๑๑๑๑ As Luo neared Segare, it seemed he wasn't as intent on allowing Luo to come as close as he had before. The technique the man used Luo knew well, and in fact had every intention of learning it in the near future. What struck him as odd however, was how the jutsu was performed. It didn't come from his mouth as per usual, instead the chakra laced air swirled at the tip of Segare's sword, something Luo had not expected. He grinned at the display, a skill even he admitted he did not have. It was something Luo was eager to test the limits of, see just what the man could do with it and to what extent.

Luo had options in his mind as the missile launched, thinking on multiple strategies. He figured he could take the blast head on with his umbrella, however the sheer shock from it up close would not only knock him off balance, but more than likely cause some severe shock to his wrist and possibly his forearm as well. It wasn't worth the risk taking something like that close-up just to get an inch in. He had other ideas as well, five in quick succession, however none seemed to carry the same bravado as one in particular. If there was one thing Luo wanted and quite possibly needed to prove in this bout it was that not only was he capable as a shinobi, but that he was not an average shinobi as well.

With how short the incantation for the wind torpedo technique was along with the fact that Segare was able to forgo hand seals and use his weapon apparently, there wasn't much time for Luo to react. Not to mention, both of his hands were currently occupied. Launching over the man, his newly unleashed speed allowing for more height, the air directly where Luo was began to swirl rapidly as thin spiraling wisps of air could be seen. It took just the right amount of time, however Luo was able to pull off a rotating shield to take his place.

The young Ushio wasn't a fool however, he knew the genin level technique would not stand up to the sheer force of the wind torpedo technique in order to launch it back as the technique was supposed to do. No, instead Luo used the techniqe itself as a point of impact for the wind torpedo, forcing it to detonate without hitting its intended target. Instead, the spinning fuuton Luo launched served to in its 'dying breath' deflect back towards Segare the sheer force of his own attack.

Luo knew that he may have revealed too early something he and every Ushio was capable of: Unspoken Jutsu. However, given the fact that both of the councilors had the fuuton element as well as a decent knowledge of shinobi, Luo knew it wasn't uncommon for a select few shinobi who've shown true mastery over an element to be able to cast jutsu without seals or incantation. Luo had never encountered one capable of doing so with anything over C-rank, and he gathered that may have been the same for Segare. So, it wasn't at all impossible for the feat to merely look come across as a dominant knowledge of the fuuton element. The truth however, was more than just that.

In the same moment the jutsu had been launched, Luo was mid somersault over Segare's head, his newly unleashed speed carrying him higher than previously expected as he watched the man immediately stab his sword into the ground and once more use it as a conduit for ninjutsu. So far, there was no limit on what elements he could use with it, interesting indeed. Umbrella forward, Luo landed and crouched slightly, slashing at the man's left ankle keeping the umbrella open and covering him from the torso up. If Segare managed to avoid the explosive force his own jutsu contained, Luo was right behind him. Luckily he was a bit farther from the jutsu than when it was originally launched, however he took caution not to have his own plan backfire on him.

As a short burst of chaos between them both ensued, Luo posed the next question as he swung his sword, raising his voice a bit with the heat and excitement of battle. The question was something Luo had on his mind since an earlier one he'd asked, and figured it was something that after the last question was definitely somewhat more personal. Of course however, Segare was entitled to simply deny answering, but Luo was curious.

"How long has it been since you've spoken to your father?"

Bouseki Tate no Kaze (Spinning Shield of Winds)
Description: Focusing on an area in front of them about 5 feet wide and across, the user dispels chakra to cause the wind to spin rapidly in a circular motion, creating something akin to a shield. Instead of deflecting attacks however the shield will reflect whatever was thrown at them back towards the enemy at the same speed it was fired at.The degree of reflection depends on the user’s control stat; a 5 would only reflect small projectiles and stage one ninjutsu, while a 40 could repel fairly large thrown weapons and level 4 ninjutsu techniques.

(So, since the Ushio clan is going to be edited to get rid of the pesky '.5' intervals in there, I just doubled the chakra cost for the jutsu. Just as well, since they must have chakra control as a type, I'm more than likely going to add that their bonus from that type does apply.)
