It was Navi's own gold Blessing that first alerted him to the missing eggs. Her mind went wild with images of eggs and thieves and fear, it took Navi a minute to sort it all out. At first, he thought maybe Blessing was having a clutch. But that wasn't it. Finally, she had led him to the kitchens, where he found the distraught gold and enough riders to explain to him what had happened.
Having decided to help, Navi went straight to the kitchens, since it was closest place and therefore the first place he thought to look. Besides which, he was kind of hungry. He decided the pantry was the best place to look first. And if there happened to be some leftovers in there, well..

Jemi walked into the kitchen, focused on getting a snack and a bucket of meat for her dragon. She talked to the kitchen workers, liberating a sweat roll and glanced around. Eggs had been found here.. maybe she should take a look?
Jemi idly poked about, munching.
Irith hmmped and nodded.

Wait.. really? Jemi laughed, stumbling on her second egg just after the first and man, that was a rather large egg. She scooped up the red egg, poke-a-dotted in blue? black.. it was a rather unfortunate pattern and carried it off with her bucket to feed Irith first. A bit longer wait wouldn't harm it any.

Cai entered the kitchens just as Jemi was leaving, hand still clutching the little egg to the skin of his stomach. He had cautioned Genith to stay out of the bustling hive of activity. As agile as the blue was, he would undoubtedly trip someone up just by being there.
Cai nodded to the weyrling as they passed by but was on a mission to obtain a pot and some coals from a low fire. He'd get some sand elsewhere, but those were the essentials.

Pots... pots... pots... You'd think in a kitchen he'd be able to find a simple ceramic pot with lid! Maybe in the pantry... an unused herb container or something.
Worst came to worst he supposed he could use a bowl, a pot would be better though.

No luck in the cupboard. Navi wanted to look on the table for food flitt eggs, but he was too short. He managed to find a chair and climbed on, searching through the bowls and containers strewn about and munching on whatever discarded scraps of vegtables lay around the cutting board. Yummy.

Having mostly abandoned his efforts in favour of snacking, the onus had now fallen on Blessing to find her fellow gold's missing eggs. Darting about, she stuck her nose into vaious pots and pans, checking all the highest shelves that Navi could never reach.

Less hungry, Navi rejoined the search. opening the bottom-most cupboards, while Blessing continued to search from above.

It was difficult working one handed Cai realized as he managed to find a small pot with a decent lid. There were a few scraps of rosemary at the bottom which still smelled nice, but weren't really enough for a whole meal. Cai took the pot and left the pantry. He might come back later though. They had some things even the healer's didn't keep on hand and he could think of a few non-edible uses for what they had secreted away.
He reached for the lid he had put down to replace it before he left and he heard a small click. Blinking in surprise, Cai found he'd bumped the lid into a small egg he hadn't even noticed was there.
Quickly it was transferred to the hand against his stomach so he could carry both and the pot at the same time. Cai hurried to one of the cooking fires, banked but not out, and using the pot scooped a couple coals into the bottom. Instantly the rosemary within curled and released a strong aroma, but Cai was already off in search of sand.
