Olivine City - Single Battle - Fame - Steel Type - Mineral BadgeUchiha Roxas [General Information] Name: Jericho Northstar Nicknames: None. Hates being called Jer or Jerry. Age: 22 Birthday: 2nd June, (26 is the Atomic Number of Iron) Gender: Male Ethnicity: Johto Caucasian Hometown: Olivine City, Johto Current Residence: Olivine City, Johto Gym: Olivine City Cym Gym Specialty: Steel Type Gym Badge: Mineral Badge
[Personal Information] Occupation: Bartender, Musician and Trainee Gym Leader Sexuality: Heterosexual Likes: Girls in bikinis or very little clothing, music, poetry, art, comic books, confidence, funny people, alcohol, Steel Type Pokemon and Jasmine Dreams: Jericho's main goal is obviously to become the Olivine City Gym Leader that people think he can be. A secondary goal is to one day marry his long time crush Jasmine even though she's a lot older than he is. He also knows this means taking custody of her daughter Holly, a responsibility he is more than willing to accept. Dislikes: Rejection, his Pokemon getting hurt, Jasmine worrying, being c**k-blocked, the guy who knocked up Jasmine, the guy who ran off on Jasmine, the guy who broke Jasmine's heart and Fairy Type Pokemon. Fears: Failure, losing, letting people down and not being able to marry Jasmine. Intelligence Level: Jericho's intelligence is pretty average. He's a guy who relies more on his own and his Pokemons' brute force rather than their brain power. Strengths: Confidence, ability to act, physical strength, ability to make friends, loyalty, compassion and inability to give up in a tough situation/ on someone. Weaknesses: Strategic thinking, pretty girls, Jasmine, the fear of losing/failing/ letting people down and his Pokemon.
Cherished Items: The only two things that Jericho cherishes that are what you'd consider "objects" or "items" are his spear, a tool which he bought with his first paycheck to look cool but eventually turned into a training aid to help him physically train with his own Pokemon and his Mineral Badge given to him by Jasmine.
Personality Jericho is the kind of guy who makes a terrible first impression and when talked about by other people is a prime example of the phrase: "He's alright once you get to know him." Jericho, not Jerry or Jer or any other form of nickname because otherwise you risk a fight, is a rambunctious soul and a notorious skirt chaser. Often in trouble for saying the wrong thing or being inappropriate towards the opposite sex or even both, he is not most people's first choice for being the Gym Leader of their City. His other misdemeanors include fighting and being an anti-social drunk.
Jericho is also very strong even though he doesn't look it. It is a well known fact that Jericho physically trains with his Pokemon and his strength can somewhat be disastrous when he gets over excited. He once punched a hole in the Olivine City Gym door because of the fact he was in a rush to get to the bathroom.
However, Jericho is someone who you want on your team once you do get to know him. A big softie at heart whom is loyal to a fault, he hates to see people or Pokemon get hurt and he often refuses to give up on things even when they're doing him harm. He even has a soft spot for women and even though he is a philanderer in practice, he does believe in true love; his true love is Jasmine. Even though the former Gym Leader is quite a bit older than him; Jericho has a huge soft spot for her and would do anything to protect her. He believes they are meant to be together and that no matter how many women he loves, the end result will always lead him back to Jasmine.
Biography Born and bred in Olivine City, Jericho doesn't really have much of a story to tell. He doesn't have a dark past, his dad didn't run out on him and he hasn't traveled much of anywhere save for to different Johto Cities for his parents. Jericho just grew up around sailors being from a port town and enjoyed the life of a honourable rogue that many sea shanties were about.
So growing up, Jericho just tried to live up to the stories; he'd fight the good fight and chase all the girls whilst trying and failing not to get in trouble. He was soon infamous around Olivine as a trouble maker and at a young age, other children decided it was best not to play with him in case he got them into trouble. Hurt by their rejection, Jericho instead turned it into something else. He turned it into determination and confidence. Determined to make friends, he stood up for those being bullied and even tried to get the bullies on side with his "can-do" attitude when it came to changing yourself for the better. Eventually he was revered as much as he was respected and things seemed to be going okay, even if he was still chasing girls far too old for him and breaking things with his uncanny strength.
It was when he turned 10 that things in Jericho's life changed forever. Jericho fell in love. Going to get his first Pokemon from Olivine City Gym due to being unable to make his way to Newbark Town; Jericho met the newly appointed Gym Leader Jasmine whom had just returned from her own Mark of Leadership sabbatical on Inheritance Island. As his senior by six years, Jericho really knew he stood no chance with her but something was different about Jasmine compared to all his other crushes. She wasn't voluptuous or seductive, she just was and her just being was beautiful enough for him even at the age of 10 and is still so now. Jasmine handed him a Scyther, a notoriously hard Pokemon to train but believed in Jericho due to his reputation.
After a rocky start, Jericho was able to tame the newly hatched Scyther after a while. It took him about a year to earn her trust completely and he battled relentlessly in order to try and prove himself to Jasmine however, he never seemed to catch Jasmine's eye and after she was defeated by a trainer called Gold, she went off travelling for a while closing the Gym's doors. Even when everyone seemed to forget about her, Jericho sat and trained outside the gym everyday, waiting for Jasmine. She would come back from time to time and see him and eventually as one of her parting gifts and as a birthday present to Jericho gave a Metal Coat and traded Scyther with him for her prized Steelix Rusty to make it evolve and then traded it back. Scyther became Scizor and Jasmine even hinted that one day, Jericho would be good enough to be one of her Gym Trainers.
It was this that convinced Jericho that if he wanted to win Jasmine's heart, he would have to one day become strong enough to be her Gym Trainer. So, he and Scizor trained together for a long time. He left school with average grades because he thought he wouldn't need them and at 18 decided to move out into an apartment on the seafront. Him and Scizor were together for a long time and the two of them kept training, Jericho kept working and the two of them did eventually make it into the Olivine City Gym. It was 9 years in the making but they finally made themselves a permanent addition to the Mineral Badge roster.
It was a good year, even so when the Olivine Gym had a positive record of wins to losses thanks to the combination of not just Jericho and Scizor as representatives but also Jasmine and Jericho in terms of running the Gym together. The two grew extra close during this time and Jericho's dreams of finally kissing Jasmine looked as though it was going to come true but then, something happened. It was sad but even Jericho saw it happening one day, he had had relationships with many different girls ranging from single nights to a year long commitment and finally, Jasmine had seemed to find someone. Jasmine even got engaged. Even though Jericho had his suspicions about the guy right off the bat, he stood by Jasmine solidly and supported her decision.
When Jasmine fell pregnant though, Jericho's fears were confirmed when her fiance disappeared. He'd ran off, stolen a ton of money from the Gym's funds and broke Jasmine's heart. This made Jericho angry and vowing revenge, he set out to look for him to no avail. Rumours were that the rat fled to a totally different Region and as Jericho was about to get on a boat and follow him: Jasmine stopped him. Swelling, she was eventually going to have to give up the Gym to be a Mother and when that time came, she wanted someone she trusted and knew to be the one to fill her shoes. This person turned out to be Jericho and confused, he thanked her and began a rather extensive regime under her tutelage that not only focused on his battling skills but also his conduct and his judgement.
This continued until she was 8 months pregnant. Jasmine then had to have Jericho stand in for her as a stand-in because she was too big and battling would be too dangerous for the baby. The Gym began to decline as Jericho had to battle on Jasmine's command in a sort of vicarious manner because he didn't have the Mark of Leadership and eventually the two of them decided to close the Gym after the stress got too much for Jasmine. Due to drop any day, Jasmine tried to push Jericho to take the Mark of Leadership exam but he wouldn't leave her side. He stayed with her until the baby was born, waited until its first birthday and then took Scizor with him to partake in the exam.
Jasmine and Holly, her one year old daughter, saw Jericho off by giving him a Steelix. Holly then asked her Mother when "Daddy" would be coming home, emotional, Jericho told Jasmine about how he really felt and hurriedly boarded the S.S Destiny.

But even though the two are at odds, the two understand each other enough to remain professional.

Fears: Small, cramped spaces: When Lyra was younger, she got trapped in an elevator by herself four six hours. Since then, she's been utterly terrified to go anywhere near them. This fear spreads to other cramped areas as well. Intelligence Level: Above average, mainly from keeping her mouth shut and listening to others. Strengths: Being a healer, ability to blend in with a crowd, having people underestimate her, great memory Weaknesses: Her stuttering, shyness, Being naive, physically weak Gym: Hearthome Gym Gym Specialty: Ghost Gym Badge: Relic Badge
Cherished Items: A friendship bracelet from Leon: they had gotten them for Lyra's tenth birthday, as Leon said it would prove they would always be together. It's nothing really fancy, a metal bracelet with a plastic Arcanine on it, Leon's favorite pokemon. He has a matching bracelet, except with a Duskull instead. Even though it's old and childish, she still wears it, hoping that she will be able to reach her cousin again one day.
Personality Lyra is shy and very quiet, especially because she doesn't want people to make fun of her stutter. During a Pokemon battle, she seems to lose her anxiety, becoming much more bold. Though she usually tends to shy away from people, she is drawn to those who are hurting, doing everything in her power to help them. If she feels like her enemy is suffering, she will still help them, often which leaves her to get abused.
Biography Lyra was born the only child to Gemma Maylife, the Nurse Joy of Jubilife City. Lyra was not given the overwhelming pink hair and blue eyes of the Joy family however, but instead took after her father, with sable colored hair and eyes. This didn't make Gemma hesitate in training her daughter on how to properly heal Pokemon, and Lyra seemed to have a gift for it. She struggled with self confidence however, and had an extreme stutter. Even with years of therapy, the stutter remained, though to a much less degree. They were a happy family however and Lyra remembers her childhood fondly.
Though she didn't have many friends, she spent all of her time with her 'cousin', Leon. In reality, they didn't share a drop of blood, bit their mothers were best friends. Two years older, Leon looked after the little girl, often picking fights with those who bullied her from her stutter. He backed her up when she told her mother she didn't want to be a nurse, but a Pokemon trainer. He got matching bracelets, even though he complained it was uncool for twelve year old boys to wear jewelry. He was always there for her when she needed him. Well, except one time.
Visiting a department store, Lyra, who at the time was eight, wandered off with Leon, playing chase with the older boy. Sneaking around the merchandise to not get caught, she saw a crowd of people getting off the elevator, leaving it empty. Quickly she got on, pressing the button for the top floor. At that moment, the power went out, most likely from a failed experiment at the nearby Pokedex industry. However, the elevator was halfway through the floors, and refused to open, keeping the little girl stuck inside. As people were evacuated outside, no one heard the little girl's cries as she pounded on the elevator door. Well no human at least. A Duskull, interested by the noise, decided to investigate. Feeling sorry for the girl, he stayed by her side for hours trying to cheer up, as the store workers, now alerted about the missing girl, searched for her. Naming the Pokemon Angel, since she decided he was her guardian angel after all, the pair were extremely close.
As Leon and Lyra grew older, the boy started to change. No longer was he just a protectively brother type, but instead grew jealous and tried to keep Lyra all to himself. Several times the brunette found him beating other guys his age, convincing himself that it was for Lyra's own good. When she tried to stop him, he grew enraged. Not stopping to think, he punched his best friend in the eye as hard as he could. Immediately, he realized what he did, panicking as Lyra cried, then carrying her to the hospital. According to the doctors, Lyra's right eye was permanently damaged, and would be almost blind in that eye for the rest of her life. Leon left down just two days later refusing to see the pain he had created.
When Lyra was well enough to travel, she decided it was time to start her journey, though she was older then many other kids, not starting till she was twelve. Battling seemed to bring out the confidence she lacked, wen if it was only for a brief time. When she arrived at Hearthome city, she felt like she found where she belonged. Fantima, the gym leader of the city, quickly became her idol, and Lyra decided she would become as powerful as her one day. Traveling throughout Sinnoh, Angel became stronger, first becoming a Dusclops, and then a powerful Dusknoir. She also caught a female Gourgeist during this time, naming the sweet little Pokemon Peach. She quickly became one of the best, if not the best, ghost type trainers in Sinnoh. When Fantina decided she wanted to retire, Lyra was contacted to take her place. Though the girl was extremely nervous, she couldn't tell her idol no.

Laverre City - Single - Fame - Fairy - Fairy BadgeXpeke your nexus [General Information] Name: Kokun Aneikage Nicknames: Kokun Age: 25 Birthday: October 17th Gender: Male Ethnicity: Kalos, Caucasian Hometown: Laverre City, Kalos Current Residence: Laverre City, Kalos
[Personal Information] Occupation: Trainee Gym Leader Sexuality: Heterosexual Likes: Fancy Pokemon, conversation, relaxation and rest. Dreams: To collect every different kind of Fairy Type Pokemon, Shiny and other designs. Dislikes: Simplicity, arguing with people, loud-mouths Fears: Losing any of his Pokemon Intelligence Level: Kokun's intelligence is fairly higher than average, mainly due to the fact that he researches anything to do with various Pokemon before actually battling with them on his side. Strengths: Battling with Fairy-type Pokemon, understanding the types and weaknesses of all Pokemon, and how much they can do in a fight. Weaknesses: Social interaction, dealing with people who are thick-skulled Gym: Laverre Gym Gym Specialty: Fairy Gym Badge: Fairy Badge
Cherished Items: The Fairy Gym Badges - These badges that Kokun holds close to him are a symbol of those who were deemed worthy enough to earn the right to advance on in their challenges against other Leaders.
The Horns - It is said that the horns Kokun wears were forged from the horns of Xerneas itself. Because of this, Kokun proudly wears them as if they were a crown for him.
Personality Although Kokun is very quiet and docile, the man is intelligent when it comes to having a discussion, especially when that discussion has to do with the Fairy-Type Pokemon. A man who prefers the looks of a Pokemon over how good it is, Kokun tends to be one of the people thinking that "Beauty is only skin deep". While he believes in this philosophy, Kokun is not the kind of person to criticize others for their choices. In fact, more often then not during a conflict of such a manner, he will take a neutral stance and refuse to intervene, saying that his opinion is only his, and not theirs.
Biography Similar to the Fairy-Type Pokemon, not much is known about Kokun. Known to be an avid Pokemon-lover, Kokun lived his days out in the City of Laverre from when he was a child. Growing up within the city, Kokun had a strong affiliation with the Pokemon that resided there. Even though Fairy-Type Pokemon were a recent discovery at the time, Kokun found himself fascinated by their mystery and beauty. When he first caught a Ralts, he tried to challenge anyone he could, in order to see all the various Pokemon. In order to do this successfully, he became a Trainer at Valerie's Gym, to see all of the trainers that would come and battle her. When he trained, he was nearly unbeatable, only losing to the best of the best, and Valerie herself. It wasn't until he turned twenty three that he managed to defeat her, with his Gardevoir by his side. That was the day that he felt fully recognized as a Fairy Trainer.
Whilst training, Kokun noticed certain trainers had Pokemon of off-coloring from their standard pattern. Looking into it, he soon discovered that all Pokemon could have an opposite-colored pattern to them. Known as "Shiny Pokemon", Kokun found this unique trait to be the most fascinating of all. Making a vow to himself that he would catch all of the Fairy-Type Pokemon at first, then find their respective Shiny counterparts, he set out to begin his journey. However, it was before he was about to leave that he received an offer; to become the new Gym Leader. Apparently Valerie wished to retire, and felt that he was the most likely one to replace her. He was well-known throughout the City, and was very similar to the woman herself. At first, he refused, but after speaking to Valerie one night over a drink, she convinced him it would be the best plan. As a result, he accepted the offer, and set out to become one of the greatest Gym Leaders.

As a result of this, whenever Kokun assisted her with Gym Work, he would find her spending time with her Togepi. As time went on, it evolved into a beautiful Togetic, and shortly after a Togekiss, thanks to a stone that Kokun had found for her. As thanks for his hard work for her, Valerie gave Kokun an egg that her Togekiss had, telling him that it would be a beautiful Togekiss, just as hers was. Mahogany Town – Single Battle - Fame – Ice Type – Glacier Badge IGmangachick [General Information] Name: Estelle Caldwell Nicknames: Elle Age: Twenty Birthday: January 30th Gender: Female Ethnicity: Johto Caucasian Hometown: Goldenrod City Current Residence: Mahogany Town, Johto Gym: Mahogany Gym Gym Specialty: Ice Type Gym Badge: Glacier Badge
[Personal Information] Occupation: Trainee Gym Leader, Pokemon Breeder Sexuality:Heterosexual Likes: Cute Pokemon- Okay, everyone loves cute things, but Estelle has a particular soft spot for the little ones. The smaller they are, the sweeter they are, and the fluffier they are, the higher they rank on her cute scale. Of course, on a scale of one to ten, just about every Pokemon starts on 4. Except Garbador. That thing is just plain gross. Pokemon breeding- There are a number of reasons why Estelle loves breeding so much. First of all, baby Pokemon right after hatching are the cutest things in the world, but second of all, it’s a past time for her. If she weren’t in the process of becoming a gym leader she’d probably be a breeder, and for that matter it runs in her blood. Snow- There is something unexplainably beautiful about white flakes cascading from the heavens and landing in your hair. Who cares if everything gets dirty in the winter, when the landscape is a fabulous white it’s too pretty to complain. Dreams: Estelle’s greatest dream in life is to be a world renowned Pokemon Breeder, but now that she’s so far off track as a Gym leader it’s unclear if she’ll ever get the chance to step back into the world of breeding. Call it a secondary goal in life, but Elle desperately wishes to catch every adorable Pokemon there is. If it can’t be caught, she’ll trade for it, and if a trade isn’t an option then she’s not above stealing to insure she has the cutest crew the world has ever known. Dislikes: Garbador- GROSS. It’s actually garbage! That pokemon could never rank on the cute scale; it’s a -5 at best! Trainers- So here’s the thing, for all the cute Pokemon that trainers bring into her gym, the trainers themselves annoy Estelle to no end. They talk and complain, they whine when they lose and brag when they win. There has yet to be a trainer to challenge her that didn’t downright tick her off. Bragging- Can you get more childish? Okay, so it’s one of her guilty pleasures, but that doesn’t mean she likes to hear it from other people. Fears: Fire genuinely terrifies Estelle. One small burn on her elbow as a child, over time, has blown up into a downright horror at the very thought of flames. For the sake of cute fire type Pokemon, she can usually endure it, but in most cases she can hardly stand to look in that general direction. Intelligence Level: Estelle is truly brilliant as a strategist and is very thoughtful, but she’s simultaneously a massive ditz. Things slip by her like the wind, and when they do she can hardly be asked to account for them in her planning. Strengths: Strategic thinking- Breeding requires a lot of planning ahead, so it would make a lot of sense that Estelle is well adapted to thinking things out before making a move. Patience- Just like Strategic thinking, this is a strength she drew from her experience as a Pokemon breeder. She waited months for an egg to hatch, and to this day still waits and hopes that Riddick will forgive her. Persistence and perseverance - If it weren’t for persistence, Estelle never would have become a trainer. She got knocked to the ground a thousand times, but got back up a thousand and one. Weaknesses: Kindness- her natural tendency to be kind and affectionate is sure to hurt her in the long run. She’s supposed to be the Ice Queen, some cold-hearted b***h, but that’s no strength of hers and because of it she not only receives constant ridicule from fellow gym leaders, but from her opponents as well. No one likes to face a softy. Secondary Weakness: Cute things. It can’t be said enough how obsessed Estelle is with everything cute. Adorable things make her weak at the knees, and she has in fact, thrown a match or two to keep from harming some particularly cuddly Pokemon. Since then she’s curbed this tendency and it’s a very, very rare occurrence, but she does still get a bit google-eyed over them even in combat.
Cherished Items: A small pearl. She doesn’t wear it on jewelry or flaunt it about, but keeps it tucked into her clothing where it is close to her heart. The pearl was a gift from Riddick, and came from the Shellder he’d been flaunting when they first met.
Personality Estelle is one of those people who will try her hardest to pretend she’s someone she isn’t, and it immediately falls through the ground. At first words she’s usually the cool, calm and collected type, she walks tough and acts tough, trying to hide behind some cool façade. The truth is though; she melts instantly at the sight of any cute pokemon, which in her world is just about everything. If anything cute comes in her path it is sure to be wrapped in warm arms and carried around for hours on end while she sings children’s songs. This warm, friendly personality of hers is what made her an unlikely choice to be the ice queen of Mahogany city, but somehow, when it gets down to a good old fashioned battle, she can usually put aside appearances (so cute though!) and bloody up an opponent the same as any gym leader before her.
Biography Goldenrod City, home to the Johto league daycare center, and the birth place of the soon to be Ice type gym leader. It was here that Estelle grew up. Born the daughter of two Pokemon breeders, and the granddaughter of the Day-Care couple, as everyone refers to them, Estelle was almost destined to end up a Pokemon Breeder. As a very young child she would spend her days in the day-care center, chasing around Pokemon or wrapping her arms around their necks and being dragged about the yard for hours. Once, at the age of two, she’d latched onto a particularly mean looking Kangaskhan. Her family was terrified the Pokemon would throw her about or hurt her, but instead it took her in like its own child, lowering a small Estelle into its pouch where she fell asleep curled up together with the baby. She grew very attached to both the mother and baby Kangaskhan, so when the day came that their trainer came back for them she was determined not to see them off. Hoping that it would keep her with the pair forever, Estelle kept herself hidden in the mother’s pouch until finally her grandmother had to grab her by the arm and drag the screaming two year old into another room so she wouldn’t make a scene. That love and attachment to Pokemon never subsided. When she was six, just coming back from a day at school, her grandparents handed her an egg upon entering the daycare center. There was a Sealeo they’d been watching for some time that had been rather precious to Estelle, so when the trainer decided they didn’t want to keep the egg it had landed on Estelle who should be the one to keep it. Still only a child, the young girl hardly understood the amount of responsibility that was being handed to her that particular afternoon, but she’d soon find out. She brandished the egg in front of her mother late that evening when they returned to their own home, and it was her mother who showed her how to care for the egg, helping her keep it warm in her backpack in such a way that it wouldn’t be crushed. For a long time she got away with carrying it in her backpack to and from school, but the day it hatched that became almost impossible. The spheal that hatched from the egg was perhaps one of the cutest and most precious things she’d ever seen, and because it was so cute Estelle was extremely opposed to putting it in a pokeball for quite a long time, the problem was, within a day or two of its birth the Spheal had already gained enough weight it was heavier than its owner, making it downright impossible to carry. And yet she tried, even as her spheal grew heavier and heavier with each passing day, Estelle would still exert every ounce of energy she had trying to carry the little ball of blubber to and from school with her. As silly as that probably sounds, it was the best bonding experience the two ever had. After a month of Estelle carrying the Pokemon, Spheal had grown attached to her. It would sleep in her bed every night, then wake her up by rolling over until she was pushed out of bed. Even after Veronica had told Estelle she could no longer take the Pokemon to school with her, her spheal would still try to scoot along the ground to follow her every morning until someone came to stop it, and it would be sitting there, waiting, when she came home at the end of the day. When she did get home they’d play together in the pond behind the day-care center, pretending that Spheal was the king of the sea and she was a human girl who wished for nothing more than to be a mermaid and live in the ocean with the king. This sort of play lasted for years, and because spheal never did much battling back then it remained the same cute little ball of chub through Estelle’s tenth birthday. It was during one of these play sessions when she was eight that Estelle met a young trainer who would one day become one of the most influential people she ever met, though she didn’t know it at the time. His name was Ridick, grandson of the previous Mahogany town gym leader, Pryce, and a trainer three years her senior. The first day he stumbled into the Day-care center he was a juvenile brat with no experience in Pokemon breeding, and his ignorance was the most bothersome thing Estelle had ever seen at that age. She was playing with Spheal in the pond when Ridick showed up, toting around a brand new Shellder his grandfather had given him for his birthday. Rather than leave her be, he had to be the usual little boy, and decided to tug her hair back so hard that when he released she went tumbling into the pond in her nice clothes. She hated the idea that a trainer like that would be responsible for something as sweet as Shellder, but there was nothing she could do to save the Pokemon from him. She didn’t realize that Ridick and his Pokemon were nearly attached at the hip, so when they returned with Pryce to visit her grandparents a year later they were perfectly in synch. In that year since their first meeting, Ridick had spent his time training, and it was clear he intended to one day take over his grandfather’s gym, so it was no surprise that when he challenged Estelle to her first pokemon battle he beat her into the dust.
That first Pokemon battle sparked something in her. She grew to love the idea of travelling the world and seeing new Pokemon, and training became a major goal for her, so that by the time she turned eleven it was all she could think about. By then Spheal had evolved into Sealeo, and she’d managed to convince it to stay in a pokeball so she could carry it around. That’s where the journey really began. At the age of eleven, Estelle and her Sealeo, who she’d nicknamed Poseidon by then, set off to obtain every gym badge and prove her to be a great trainer.
Eight years later, and now recognized as a fantastic trainer, Estelle was approached by a familiar face, except rather than being disturbed by his very existence, Riddick’s presence made her smile. It had been a long time since they’d last seen each other, and the sight of a face she remember from her childhood brought a smile to her face. He was twenty-two, handsome, and a great deal more caring with his Pokemon than he had been with a child. The two immediately reconciled the differences of their childhood and grew to become close friends; they trained together, travelled together, they even shared Pokemon and considered a future as elite four trainers together. It might have been the biggest mistake she ever made. In all that time together they’d developed a great deal of affection toward one another, but it made the follow up news rather difficult. Just after Riddick had turned twenty-three and they were celebrating his grandfather’s retirement, the old man came up with one cruel challenge for the two of them. Though he’d promised the gym to his grandson, he demanded that Riddick battle Estelle once more, as they had as children, to determine if he deserved it. Should he fail, the gym would be put in Estelle’s hands, for Pryce had grown fond of her love for Pokemon as it had been described by her grandparents, his friends. The battle tore the young lovers apart. Not only did Estelle defeat Riddick, but she’d done so in front of his entire family. He was humiliated and upset, and it wasn’t long after that the two of them split. Estelle tried very hard to regain his affection, she’d gone so far as to find an ancient fossil of an ice pokemon which he could be fond of, but rather than accept the gift he’d thrown it back in her face. She was heartbroken, and all that was left to fall back on was a hunk of rock and a gym she’d yet to earn. Now twenty years old and alone she reverted to her old ways, putting her time and energy into Pokemon breeding and restoring her fossilized Pokemon. It wasn’t long lived; Pryce gave her only a month to sulk before forcing her onto the S.S. Destiny to take the Mark of Leadership exam.

○ Poseidon | #365 Walrein | ♂ | 250
Pokemon's Type: Ice/Water Pokemon's Nature: Calm Pokemon's Ability Thick Fat Pokemon's Moveset: Hail, Blizzard, Rest, & Snore Held Item: Leftovers Pokemon's Backstory: Estelle raised Poseidon from an egg she received when she was six. Until he was too heavy to carry she would bring him everywhere. The two are inseparable, and while they get on each other’s nerves every once in a while, Poseidon would never be happy with any other trainer, and no other Walrein could replace him. ○ Fossil | #698 Amaura| ♀| 195
Pokemon's Type: Rock/Ice Pokemon's Nature: Timid Pokemon's Ability Refrigerate Pokemon's Moveset: Takedown, Ice Beam, Ancient Power, & Mist Held Item: NeverMeltIce Pokemon's Backstory: Fossil was an actual fossil for quite a long time. When Estelle was trying to repair her relationship with her love she offered the fossil to him as a gift, but when the notion was rejected she took to restoring the fossil for herself. The pokemon’s occasional lapses in interest for Estelle seem almost derived from this, as if it still feels promised to Riddick instead of the woman who holds it, or that’s the excuse Estelle uses. She won’t admit that she probably over cuddles the Amaura and that’s the reason it actually keeps its distance from her in public. That said, in private Fossil clings to her, calling out to her like a mother and nibbling on her skirt when she doesn’t pay it enough attention.

[Relationship Information] Friends: ○ Character Name as Url Link | Force | Relationship Type Releationship Explanation
Enemies: ○ Pryce | Retired, living in Mahogany Town| Predecessor Gym Leader He’s her predecessor, she should envy him and treasure him, but he was a bitter old man far too often, and he was the whole reason she and Riddick had to end their relationship. She’ll never forgive him for it.
Family: ○ Veronica Caldwell | Goldenrod City| Mother Veronica and Estelle are as close as a mother and daughter can be. They share secrets, they gossip like teenage girls, and have the same obsession with cute Pokemon. If there’s ever anything Estelle needs or someone she needs to count on, there’s always her mother. ○ Isaac Caldwell | Goldenrod City| Father In truth, Estelle and her father don’t have much of a relationship. That isn’t to say there’s anything malicious between them, in fact they are very close, but as a child it was always her mother who taught her how to breed Pokemon, not her father. ○ The Day-Care Couple | Johto, Route 34| Grandparents Estelle spent every afternoon of her childhood at their house. They introduced her to Pokemon breeding, they gave her the egg that contained Poseidon, and they’re her mother’s parents, how could she ever dislike them? They’ve been nothing but kind to her, it wasn’t their fault they were friends with Pryce or that they suggested she become his replacement gym leader. Okay, so she’s a little bitter about that, but she doesn’t love her grandparents any less.
Romantic Relationships: ○ Riddick | | Recently Broken-up Riddick is Pryce’s grandson, and unfortunately both a love and a rival for Estelle. They were childhood friends when they were very young, but as soon as he had a Pokemon they became rivals in a way, though their relationship was more like a gradeschool boy bullying the girl he liked. When they were older, they reunited as trainers and became romantically involved, but as of lately it has fallen by the wayside. After Estelle snaked the Mahogany Town Gym out from beneath him he never forgave her, and their relationship suffered immensely.

Blackthorne City - Single Battle - Unique - Dragon Type - Rising Badgel_l T I G G E R l_l [General Information] Name: [Mikael Rose] Nicknames: [The Young Dragon] Age: [Nineteen] Birthday: [August Twenty-Second] Gender: [Male] Ethnicity: [Johto, White] Hometown: [Blackthorne, Johto] Current Residence: [Blackthorne, Johto is his residence but he travels]
[Personal Information] Occupation: [Dragon Tamer] Sexuality: [Heterosexual] Likes: [Training, Battle, Dragons, Rain, Smoking, Ambitious People] Dreams: [To catch Giratina and be known as the strongest Dragon Tamer in the world] Dislikes: [Bad trainers, Trainers who don't know their limits, Ice Type Pokemon, Any trainer who thinks another type is superior to dragons] Fears: [Finding a dragon he cannot tame, Not living up to the Dragon Sage's expectations] Intelligence Level: [Very smart when it comes to taming dragons and battling, but as smart as he is when it comes to dragons and battling he is bad with people] Strengths: [Dragon Taming Prodigy, Great at battling] Weaknesses: [Overconfident in his abilities, bad at dealing with people, not as much experience as older dragon tamers]
Cherished Items: [A dragon tooth from an ancient dragon given to him by his father that he wears around his neck. His father gave it to him before he left to find Giratina and tame it.]
Personality [Mikael has a strong personality, and while that works great with dragon type pokemon, his brutal honesty doesn't always fly so well with other people. He's very passionate with his training, and thinks that strength and the bond between pokemon and trainer go hand in hand, especially with dragons. Therefore weakness in a pokemon comes from the weakness in a trainer and he is very vocal about this. At the same time, he gives credit where credit is due and is just as vocal when he sees something that he thinks is strong. He's overconfident in his own abilities being young and somewhat inexperienced and sometimes that gets him into rough situations, especially with wild dragons.]
Biography [As most children in Blackthorne city did, Mikael was raised around dragons from his first steps, to his first pokemon. However among all of the dragons in Blackthorne the ones he felt closest to were his father's. Nathaniel was one of the best dragon tamers Blackthorne had ever produced, and he taught his son everything he knew about dragons as he grew up, teaching Mikael about their different personality types, traits, and abilities. Yet his father sought to capture the most elusive dragon type pokemon, Giratina. Who only shows itself in the rarest of circumstances. Unable to do that in Blackthorne, he left, leaving Mikael with his very own Dratini to raise.
Mikael and his dratini set out from Blackthorne when he was ten so Mikael could put his knowledge to the test and tame his own dragons as many of Blackthorne's citizens chose to do. Over the next eight years the boy grew and traveled all over the world, to every region he could learning about the dragon pokemon there, and taming the strongest he could find. Upon returning to Blackthorne Mikael had proven his skill as the youngest dragon tamer in Blackthorne to be as strong as he was. Eager to prove himself, he sought the dragon saints, who were on the hunt for the newest gym leader. After their time with Mikael, they realized his potential and decided to send him to Inheritance Island to obtain the Mark of Leadership, hoping that his time on the island would give him the humility he lacked to become the gym leader he could be.]

[Personal Information] Occupation: [Character's Job] Sexuality: [Homosexual] Likes: [Books, Studying, Risk Taking, Mechanics, Pokemon(duh), Guys(mmm), Making People Uncomfortable, Winning ] Dreams: [He has several such dreams. One, of course, he wants to take over the gym. Two, he wants to be able to walk again. Three, he does want to eventually find that special someone.] Dislikes: [Being Told He Can't Do Something, His Immobility, People Taller Than Him, Boring People] Fears: [Deep Bodies of Water, Shipyards, Hospitals] Intelligence Level: [Kentaron is generally regarded as a genius, both in terms of pokemon and outside of it as well. While he does devote most of this to pokemon, he has a very wide knowledge base.] Strengths: [He has always valued his intellect as his strongest feature. His mind is quite capable of examining situations and quickly producing potential solutions. He also has a knack for putting people off their game, pushing their buttons. What information he doesn't know, he is good at obtaining, through whatever research required.] Weaknesses: [He's fairly vulnerable to his own tactics, and can be easily manipulated into doing something by saying he can't do it. He and his pokemon aren't particularly strong, physically at least.] Gym: [Aspertia Gym] Gym Specialty: [Normal] Gym Badge: [Basic Badge]
Cherished Items: [A vial filled with the moustache hair of the Alakazam who helped him out through the early stages of being an amputee. He keeps it on a leather cord around his neck. Also, an old wedding magazine, though of suits for men. It's seen a lot of abuse, odd stains, pages torn and sloppily taped back together. The whole thing looks like it's about to fall apart. He got his hands on it before his accident, looking through it as a kid, and it helps serve as a reminder that not all his dreams had been affected by the tragedy that befell him.]
Personality [Kentaron seems like a nice person at first. Happy, loud, with a sort of carefree daredevil attitude. The facade generally fools most, though it's mainly for himself. Despite this, he doesn't make a lot of friends. He prefers his books, and always seems to have a couple on him. With time though, the cracks in this good person mask start showing. He has few qualms about manipulating people into whatever situation he feels would amuse him or get him what he wants.
Kent has yet to resolve his issues with losing his legs, leaving a sour stew of emotions inside. He holds a resentment in him to most people, envious of their wholeness. He also has a lot of anger inside, and when pressed too hard, or in certain situations, he can almost explode and will lash out verbally in whatever way he thinks will hurt the other the most.]
Biography [Kentaron had a fairly normal childhood, and probably would have been just like any other kid. He was born to two artist parents in Castelia. He was a smart kid, just lacking any common sense or commitment. His parents were very lax with him, and he was easily able to escape from under their eyes to play with his friends, running about the city. He dreamed about being a pokemon trainer, taking on the elite four and besting the champion of the region. He had a baby brother, and properly pouted about all the attention the baby got, but eventually got over it, sneaking his brother out to explore. Kentaron was nine when he and his brother decided to sneak onto the unloading docks, where huge shipping containers were being moved about. The crane operator was new, and accidentally knocked another of the metal boxes over. Kentaron managed to push his brother out of the way, but didn't quite make it out himself, his legs crushed beneath the weight, passing out from the pain. His brother and the harbor workers called for the doctors. They had to perform an emergency amputation then and there or he would have died before they could free his legs.
Kentaron woke up in the hospital a few days later, drowsy still on pain medicine. He went into a depressed state, not really talking as his physical wounds healed, just slept and watched the television. It wasn't until the Alakazam, Shazam, came that he started coming out of his shell. The pokemon was assigned to him for the early stages of helping him get used to his condition. Shazam didn't take the boy's attitude at all, helping him get to do everyday tasks once more with the detriment of his wheelchair. Kent grew quite attached to the pokemon, to the point he almost cried when he had to go. Kent was left with a token reminder of his friend, and a desire to make something of himself. He buried his emotions about what had happened, devoting himself to books. He took to acquiring knowledge like a fish to water. His tenth birthday came and passed, the dream of being a pokemon trainer quashed in his mind. He ended up talking with his parents, and moving to Aspertia City for the Trainer school, managing to acquire a small place there to stay on his own under his assistance. His parents gave him an egg produced by the Smeargle's they had as his pokemon.
So Kent came to study under Cheren, the Normal-type Gym leader. The library and systems there provided a fountain of information for him to absorb. He wasn't sure what he was going to do yet. He studied other subjects, and while he knew he could excel at any he really set his mind to, he couldn't just abandon being a Trainer. His Smeargle was growing up, slowly becoming a more capable battler, the crafty nature of Kent forming winning strategies. Compensating for the natural weakness of his pokemon, he had to resort to tricks and move combinations to win. Lyra's Sketch ability allowed him to try many different move combinations. Cheren saw potential in him, but the two of them didn't mesh particularly well, Kent's style and single-minded personality at the time was rather resistant to being taught by anyone. So Cheren sent him to his own former mentor, Lenora. She'd stayed in her museum, and Kent was just as resistant to the tutelage. But she kept beating him, again and again, and he grudgingly had to admit that perhaps he could learn a thing or two from her. He stayed there for a year and a half, and even went on a couple of her archeological digs. He met Vera in the city, the Furfrou alone and disheveled. Kent took her in, taking care of her.
When he returned to Aspertia, Cheren offered him a choice. Kent could stay, and be taught by Cheren, or the gym leader could use some of his clout, and probably get him a position to help out Professor Juniper as an assistant. Kent decided to stay on as a trainer, and he excelled quickly once he started listening to the other. Recently, Cheren has been thinking of traveling the world, and has decided that Kent should replace him if he can earn his Mark of Leadership.]

The trips became less frequent as Caspian started at school but he would still enjoy the luxury of the sea surrounding Himilau City. Caspian performed well at school but was constantly yearning for a Pokemon adventure. For a life harmonious with the sea.
Just before Caspian finished school, just before his eleventh birthday, Caspian's dad took him out for the day to show him how to catch Pokemon. They went out to sea on the back of Blastoise and took sandwiches and juice so they could stay out at sea for a while. The sea was calm but Caspian's dad was baiting the water around them. It was awhile before anything but fish were around them but eventually a single Azuril emerged out of the water. The Azuril was far from in a battling mood and since it was a baby Pokemon it was far from capable of putting up much of a fight. It was laughing in between competing with the fish for breadcrumbs. Caspian's dad laughed, followed by Caspian and Caspian's dad handed Caspian a Poke ball. Caspian threw the Poke ball at the Azuril which bounced of its head and it opened. the Azuril vanished as it was hit by a red light.and became encapsulated within the ball. The ball landed in the water and glowed red at the clasp. It spun a few times and then stopped and the light dissipated. Caspian fished the ball out of the water with a net, he had caught his first Pokemon.
After he finished school, Caspian set off on his own Pokemon adventure with his new friend Azuril. He explored the majority of the Unova region and other regions further afield training his Pokemon. It was made evident to him that he wanted to become the world's greatest Water-Type Gym Leader.

Cianwood City - Single Battle - Fame - Fighting Type - Storm BadgeVynessacle [General Information] Name: Vynessa Clair Lucretia Everton Nicknames: Vyn, Nessa Age: 27 Birthday: November 9th Gender: Female Ethnicity: Johto, Caucasian Hometown: Goldenrod, Johto Current Residence: Cianwood, Johto
[Personal Information] Occupation: Leader in-training, freelance mechanic Sexuality: Heterosexual Likes: Learning new skills, Fixing things, Engines, Lemon Cheesecake, Stars, Brawling, Challenges, Exploring, Generally having a good time, The colour yellow, Fluffy pokemon, (pokemon in general), Helping people & Water fronts. Dreams:To become a great leader and be as obscure as her predecessor, Chuck. Additionally, she wishes to still have enough freedom to go off on flights of fancy. Dislikes: Pleather, Floral Patterns, Giving Up , Being asked to cook, Avocado, Losing her hip flask, Admitting she is hurt, Seeing friends upset, Having to sit still for an extended period of time & the incapability of overcoming her fears. Fears: Despite being a grown woman who would likely stare into a void just to see what would happen, she has a fear of the species Ursaring. She becomes hot under the collar, tries to remain composed (which for a start is out of character) and often finds a reason to vacate the vicinity. Being blinded is an offshoot of the Ursaring fear. Another rather irrational fear would be having to cook a whole, edible, meal. The thought of letting others see how little she actually knows disturbs her. Intelligence Level: Despite her and un-orthodox apparel, Vyn is actually has a wealth of knowledge and is above average in intelligence. She likes to use her knowledge to her advantage, perceiving different outcomes to any given situation and is forever developing her skills and know-how on just about everything she can get her feet over or hands on... Except cooking. She disagree's with cooking. Her pokemon level of cooking knowledge would be magicarp. Strengths: She is an mechanical engineer by trait, forever optimistic and skilled in survival and self defense. Weaknesses: First off, the woman flat-out can't cook. She has no consideration for personal boundaries and can get cosy with strangers, essentially forcing herself on them until they accept her or otherwise. Additionaly, Vynessa will become rather reckless when concerning her own physical limitations. This has caused her and others great trauma. Gym: Cianwood City Gym Gym Specialty: Fighting type Gym Badge: Storm Badge Cherished Items: The goggles she bears were once her mothers driving goggles. They are now her head accessory and are actually rather practical when lying under an engine. Personality Vynessa is an intuitive individual, and is forever finding something (or someone) to occupy herself with in order to inhibit boredom; Such activities may not necessarily be considered productive in a standard light, but Vyn cares little for the norm. The young woman loves the unexpected, as it always brings new things into perspective that she can learn from, even if she injures herself in the process. A dusting of irony, a lot of spontaneity and an instinctive urge to improve her understanding, has meant she has been caught between a rock and a hard place on more than one occasion, however through perseverance and an inherent stubbornness meant she prevailed. Even if the odds don't appear to be in her favor, Vynessa will not allow herself to give up. If she gave up, she would never be able to better her knowledge or explore the world she found so fascinating. Besides, where is the fun in surrendering to a sprained wrist or two? Additionally, the blonde is considerate and aware of others feelings, even if she ignores their personal boundaries. She likes to help those in need, and will always try to do so as a memento to when her brother thought of her own safety and well being before his own; Such is the reason she will not yield to injury.
Biography Vynessa spent the first 10 years of her life in Goldenrod City Johto. She had, at this point, already had a torchic, Brandy, as a pet for three years, but now came the time for it to truly become her partner as they set off on a journey. Not the standard pokemon journey overseen by the Proffessor of the region, but a journey non the less. It wasn't anything extravagant. Vynessa's first journey mostly consisted of heading up to the pokemon park north of the bustling town and down to Ilex forest. She would play in and around the trees, exploring the dark and dense woodland; Many occasions Vynessa and Brandy would head to shrine and pray, because that was what you did at a shrine. After a few months of this, Her brother Kyle proposed taking her up to Blackthorn and Route 46 on a camping trip, to which no-one objected. Vyn was ecstatic. Her brother was a fully fledged pokemon trainer with all the badges of Johto. In her eyes, he was so very amazing. If he was going to take her camping, she was without a doubt going to go. The first 5 days wen't off without a cinch. The 6th however, not so much. Vynessa had stumbled across a group of teddiursa rolling around. Keen to get a better look, she approached them and pet the small bears, who all seemed rather indifferent. Their mother on the otherhand, not so much; She had later learned that it was exceedingly rare, almost unheard of that an Ursaring would be on Route 45, one however, was. Vynessa screamed as the towering bear roared at her. Kyle heard the scream and ran to her aid, leaping into the mix and telling Vyn to run. She called back for him to come with her. His response consisted of 'See you soon' with a smile. Wthout any prior warning, he had his Xatu teleport Vyn away. The girl was distraught. what had happened to her brother? She confided in Brandy who seemed optimistic about his return. Vyn looked at the chic, and her wails turned to nods of agreement. Yea, he said 'See you soon'. Kyle wasn't the kind of guy who went back on his word. Two days the girl was in Blackthorn, often checking the bridge that lead out of the city. On the eve of the second, she spotted her brother, walking up in the distance. He seemed to be limping and... what was that on his head? Running up to him, she was shocked to see his right eye bandaged up. Apparently the Mother Ursaring had swatted at Kyle. He had managed to dodge the full impact, but was still struck. This horrified her. He didn't seem to care too extensively that he had been blinded in the right eye, but it did make catching things difficult in the coming years.
Now twelve and living with her brother in Cianwood ( He had gotten a job as an operative in the developing safari zone) Vyn had learned that you should never let an injury get in your path. This was something that also seemed to resonate with the local Gym leader, a portly man who was not afraid to spar with his own pokemon. She would often head over to the gym and watch him fight, Brandy by her side. He was so intense, and seemed to love it. She found it funny when he broke down into tears. That was a sight to see. It happened more often than not too. In between her visits to watch the large man fight with his machoke, Vynessa had headed off and up to the safari zone to visit her brother working. Unable to see him that day, she instead headed out into the fields, leaving Brandy to happily roam the gate house. This was when she obtained a little mushroom of a pokemon, shroomish. She called him Bourbon, and together with Brandy, continued to go and watch the gym leader do strange things. Vynessa eventually met the gym leaders wife, who said her husband, Chuck, spent far too much time un-neccesarily breaking rocks than being a leader or husband. Deciding to try to help the woman, Vynessa declared that she would get him to spend more time with her. The wife chortled, calling Vynessa a funny kid, but was grateful of the notion. At thirteen, Brandy had evolved into a Combusken. Some would say 'after 6 years it is about time', but Vynessa never actually battled with Brandy, so there was no need for her to evolve. Vynessa had since made herself known to the Gym leader by almost replicating his bizarre antics. On no wednesday inn particular, she and Brandy headed straight over to Chuck, showing the now half fighting type off to the fighting master. This was the start of the pairs friendship. As the years progressed, Vynessa would head over to the gym on wednesday's and spar with some of the pokemon, having a good time whilst doing it. the years progressed, She watched trainers battle Chuck, Brandy and Bourbon both evolved and imaginative conversations would occur between herself and her mentor, one of them involving a waterfall. At fifteen, Vynessa moved back to Goldenrod to take an internship at her fathers workshop (however it was now a full time industry that actually had empoyee's). After two years of working, and roaming the Johto/Kanto regions Vynessa returned to Cianwood to see Chuck still breaking rocks, brawling, and battling trainers. It was as if nothing had changed.
Over the two years she had been away, she had of course visited (Johto wasn't that large) but always returned to the mainland. Now seventeen, and having hit a growth spurt that was unnatural for a female, standing at 5'10" she proposed She and Chuck battle. A real 'nothing to do with pokemon battle'. He was more than happy to oblige. They spared a few times and had a few sandwiches (Chuck having more than a 'few') and then Vynessa proposed they implement a waterfall into the dojo. He was enthralled by the idea. Lead by the budding young woman, the Gym members collaborated and created a manual waterfall. Chuck was besides himself in joyful tears, a sight Vyn was happy to have made happen.
The following decade consisted of much of the same. Vyn would roam, come home, fight in the gym, and then roam some more. When roaming, the blonde often found herself in libraries, ruins and under engines whenever she passed someone in need. Back in Cianwood, It was an honour being an honourary member of the gym team. It wasn't too great for the trainers who came to battle whenever she was around however. Not only was there another loon doing stuff that had 'nothing to do with pokemon', she was also the reason that trainers had to go and turn off a waterfall (not that that was too difficult) before they could get Chuck's attention. After the many years, Vynessa casually proposed that Chuck go see his wife some more. Their relationship at this point was far more that of friends than mentor and student. To her surprise, he agreed! Well that was unexpected. What was more unexpected however, was that he started speaking of retirement. It was true, as far as Gym leaders went, he was defiantly getting older, (Not that age had much to do with anything, after all, there had been Pryce in Mahogany town) and 'apparently' he had started to develop migraines after the intense training beneath the water fall. Who could have predicted that? Conversations ensued, and he suggested she take over. Who better than a fellow sparing enthusiast? Vynessa mulled over the thought, and then agree'd. Not only had she managed to keep her word to Chucks wife, she had also managed to make a name for herself after traveling all those years. Vynessa would be the next leader of Cianwood... but first, she would have to head out to get her Mark of Leadership. Well that sounded like a fun adventure.

Held Item: Toxic orb Pokemon's Backstory: This was the first pokemon Vyn caught in the safari zone after she recently moved to Cianwood and the second pokemon she obtained in total. She caught the little mushroom after tripping over it and getting doused in a Stun spore. The Shroom felt pleased with his accomplishments and paraded around her motionless body. After a good twenty minutes, Vyn started to move again, and, bizarrely, asked if he could do it gain. The shroom was initially startled by the request, not sure what was being asked and ran around for a bit. Eventually, after a game of charades (and some bait) he doused her again. This went on for a further hour or so, Vyn, whittling down the time she remained paralyzed. When the young Vynessa finally decided to take off, she was followed by the shroom. It was then that she caught him, naming him Bourbon, after a chocolate biscuit. He has been by her side for 15 years.

She obtained the Torchic When on a weekend trip to Saffron City in the neighboring region of Kanto. Herself, father and brother took the train from their hometown (Goldenrod) to Saffron city on a 'business' trip, her father being a contracted mechanic was called for some reason or another. Vynessa's older brother took the young girl to the Silph Co. headquarters to look around and immerse herself in 'stuff'. One of the things she took interest in was a cheery torchic nestled in a plant pot. The critter went unnoticed by the adult officials, but the intuitive child found the bird and decided to take it with her. No-one stopped her when they finally exited the building, for who would remove a pokemon from a child's grasp? None in that building, that's for sure. Her brother nor father questioned how she obtained the torchic, and it went home with them once the weekend had, well, ended. That fateful encounter was 20 years ago.

Weaknesses: Fairy types! He gets slightly thrown off when knowing his opponent is not from Kanto or Johto, feeling as though he should expect something different. He does not use Curse for fear of injuring his own Pokemon, and any opponents resistant to Will-o-wisp provides a good advantage. Gym: Ecruteak City Gym Gym Specialty: Ghost Gym Badge: Fog Badge
Cherished Items: A spell tag, given to him by Morty. A Rainbow wing, given to him by the Kimono girls, made into a pendant. Its power has only successfully been used once to supposedly call to the Legendary Bird of life during the Ash Festival. A small story book, containing the stories of Ho-oh and the three legendary beasts.
Personality For someone who has dealt with ghosts and sages for nearly his whole life, Daemon is surprisingly lively. He is kind hearted and always eager to both learn from and share his knowledge with others, even with those who could be considered outsiders. He consistently give others the benefit of the doubt as people, but truly earning his respect is something else entirely. He can sense the power in people to some extent, and that hold more value than being able to hold a pleasant conversation with him- which he still appreciates. However, all this changes when he steps onto the battlefield, were he seems to call on the ferocity and wisdom of the warriors of old Johto that he'd studies.
Biography Daemon wasn't born into anything grandiose or particularly well off, and with Ecruteak City Gym leaders having been picked out of fame it hardly seemed like the boy would make the cut. Regardless he seemed to catch the attention of people by hanging around in all the right places. Morty had encountered him many a time hanging around by the Burned Tower, which was no place for children, however, it was this "dangerous" place that brought Daemon into an encounter with his very first Pokemon. At the foot of a crumbling statue lay what the young Daemon though was simply a discarded sword. He intended to pick up the neglected object- it was just his size- and give it to one of the sages when the Pokemon Honedge revealed its true nature. It stuck to him and refused to let go. When his family found out, they took him to the Mediums of Morty's gym, hoping to prevent their son's soul from being consumed- as they knew Honedge was capable of doing, yet the Pokemon seemed benign, and the two got along surprisingly well. After that point, whenever he was shooed away form the towers by either the Gym leader or the Sages, he went to the Kimono Girl's Dance Theater, and watched them, almost every performance without fail. The youngest of the sisters recognized his face in the crowd, and challenged him to his very first battle. Naturally, he lost, and as the challenged continued he continued to lose each time as well. He couldn't notice, on account of lack of victory, but his power and synergy between his Pokemon and himself seemed to wax each time, until one day he came back to Bell tower. Naturally, as he indicated his desire to see inside of the tower to pay his respects to the Pokemon Ho-oh he was stopped and challenged by the Sages of the Barrier station and defeat each of them with his partner Gilgamesh, much to the surprise of the sages; they'd never seen the Pokemon Doublade except within legends, where possession of such a creature was a trait of ancient kings. Even as they were defeated, Daemon was stopped an prevented from proceeding, and rather than leave as ordered, he simply stayed put, refusing to budge from the spot. Finally Morty was called in, and it was only then that Daemon responded. As many others before him had been told, one of the requirements to proceed was the Fog badge, and so Daemon challenged the gym leader on the spot. After three successive battle, he and his Pokemon were strained, and were no match for Morty's team ghost type Pokemon. Defeated and disappointed, Daemon left, and returned home. The sages were simply relieved to have the nuisance out of their tower, but Morty saw something in the young man that the others hadn't. It took only a few days for a letter to appear in the mail from none other than the Ecruteak City Gym leader himself. It seemed as though he'd been interested enough to conduct a private investigation. He had clearly been thoroughly impressed by their battle in the tower, and he seemed delighted to discover that the very same person was an avid student of history in Johto. After that point people had reported seeing Morty training Daemon in the art of battling in private, and it was suspected that Morty had joined Daemon in his studies as well, since he no longer studied at home. The gym leader had found who he wished to be his successor, but in regards to the way that Ecruteak Gym Leaders were chosen, his word was far from sufficient to make that happen. The training was long and rigorous, and word of the gym leader's "apprentice" seemed to make its way around the city, but the traditional, conservative sort of personality that was popular in Ecruteak did not seem to want that change to happen, but Morty knew that he couldn't be the one to challenge for the Fog Badge forever. He began to take Daemon with him on every trip to the sacred towers, and during the ceremonies to celebrate the culture and history of Ecruteak City and the legends of Johto. Perhaps the most significant step up in his fame came from one such festivals where Morty fell ill, and asked Daemon to take his place. He was assured that his role in the festival would be masked, as the "Hero of Johto" in a reenactment during which said hero fought of the evil souls which attacked Ecruteak and drove them off, but not before they set fire to the old Burned tower, a blaze which engulfed the tower and ended the life of the three legendary beasts. He fulfilled his role perfectly, and wept for the lives lost, and called down the Bird of Life to restore them, adding his own twist that he thought would add profound effect. As he "called" for Ho-oh, he procured the Rainbow Wing trinket that had been given to him by the Kimono girl's ages ago. The crowd was awestruck, when even as night came, rumor had it that a light as bright as the sun illuminated the town as the true Legendary bird was summoned down from the Bell Tower in the middle of the ceremony. When the reenactment ended the crowd erupted in applause, and it seemed undeniable that the young man who had once been nobody was a shoe-in for the next Gym Leader once Morty retired.

Much like the sword that was his Honedge, an artifact called out to him, an old stone. When he picked it up, his efforts were rewarded when the stone burned him, and as he threw the stone from him, Spiritomb emerged; a terrible omen in his city. The Pokemon haunted him for ages until he finally battled and captured the being.

This tends to bite him in the butt if the challenge is too great, like trying to wrestle his mentor Brawly's Hariyama, but other times, it allowed him to persevere against the odds, like when Brawly first taught him surfing.
Azlano can also be quite single minded in what he wants. If he wants to fight you, he will stop at nothing until he gets that chance to fight you. If he wants a piece of cake, he will get that piece of cake.
Otherwise, Azlano can be kind, respectful, even a gentleman to other people, though he can be quite silly with some of his antics and hates not doing anything. In fact Brawly once remarked that to Azlano, training Pokemon is easy, but fishing is nearly impossible.
Biography
Azlano grew up in the seaside town of Dewford. A quiet town that, to him, was the purest definition of paradise. The sun shined bright, the waves lapped against the beach, and Pokemon where everywhere. As a kid, he always wanted to be mentored by the Gym Leader Brawly, and was fascinated everytime a rookie trainer came to Dewford and challenged him to see if they can conquer 'The Big Wave'. And as the second Gym Leader many a trainer in Hoenn faced, these challenges came often, as such for the young boy, there was no shortage of Pokemon battles to fuel the growing desire to train with Brawly.
But you can't train with The Big Wave until you have a Pokemon that can handle the pressure, so Azlano would constantly search around Dewford for his partner, but every day, he would come up empty. His parents asked him to be patient and wait, but at that age, being patient basically was like giving up to him, and that was something he just couldn't do. That was when the first inklings of his desire to move away from Dewford Town and roam the world formed in his mind.
It was one trip into the Granite Caves of Dewford that almost costed him his life. Having never been in the caves before, when he went in looking for his own Pokemon, with no supplies, thinking it was gonna be a quick peek in and back out. But he became lost in the caves and couldn't find his way out. If it wasn't for a rock collector finding the young boy, hungry and tired, Azlano would never have made it. He never went into the caves again until much later in his life, and even learned to fear caves.
At the age of 8, he finally got his chance to travel when he won an one week all expense paid trip with his parents to Slateport City. It was there that his parents were convinced to buy a Pokemon Egg from a Merchant, stating that it was a rare type of Pokemon that is not found in Hoenn. Knowing of his desire to have his first Pokemon, they gave Azlano the Egg and told him that is was his responsibility to take care of it. At the end of the trip, while they were sailing back to Dewford, the egg hatched into a small, strange bipedal bird with red wings and what looked the markings of a mask on it's face. Azlano had his first Pokemon, yet he doesn't even know what kind he is. Even without this information, he loved the little guy all the same.
He had this new Pokemon had a wonderful time throughout the years, and his parents noticed a change in their son. He was much happier and content with staying in Dewford, but his desire to be trained by Brawly was even more intense. He began to train this new Pokemon, who he named Sora, and it was Brawly, his idol, who first noticed Azlano and Sora. He encouraged Azlano to continue practicing, as he is holding a competition to pick his new disciples in one months time. At this time, Azlano was around 12.
One month later, after he and Sora trained their hardest, they participated in the competition, determined to be Brawly's new disciples. The pint sized Pokemon hardly looked like a match for the kids with Machops, Makuhita's, and Meditite's, but Sora proved them wrong, effortlessly matching the more heavily muscular opposition with speed and maneuverability. Impressed, Brawly took on Azlano as a new disciple and Azlano's childhood dream was now a reality. The red headband he wears around his head was a gift from Brawly, symbolizing the fighting spirit that Azlano showed.
For six long years, Azlano trained with Brawly, learning how to surf and training in the rough waves and caves around Dewford. He even helped identify Sora as a Hawlucha, information Azlano never knew for over four years. It was in the caves that Azlano faced his truest test of bravery: the Granite Caves, the same place where he almost lost his life. It was a test he almost backed out of, but Sora and Brawly urged him to face it head on. He came out a changed man, more determined than ever to be the best and make his mentor proud.
It was at the age of 18 that Brawly gave him his final test: he was to leave Dewford Town once again, to take on the Mark of Leadership Trial on the Island of Inheritance. Azlano, although sad to leave his home town, saw this as just another challenge, so tightening his headband, and with his Pokemon, he boarded the S.S. Destiny and left Dewford Town, making this promise to Brawly:
"I will return Brawly. And I will be the next Big Wave!"

Nika: Latios pendent, silver with a small inset sapphire, given to Nika by Alex. 2nd Degree Black Belt, with her name embroidered gold in English and Korean. Kindle, whose worth is not in the object but in the vast library of books stored within.
Personality Together, Alex and Nika can't help but meld their personalities somewhat. They both thoroughly enjoy messing with people by having half-conversations with each other, never finishing sentences because the other knows just what they're going to say. Often they will purposely make it obvious what they're talking about, but leave just enough to the imagination to make it fun. This...is not a good thing.
Alex is certainly the bad influence when it comes to messing with people; Nika's mischievousness is quite curbed when her sister isn't around. Not to say Alex spends all her time doing these things, but rather that her default mode of conversation is through teasing mixed with babble. Most people put up with it though because she's quite adorable when she gets excited about things, and she always means well.
Of the two, Nika is surprisingly the more level-headed. Given the ease with which she associates herself with violence, it's often surprising for people to find that she actually enjoys a lot of the quieter kinds of entertainment. That being said we can't forget that Nika is adventurous and enjoys others' company despite her inclinations to spend time alone.
Biography It's not often that twins are born, and even less so twins that looks exactly alike. It may have been all well and good for twins Alexandra and Veronica if it hadn't been for the ******** The Shining vibe they were giving off. The two seemed to live in their own little world, hands clasped together almost constantly. The way they always spoke in tandem was just plain unnerving. Their parents meant well but they couldn't even hope to understand the connection between the sisters, less so could they fully put behind them how uncomfortable they felt around the twins.
When Alex and Nika reached four years old everything got worse. They began to throw hissy fits and temper tantrums together, so perfectly coordinated in their assault that it often took so long to catch them both that local authorities had to get involved. At that point their mother had had enough and began looking into outlets for the girl's anger and energy. She found a Taekwondo dojang that offered a program for children 3-5 and immediately signed them both up. And so, the psychic twins Alex and Nika became "Little Eagles" at the dojang of Master Kim.
The change was almost instantaneous. Suddenly, the two girls would listen to their parents, and show other people respect as well. They still spoke in unison often, but they began to speak as individuals after they were forced to have different partners than each other after the first couple weeks. They started begging to be taken out to one of their bio-friendly city's parks where they would run around, laughing and playing like actual normal kids, and even sometimes managed to get other kids in on attempting to teach Taekwondo. Needless to say, Alex and Nika's parents were thrilled.
Around the time they were ten, Alex stopped liking Taekwondo so much. She kept going for Nika, but her sister could easily tell Alex wasn't feeling it. Their first fight happened when Alex told Nika she was quitting Taekwondo. The two yelled and screamed at each other, their parents so bewildered at the two fighting that by the time they intervened Alex just stormed off to their room, frustrated that Nika couldn't understand that she just didn't like it that much. Their parents experienced for the first time the odd sensation of splitting up and talking to their girls one on one. Nika's mother spoke to her, explained that of course she didn't have to quit because Alex wanted to, and of course Alex didn't hate her, and when Nika clung to her legs crying she said that of course Nika could sleep with her tonight. Alex's father came to her, sitting beside her bed as she finished screaming into her pillow. He asked her why she wanted to quit, then about what she wanted to do instead. He talked with her a bit more, about other things, until she fell asleep clinging to his shirt sleeve.
That was the day that Nika and Alex began to grow and develop into individuals, the day they finally let go of each other's hand. Shortly after, Nika asked her mom to cut her hair, wanted to not get confused with Alex anymore. Nika became a whirlwind of activity, trying all sorts of things, trying to find what she liked doing. She liked music a lot, and so tried out all sorts of instruments. Eventually she found she liked the piano and guitar the most, though they were a bit cliche. Through all this time, almost a year, the two sisters barely spoke to one another. Nika's bed in their shared room had hardly been slept in since they fought. Their parents were beginning to get truly worried when one day at an outing to a park beyond the city limits two Pokemon sensed how lonely the sisters were, and how dearly they wanted to make up with the other. Twin Ralts came forward from the forest, presenting themselves to the girls, and almost at once it was as if a barrier had been lifted. From then on, they always trained their Pokemon together. Alex came back to practicing Taekwondo, albeit not very intensely, and Nika took enough of an interest in Alex's musical pursuits to learn enough to do simple duets. Though in the end, it turned out shorter hair was better for Taekwondo, so Alex kept it despite her renewed closeness to her sister.
As time went on, the twins gained fame as the best tag team battlers around. Their uncanny ability to know just what the other was going to do lent itself heavily to their strategy. But their fame didn't just come from Pokemon battles. As their newly evolved Kirlias danced across the battlefield, Alex and Nika became a force to be reckoned with in Taekwondo, able to perform in perfect tandem, and and excellent musical combo as well. Curiously, one sister's skills in one subject seemed to bleed into the other sister, making it easier to Alex to be good at Taekwondo and Nika music when they were together.
By the time Alex and Nika were sixteen, they had been told many times of the distant gym leaders, Liz and Tate, that they reminded everyone of. So they sent out a letter, explaining who they were, and waited eagerly for a reply. The reply they got back astonished them- Liz and Tate already knew about them. Would they like to someday come and practice with them? Needless to say, the two and their Kirlias were thrilled, and set off as soon as their parents agreed to it.
When they arrived at Mossdeep City, Alex and Nika were surprised to find that Tate and Liz were only a bit older than them. They'd known that the two were young, but to be so close to them was amazing! At once, Tate and Liz recognized the bond Alex and Nika shared, so similar to their own. It was an added bonus the two had psychic type Pokemon. Though people around the city began talking about Tate and Liz's new visitors, speculating what they were there for, Alex and Nika weren't sure themselves. Tate and Liz were obviously young enough that they wouldn't be retiring for a long time. Either way, both pairs of twins found fighting with each other to be incredible practice- neither set had ever face opponents so well coordinated as each other before. Tate and Liz were bound to bring up memories of one trainer who had worked with his Pokemon almost as in sync, years ago. One day while they were training at the space station Alex picked up a strange rock that Tate and Liz recognized as a dawn stone. So, Nika gave the stone to her Kirlia, and Alex's Kirlia seemed to find it prudent to evolve as well. With this new-found power, Alex and Nika started to give Tate and Liz a run for their money. Eventually, the two decided to explain about the Mark of Leadership, telling Alex and Nika that, though they may not be ready to give up the gym just yet, they wouldn't mind sharing it so they could go explore the world, having become the gym leaders at such a young age. Nika and Alex accepted, of course. And for this grand occasion, Nika decided to start bleaching her hair. She'd been planning on it for a while, and whenever Alex asked she'd respond that she didn't intend to scare off all the guys by being the freaky look-alike twins. Alex had a feeling Nika'd wanted to do it for a while and was just using that as an excuse.
