So I'm moving about 25-30 minutes away in a couple of weeks. I just got a job at Publix, and already I had my manager tell me she was glad to hire me, and that I've been progressing pretty quickly, and I'm doing a little better than she expected. She was really glad to have hired me. Well the thing is, my boyfriend is working full time, and so is my roommate. Both have varying schedules, and I don't actually have a ride myself. So with the move (which is necessary right now), I'll be 2 hours and 40 minutes by bus from my work (which is like 15 minutes away by car now) and the bus schedule is all sorts of ******** up. There's almost no way I'll be able to keep the job and able to work enough hours to make it work, so I'm either going to have to transfer or quit. The thing that's bothering me so much right now is that I've only been at Publix (it's a grocery store in the south) for like, two and a half, almost three weeks now. I've finally getting accustomed to everything, and I've even learned everybody's names, and I really like them so far, even my boss. I just get really uncomfortable and upset even think about telling her I have to move, and leave the store that I just got hired into.

It's still too far away by bike, and none of my coworkers live in the area around me that I know of so I doubt that's an option as well. I've already thought about those options.

Yeah by bike it's like 2 hours ._. Considering I'm working 7-9 hour shifts, I don't think I wanna bike for two hours and then work a full shift ; A;

$9.50, which is more than I make currently working at Subway as well. It's decent money and it's definitely a bit more than minimum wage down here.

Yes, a bike may help. Don't be embarrassed; tell her of your move. Maybe you both can work something out o:

As I said in a previous post, bike riding will be roughly 2 hours and 10 minutes, and with my current scheduling, I don't think it's worth it too much to get up at 6 almost every morning to bike for two hours and then work a 9 hour day :c

I know I gotta get over it, and that there's noting I can really do about it because the move is inevitable, hopefully I can just transfer to a closer Publix.

sorry, I missed that lol
And I was gonna suggest a closer Publix, but I thought you may not have one that close (since by car it's only 15 minutes)

Roughly 40 minutes, depending on how traffic is and the current time of day.

In the Orlando area, Publix's are like zits, since they originated down here and everything. It's pretty much a large grocery store chain and I know there are like two-three in like a 25 minute radius from the new place, so I should be able to find one to transfer to, though only problem will be is if they'll actually be hiring/have available positions or not.
