Her first day in the Weyr... and already something was afoot.
Well, it couldn't hurt to try whatever it was, surely. Brushing a lock of hair from her eyes, Ryala entered the Infirmiry, and started looking about. If anyone asked why she was there, she could legitimately claim that she was learning her way around the Weyr. Granted, that wasn't her main reason for being there, but they didn't need to know that...

Not even sure what she was looking for, Ryala looked at the beds, which seemed to be rather rumbled. Perhaps there was nothing left to find here, then? It rather looked like the place had been gone over thoroughly. Still, she would never know if she didn't at least try. But first... Crossing to the first of the beds, the redheaded girl began to straighten it. It didn't seem right to her that the Infirmary should be messy.
((sorry, erased my last post and put it here, since I completely forgot to roll the dice))

Having finished making up the first bed, Ryala looked down at it for a moment. Perfect! Much better than it had been before. Now, she would just see to the others. Moving on, she started working on the second one, straightening the furs and adjusting the pillow.

Wait... was that a lump in the pillow? Curious, she tested the spot, remembering that she was supposed to be looking for something. Could this, possibly, be it... whatever it was?
No, just a lump in the pillow, she discovered as she plumped it. Nothing mysterious there! But still, that had her thinking again as she continued to fix the bed... what, exactly, was everyone running around searching for? It didn't seem like anyone had lost something... it was more like a game, with a prize that you had to find. Only no one had told her the prize.
By the time she reached the third bed, Ryala had decided that, whatever was going on, she'd just been unlucky enough to have arrived a few minutes too late. There was nothing left here, but a mess to clean up. And she was already doing what she could to fix that...
Suddenly, she jerked her hand back, as it encountered a hard object on the corner of the bed, hidden under the furs. What in the... Pulling the furs away, the girl gasped. No... It couldn't be! But... Reaching out, she gently put her fingertips on the curved shell, awed. So this was what everyone had been scrambling to find! Eggs! And she'd found one!
It took her a moment to remember what she was doing, and why. When she did, she carefully took the egg, placed it on one of the already made beds, and then finished making up the rest of them. The egg wasn't hatching right this instant, after all... and she refused to leave this mess for someone else to pick up! Only after the job was done did she take up the egg once more, and take it to the Lower Caverns.
[ and I believe that #12 was the last one here, so I'll claim that ]
