I have to say, I'm actually disappointed in the book. I feel like Anita hogged all the story to herself. I found out Micah lost two relatives to a serial killer that was a were lepoard, that he was attacked by said creature resulting in his death and metaphorical reincarnation into what he is now, and that it was a federal case. There are other little tidbits, but damnit I want to know more about Micah, I really could have cared less about the sex, and I could have done with less raising the zombie and all that power bullshit. Please, she could have cut that whole scene in half and still managed the same outcome with about the same impact. I just hope Danse Macrabe is like this. I want character development, not sex, and I want story background and plot. Damnit if the title says Micah it should be about Micah! Not Micah the sex toy from Anita's point of view. I know he isn't a sex toy in her eyes and that they love/lust for each other but still. I feel like I learned more about Anita than Micah.

As far as the book went, I thought it was much too short - and the sex scene was ... well, I could have done with out it and more character development. I liked getting to know more about Micha, he seems to always have a big old question mark besides his name. Kind of like the wild card of the group since we don't know that much about him. I found it refreshing to get back to some good ol' fashion zombie raising - wish we had more.
As far as the unaccounted lancathropy type that was mixing in with all of the big cat stuff - I instantly thought of the sabertooth-were creatures that Belle sent over in....CS? I think I'll have to go back and read that one again to see if that could be a possibility. And it does look like it's shaping up to have Anita being able to call big cats - if only leopard for the moment...could be interesting in the future - merging large cat groups together?
As for the teaser chapter at the end of the book, wow, do I ever love hating Ronnie at the moment! I can't wait to read the next book, which will undoubtly be much longer! Eh, I hope Richard isn't the father.
