Damien's spirit reached out to Sadira's and held to her like a life line. He started drifting upwards to where she was, getting a grasp on where he was and what he was doing. His physical body moved to wrap its arms around Sadira. He kissed her cheek and let the tension melt away, let the fear melt away.
I apologize, Sadira. Things seem to overwhelm me when I least expect them to.
Luciana let out a sigh. Damien's eyes weren't empty anymore, which meant he'd been successfully drawn back into the now. Luciana loved the other woman immediately for being able to bring back her cousin.
Do you come from a large family, Sadira?"
Oh Sapir! I think they'll work well. I am so happy for them. Damien has deserved happiness for a long time. She was almost crying, and a tear escaped before she could mask it.

Fauna was surprised with all the ponies showing up. Things were starting to come together. "Well it's a pleasure to meet all of you." She lightly blushed at the compliment given. She hugged Druantia back. "Well rest assured, I'm glad my daughters all married wonderful men."
Before anything could go on any further Flora made contact with Rafe and talked through his mind so Almedha wouldn't hear. Don't worry, I'll deal with her later so it doesn't create any tension amidst this party. I'm sorry she offended you. If it helps, this is the only time you will probably see her since her and her dad go on frequent trips. She then looked over at Almedha uneasy then towards Fauna. While she was looking away she didn't notice that Nicholai had arrived. She turned her head around as soon as she heard his voice. "Oh...no the pleasure is mine." She lightly bowed back. "Truthfully I'm still getting used to this and all so I hope you two don't mind a slowpoke like me."
Marth eventually wandered over to the snack bar. "Oooh! Apple cupcakes! I love these!" He grabbed a couple before wandering back with the adults that were gathering.
Fauna turned her head away for a moment and towards Flora. She could see that Flora was uncomfortable with Almedha and everything that was going on. She then looked back at Marth giving him an evil eye as he stuffed his face with food. Fauna sighed and shook her head. "Pardon me for a moment, but I have one thing to do." She looked back at her mate before heading off over towards Flora. She could tell that Almedha was acting just like her father did when he was young. She was gonna let her have it, but she didn't want to seem like a violent demon in front of Flora's fiance's family. "Almedha, your father wants to speak with you. Mind if you go over?"
Almedha smiled back at her. "Ok." And with that she flew back towards Marth before landing right next to him. "Ok daddy. What did you want?"
Marth was finished stuffing his face before he looked at Almedha who seemed confused. "Hmm? I didn't need anything."
Almedha looked a bit upset. "Well Aunt Fauna said you needed me for something."
Marth looked at Almedha a bit sad then towards the direction of Fauna. "She was probably trying to get you out of that situation in a gentle way. At least you can be grateful she didn't yell, scream, or worse drag you away with her vines."
Almedha looked surprised from what her dad said. "Really? She could do that?"
Marth nodded his head. "Yes, that's what she used to do to me when I would harass her. Although I do admit I deserved it, but I would never admit it to her face to face of course."
Almedha looked back towards where she just was. "Yeah...I guess you're right. Although I didn't realize that being so forward can get you into awkward situations like that. I miss mom sometimes too."
Once all was settled Flora breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks mom. This is Rafe and his dad. Now you can say you've met each of your daughter's mates."
Fauna lightly smiled. "Pleasure to meet you both and a big thank you for being so kind to my daughter." She was going to say something else, but she didn't want to seem like a mother who was overprotective.

Don't apologize. We'll work through together, remember? She smiled and squeezed his arms around her.
"Not an overly large family. Four sisters and a brother. Aissa and I stayed with our mother while our two sisters stayed with our father. I'm not really sure where our brother went."
Sapir still didn't move from his position. He tenderly caressed the back of her hoof. He felt her happiness and smiled. She was happy. That's what mattered to him.

Rhiannon shrugged and looked at Sergio "I wasn't aware of that either, it seems my sister Dru had kids and never bothered to tell me" she frowned, she was certain her and her sisters were close enough to tell each other but it didn't seem that way at all. She lightly bowed "if you excuse me I'm getting some air" she said slowly backing our from the crowd.
Dark Star frowned as Rhia left and glanced at Fauna with concern. He swished his tail to and fro, Rhia was usually one for crowds but this time around, it seemed like something was bothering her. He wasn't sure what to do, was it suppose to go after her or just leave her. He looked to his mate for some clues.

I'm not upset for myself Flora. I don't want you to think that. I'm upset for you. It's you she disrespects, and no one should do that to you. Rafe smiled at his mother-in-law. "I assure you, Ma'am, the pleasure is all mine. Your daughter means more to me than my own life, and she will always be well cared for."
Nicholai laughed heartily, "My new daughter, no one will mind anything that you do. And every Carpathian would love to teach you more about what you are now. It is not a hindrance for us, I assure you."
Druantia beamed proudly, "I do make beautiful babies, iff I do say so myself. And their father was no where near as handsome as Takami." She frowned, "What's wrong with Rhia?"
Luciana nodded, "How wonderful. I bet you all were a handful when you were younger. I know I gave my family a few gray hairs, if we grayed, that is. And I have a few cousins who consider that a challenge."
"Yes, well...we're hoping that you've all out grown that...you ladies were enough to give anyone a fit." Damien looked at Sapir, "Don't ever let her tell you that she was an easy child."
"If you'll excuse me," Sergio went after Rhiannon. "What's wrong, my princess? Have I upset you in some way?"

Flora was still talking through her mind just because she didn't want to tell her mother the full details. I know what you mean. It's a shame about her though so I do feel some sort of pity, but that's another story. Flora liked Rafe's father. He didn't really seem uptight or against any of this. "Thanks. Well it's a pleasure that I got to meet your son then. Most don't have the patience for me."
Fauna lightly bowed her head back towards Rafe. "Indeed and it's good to know she met someone who actually does care for her." She then looked back towards the other group noticing Dark Star's reaction. "I wonder what happened now." She then looked back at Flora and her group a bit sad. She sighed a bit in disappointment. "I hope I wasn't wrong to do this party. I just wanted to see what family and how my daughters were doing. I never considered how uncomfortable it would make everyone else."
Flora shook her head. "I would of done the same thing. Besides, it's nice to see our relatives again. No matter what they do they are family and no matter how hard bonds are broken I still think family comes before everything else."
Fauna nodded her head. "That's what I was thinking too." She looked back towards Dark Star. "Although I guess I better head back over there since it looks like your dad needs something. There's refreshments at the table incase you're hungry." She then walked over towards Dark Star. "Everything ok?"

He grinned at her though, leaning in to whisper, "I hope to help make beautiful babies with you."
Takami followed Rhia with his gaze as she walked out and he shrugged. "She appears to be upset by something." He looked around hi, frowning. This didn't seem to be something to get upset over. She clearly had someone who loved her and was with her.
Sapir chuckled. "I don't think any of us were ever that easy to raise.
Sadira giggled. "I know we all gave our parents a hard time. I think Aissa was worse for my parents." She's the only Earth Bender in our family. Everyone else is fire or water.

Dark Star Shrugged and looked at his mate "I'm not sure,Rhia just walked out" he said "she looked like something was bothering her" he explained. He swished his tail to and fro idly "as for whether or not this wedding party was a good idea..I could not tell you. The girls are finding out stuff about each other they should have shared prior to" he explained.
Rhiannon blinked as Sergio came after her and shook her head "You did nothing wrong, I just thought my sisters and I were close enough to tell each other stuff. I wasn't even aware that I was a aunt to some kids until now" she put in frowning a little.

Rafe smiled and nuzzled Flora. "Family does come before anything else. I'm sure your sister will be fine. I know that in our communities, we don't always get to see each other regularly, so there are some surprises every now and then when we do. Sometimes it's kids and other times it is lifemates, though news of lifemates usually spreads like wild fire."
Nicholai nodded, "Yes, indeed. Everyone wants to share in the joy of another one of us finding their lifemate. I am delighted that your mother decided to throw such a party. Your family and our family have much to celebrate."
Druanita rubbed her tail against Takami's leg and whispered back, "I think I can arrange for that to happen..." She nipped at his neck playfully. "After all, you are an addicting sort of fellow."
"Of course none of us were." Luciana looked pointedly at Damien. " Damien was a handful more so than any other of my aunt's children. Grandfather had to straighten him out into the wonderful young male you have here, Sadira. If it hadn't been for that, I'm sure you wouldn't be able to stand him."
Evidently no one knew how to handle and earth bender? Damien hissed at his cousin playfully, "You don't have to tell everything you know, Luci."
The black female huffed, "You know I hate that nickname! I've done all I can to eradicate it from my life. It's not fair, you know, to go on using it..." She pouted at him, and then smiled. Her voice was sweet and lyrical with what she said next, "I could always make it so you don't remember..."
The notes hung in the air visibly, taking on different colors and then changing to another one. Damien was beginning to be come enthralled and suddenly shook his head, causing the notes to disappear. "Come now, that really wasn't necessary, was it, Luci?"
She smiled playfully, "I can't let you forget that I can be a pain every now and then. It's not good for your ego."
Sergio nodded, "I see. I am sorry that you've been hurt, my princess." He nuzzled her, "How long has it been since you've spoken with your sisters?"

Flora finally stopped talking through her mind to Rafe once her mother had left. "I bet your community is pretty large. My mom and dad's family is small. I don't know what went on with my dad's side, but I know my mom's family died out in the most depressing way." She paused for a moment. "Oh I know this might be off topic, but mom bought some excellent blood for the ones who drink it." She paused for a second not sure what else to say. "I mean if you guys are into that." She paused yet again. "Or you could tell me some interesting stories about your family."
Fauna bit her lip in a bit of confusion and a bit of disappointment. "I see." She looked at the others not sure how to break up the sudden problem. "I was just hoping to see my family all together. I've only been able to be near Flora the past couple of days." She looked at all the others. "I am happy to see though that all of my daughters found someone that cherishes them." Fauna then turned her gaze back towards Dark Star. "Like I cherish you for instance."

Nicholai smiled, "How thoughtful of your mother. I must remember to thank her for thinking of us."
Rafe nodded as well, admitting his embarrassment, "I am ashamed to say that it was a detail that I had not considered. Though I know how good we are at finding our own sustenance, it would have been improper to feed off of one of our new friends or family."

Flora nodded her head. "My mom is really sweet, but yet if she is angry she has one heck of an angry temper. I'm surprised she hasn't lost it with her brother like she normally does." She paused for a second. "Although for some reason she seems to have mellowed out a bit from everything going on." She then turned her head back towards the group then back at Rafe and Nicholai. She made contact with Rafe privately so no one could hear her bold thoughts. Well if that's what you wish, we could do that in private tonight when no one is around.
