecting wood for the shelter they were building. She looked over them carefully trying to only pick good sticks, ones that where thick or long and that did not seem to have any rot on them. While looking for good sticks Seers also grabbed vines as she came across them. “So are we going build a lean too or something else?” The ginger haired girl asked her partner as she attempted to balance her arm full of materials. “Do you want to pick out a spot or just make it where ever? Oh, I’m Saoirse by the way; most people call me Seers though.” If her hands weren’t otherwise occupied with the building materials she would have offered her hand to shake.

Yesenia laughed as she picked up another stick. "I don't have any idea what that is! So, sure! I've never been camping before, have you?" Grinning, she introduced herself. "Name's Yesenia, but you can call me Yes if ya want. Or anything, really! I don't really care! Wahahaha~!"

"Haha not really, But I've met some people who have, I guess a lean-to is a type of shelter that has one wall that is slanted and then has some sticks or shorter walls on each side keeping it up?" Seers responded. “It sounds like it might be easy to make.” She grabbed another branch as she spoke.
