Someone once told me that life was too precious to waste. . .

Nemo beamed when she asked if he would make the pie for her. Blushing, he scratched the back of his head while nodding.

"If I ever get to work in a real kitchen again, sure. I just hope I remember how by then," he laughed as he handed her the bottle. He made a mental list that he promised to present the Sea Cats for their next voyage.

A few minutes later, and half a bottle down, Nemo decided that it was time to check the food. It had charred nicely, the spam sizzling and the pineapple dropping juice onto the flames. Carefully, he slid the pieces onto the bagels, handing Fyte one first.

"Careful, its hot," he warned as he lifted his own to his mouth. As if on queue, he took a bite, eyes widened and made a comic show of fanning his mouth and guzzling some of the drink to cool his scalded tongue.

"Guess I shoulda taken my own advise," he said with a laugh. Then he started to feel warm, as if the hot food he'd just swallowed was burning his stomach. A moment later he didn't feel any pain at all. Little did he know, it was not that he was tough and immune to the burn, but merely getting a buzz and simply not noticing.

"Make sure you blow on it." he said gently, leaning into Fyte a little more than usual. Then as if to demonstrate, he blew with his lips and fanned his free hand. However, his breath wasn't strong enough and his hands was moving too slowly to generate any wind. But he thought he was helping.

. . . I wonder if I can return the favor.

Captain Katanna

"Not even if I could," she answered him honestly as they entered the post." I lost you once, I ain't aimin' to let you get away again." And that was as close to an answer as she was able to give at the moment.

"I don't really need anything, the crew take their cut beforehand. This is just the leftovers for trade. So by all means, if you want something, I'll be generous and give ya a discount," she teased as she scanned the shelves and all the kids meandering the wares.

Her crew mates saw them and greeted warmly enough, but she knew that they worried for her nonetheless. She was their captain after all. Without her, the island was without any supply from the outside. Sure they could grow their own food and build their own shelters, but none of them were really wanting to live life like they were in the stone ages. And to that end she wasn't about to fold. Even if on the inside she wanted to go collapse and cry. Seeing Ace die afresh always shook up her nerve. Even if he was able to come back, she didn't think she could ever just brush off the image. Subconsciously, she tightened her grip on his shoulder as they walked to the back storeroom.

"Honestly, I think I need a nap," she said in response to his question about how to proceed. "That took more outta me then I initially thought." Having said so, her body felt weaker, like she'd just finished a marathon, then lost a boxing match, then went on a handful of carnival rides meant to make you hurl.

"Yup, I need to sit." At that moment, she needed to be on something stable, like the floor. In the fetal position. Sucking her thumb and bawling like a babe. Since she was a respectable pirate she did the next best thing.

"Bring me some of the drab!" Taking a seat at a table to the side of the trading booth, she beckoned Ace to join her as a crew mate brought her a bottle. Popping the cap, she took a swig.

"Now that tastes like something my dad liked," she commented with a shiver. "Want some?"

風 Change the tears and pain into the stars, let's ignite a light to light up tomorrow

Taking the bagel carefully from Nemo, she gave it a few blows before taking a small bite. The sweetness of the pineapple and the saltiness of the spam melded in her mouth, reminding her of the sweet and sour dishes from a chinese restaurant. “It’s good!” she exclaimed happily, laughing a bit at Nemo’s display. She didn’t laugh out of spite, but just that it was funny to see him fanning his mouth that way. Picking up the bottle, she took another swig from it. She had just set the bottle back down when suddenly Nemo came closer to her. Closer than he normally was to her anyway.

“N-nemo?” Fyte stuttered, almost dropping her food in surprise. Since when was he so forward? And was it slowly getting warmer? She set down her food and placed her hands to her cheeks. It wasn’t getting warmer, she was! But then why was it so warm? Looking to Nemo, she then cupped his face with her hands. She couldn’t tell for sure if he was as warm as she was. “Are…are you warm too? Or is it just me? It’s like, really waaarm~.” Fyte rambled, running her hands over his cheeks and then her own.

…Let the two of us put our small hands together, and let's search for stardust and a bright shining eternity 風

Forgive me for those words, I know they’re but a cliche to you

"You can't be a couple with someone you've only know for a few days." That had haunted her the past few months. Shaking the thoughts from her head she let him wrap his arm around her. "I guess there isn't much of the Tsukiko you once knew. We've both kinda grown up." They childhood together had been very short lived and soon they had both been forced to grow up. "I've been alone since the kidnapping. I didn't mean to isolate myself, and I don't think anyone else meant to either. I can't get it out of my head, the things they did..." Her voice trailed off as she looked down at the ground. Knowing if she let the darkness affect her she'd soon be back in the cage her father had placed her in.

"I'm not needed because I can barely help myself. Things are so jumbled in my head that everything gets really lost. I don't know where to even begin anymore. I don't even know how to ask for help." A few stray tears welled in her eyes as she stared at the dusty ground.

"Everyone is always leaving me. As soon as we got here Fyte found herself a room and disappeared from me. I never asked her why she no longer wanted to be roommates, I know we hadn't been for very long...still I thought...I guess she wanted to be closer or that there was someone else. I know Nemo and I were never close and he worked so hard to bring Palian back for me, but that isn't what I wanted. I wanted someone, just anyone to tell me it would be okay. That I was finally safe, but no one cared anymore! Everyone expected me to suddenly be over it all! Like I could suddenly forget everything that happened! That the home for most of my life hadn't been perpetrated and I hadn't been kidnapped by my biological father. Like how my mind is a dark and scary place that I can't escape from, no one has seen what I saw Kry. I pray that no one ever has to, but I selfishly wish someone had so that they would understand how hard this all is."

The tears came more easily now. Following down her cheeks as she turned to look at him. "It's like after you left...I was so alone outside of teaching and raising the children. You were right there, but I couldn't reach you anymore. You were the only one that understood back then, but you had your own problems to tend to. Soon you had everyone you ever needed surrounding you. You might say there is a place for me with you side, but I-I- haven't had a place with you in a long time." As the tears flowed the words became harder to speak. He had been her first heartbreak, and while she never admitted it, she had never stopped loving him."

"I know it's stupid for me to still have feelings for you...but I do. I can't side with you, because it hurts to much to see you every day. Why do you think I sent Miya with all those gifts. She wanted so badly to help stop the stupid aggression between everyone. I just wanted to make sure you were alright. I've been checking up on you all this time, because I never wanted you to be alone...but it was me that was alone. I waisted my time wishing you'd take me back and love me or care about me like you use to." Her cheeks were red, and she didn't have the nerve to look him in the eye.

"Now look what I've done. I'm going to end up getting us both killed because I reached out to you. I'm sorry Kry. I'm selfish and stupid." She was a lonely witch, and while witches weren't suppose to be lonely, they were suppose to be alone. She didn't need others to exist, she needed them to make it worth existing. She had loved Kry and when Palian had come along she had found someone to spend her final moments with. She held it all in for so long, but now she was to weak to hold anything back. Every moment was an emotional molotov cocktail ready to be thrown.

But life is tiring, my feet are feeling sore.

If heaven's grief brings hell's rain
Then I'd trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday

"Oh your powers are touch based. I didn't research that far into you. That's my bad." He quickly shrugged off this jacked and swing it around her letting it drape over her shoulders. Pulling the hood up he quickly patted her head. "It's okay, I don't have many secrets to hide anyway. I'm sorry though for making you uncomfortable. That wasn't my intention Laves." His voice softened as he stood a few steps lower so she could be taller. "This should keep you from any accidental skin on skin contact, though if it helps I can always go furry again." He gave her a wide grin, wanting to see her smile.

"Now no mure hurting yourself okay." He grabbed her arms through the fabric and slowly pulled pried herself apart. Pulling out a small crystal vial with a silvery liquid her opened it before taking hold of her now protected arm and pouring it over the wound she had caused. "All better, and no kisses required. Now zip the jacket up, we have work to do Alessa." His voice kept the calm tone as he tended to her. Not making any sudden movements so she could easily pull away.

"If anything though, I thought you'd want to see in my head. That way you could blackmail me into doing whatever you pleased." He teased as he held his hand out to her, seeing that his coat literally swallowed her up. Her arms being completely covered by the thick fabric. He made a mental note to borrow a pair of gloves from Tsukiko before adventuring with her again. Now left in a black tshirt and jeans he doubted it would be /that/ cold in the underground, but he winter definitely wasn't his season.

Oh, I want to teach you a lesson in the worst kind of way
Still I'd trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday

Where it's all a blur, you are the hard line.

Mia watched as Tsukiko didn't reappear on the opposite side of the barrier. She had been there and in a moment gone. No one had had time to react, but now Miya was standing in front of the barrier with a bewildered expression. She sang any incantation she knew, but the wall was ancient magic that was far beyond her knowledge. How had they not known? Had Tsukiko's presence activated the spell? As far as Miya knew Tsukiko was the only one on the island with such an ability. The barrier was cold to her touch, but not icy. She knew this wasn't her adopted sister's infamous wall. "Tsukiko...I hope you are okay..." Singing a small prayer she doubted would reach the silver haired girl.

In the disorder, you are the peace sign.

Someone once told me that life was too precious to waste. . .

Nemo looked at Fyte when she said his name. Normally he would have been equally bashful and hurriedly give her space. However, his senses appeared to be dulled, for instead he smiled and hummed a laugh. He wasn't leaning closer, but when she placed her hands on his cheeks he was surprised and jerked back enough to feel the world start to go off kilter. It felt like his mind was moving faster than his eyes could focus as he watched her panic about their cheeks.

"I'm always warm here," he said, referring to the fact that most places felt hot compared to Alaska. Not that he in any way explained that, but he thought it was clear enough. Taking another swig of the drink that sat nestled in the sand between them, he no longer noticed the distinct fire in his gut. After seeing Fyte cup her flushed face, he reached out to her and did the same.

"You really are warm. Like a muffin fresh from the oven!" Leaning closer, he places a kiss on her nose. Then he smiles, his eyes narrowing. " I could just gobble you up."

. . . I wonder if I can return the favor.

Palian

Only when you walk the line of nothingness...

Seeing Miya go up to the barrier and begin poking at it with her power, Palian wondered if maybe this had not been part of the plan after all. His blue eyes scanned the beach at the rest of the people that had gathered. Many of them were milling about, not particularly worried and at the same time not really eager to force their way inside.

"Such fickle children," he murmured as he circled around Jareth, who seemed to be the most unfazed. The young man was pretty much ignoring everyone, folded up and humming in the sand.

Then he heard an almost inaudible phrase. Bringing himself to stand beside Miya, Palian frowned as he listened to her singing. Maybe his witch wasn't just playing around this time. He looked up at the barrier. It looked solid enough, not that things like that were ever an issue for him.

"You worry for her safety," he stated matter of factly. Placing a hand on the barrier, he reveled in its coolness, its power. He smiled toothily as he looked at the girl who is Tsukiko's sister. "That's good. She needs-" he stopped mid sentence as he heard her words in his head. It wasn't quite telepathy, but by touching the power of the barrier, he was more in tune with the witch's power that he'd taken from Tsukiko. That and thinking about her allowed him to sort of hear her, like they were two paper cups and the magic was the string.

"- people," he finished, his eyes starting to look downwards and his smile wilting. Pulling his hand away, he looked at his tingling fingertips.

... Can you truly understand the difference between life and death.

Jareth

Silently, Jareth gave a meaningful look at his friend before he took the lead of their little party. Since Kry was somewhat distracted by the girl that had so irresponsibly dragged him in here alone, he wasn't about to let them get compromised further. It became all too clear that altering the structure of the cave opening was not the route to tackling the issue, so he agreed it was prudent to venture forth.

However, the Labyrinth was disgruntled that such a scenario had happened in the first place. This was not how it was suppose to go and humoring her was only going to endanger them further. Jareth didn't think this was the time to have a therapy session. However, he kept his lips sealed and spared her no more than a glance. It wasn't in his nature to bait others.

As they entered a larger chamber, Jareth drew his earthen forms sword, which was like a sliver of jagged boulder. In a readied stance, he padded silently into the darkness.

風 Change the tears and pain into the stars, let's ignite a light to light up tomorrow

Fyte giggled as he cupped her face in her hands. While she was usually bashful at such actions, for some reason it didn't bother her so much at the moment. She gently placed her hands on top of his. She only noticed now how her hands seemed small compared to his.

"Hope I'm delicious then~" Fyte laughed, her voice gaining a sing-song lilt to it. She nuzzled his hands with her face, almost like a cat. His hands felt nice and cool, or at least cooler than her face. In a sudden spur of the moment, she leaned forwards and closed the gap between them. She bonked her nose against his, giving him an Eskimo kiss before lightly kissing him on the lips. She sat back then, grinning. "You feel cool to me, Nemo. Are you sure you're warm?"

ֆ I thought that I've been hurt before...

She flinched as she felt something touch her, but soon realized that it was only his jacket. Cautiously, she looked up just in time to see him bring the hood over her head. As he patted her head, Alessa started to calm down. No one had really ever considered what she had wanted, or what would be best for her well-being. It was...touching. Or at least it felt nice to actually be taken care of, even in small ways. She always knew she was petite in stature, but She seemed to be dwarfed by Ryo at the moment. Even his jacket engulfed her, and it hung loosely on her. It was kind of comical and endearing that she had a few inches to spare on the sleeves before her hands reached the end.

She watched as he carefully tended to her self-inflicted wound. The potion stung when it initially made contact, but it soon soothed her skin. Alessa was amazed at the speed it healed her. She had to turn her hand to inspect its work, a look of awe on her face.

"Sorry, no guarantees on that one." She said simply as she zipped up his jacket. It was actually kind of cozy, though she wouldn't admit it. She shook her head in response to his next comment before stepping closer to Ryo and placing her covered hand on his arm.

"I've always hated this power of mine. In the end, it's always this one that pushed people away. The fact that I can't control it makes it worse. Sometimes, I can't help but wonder why I have it. I can't help but wonder what my life would be like without it." Alessa admitted. He was the first person she had admitted this to. It felt nice to get it off her mind, but she still felt edgy knowing that there were people who welcomed her having this power. She was not one to actively go looking for secrets, but secrets always had a way of finding her.

…but no one's ever left me quite this sore ֆ

ஐ If I could begin to be half of what you think of me ஐ

"And there you go! That's the Chopped Tuna!" Mitra made a sweeping motion, gesturing to the ship. They were standing on the deck of it, having just come out of the cargo bay. Moving some of her green bangs out of her face, she pointed towards the trading post, not far from where they moored the ship. "I'll show you our trading post. It's where we barter our loot with the kids here."

The red hair of the captain didn't fail to escape her eye, and Mitra was kind of giddy to see her back so soon from checking in with the President. Theo was nice, but like the rest of the crew, she worried for Kat. It didn't help that the Captain looked worse for wear, and Mitra couldn't help but send a dirty look in Ace's direction. She wasn't blind to how Kat always looked at Ace over the years, and she resented the fact he seemed to always cause pain for her Captain, intended or not.

"Hey Kat!" Mitra called out, walking over to them. She took a quick look around, not seeing anything that caught her interest in the post. She had already taken her share before they had unloaded anyway. "You remember Sam, right?" She gestured to the girl following her.

Samantha Summerfall

۩♖۩♖۩ I wanna live, not just survive . . .

"Wow, it's amazing!" Sam exclaimed in awe as she followed her tour guide. It really was a stroke of luck, to actually find them after all her searching. Not to mention lucky that they weren't real pirates. She felt like her fate would have been more dire indeed had that been the case. With a towel draped over her shoulders, Sam was happy to feel the warm breeze on her wet skin.

"I'm sorry to have caused you guys so much trouble already," she apologizes yet again as they walked onto the beach and towards a crop of trees. When the Sea Cats had happened upon what appeared to be an abandoned yacht, she had tried to stow away. Her failure, however, lay in her attempt to board the ship unnoticed. Barely having grabbed a rope to haul herself up, Sam had slipped on the algae coated side and had fallen into the ocean. They'd saved her of course and after some explanation it seemed as if there was no harm done.

Their captain had given Mitra, the girl in green that was showing her around so enthusiastically, the duty of keeping an eye on Sam until she was settled. It wasn't so much that they didn't trust her, more that the poor girl seemed a little more accident prone than most. She hadn't been hurt as far as they could tell, but there was only so far one could push luck in a given day.

When they reached the post, Mitra immediately took her to the captain. Sam could already tell that the whole crew held a deep respect for her. That spoke volumes about her character, which made her smile just in time to wave a greeting to the captain.

"Oh, hey Mitra," Kat acknowledges as she finishes her drink and slams the empty can onto the table. "Yes, I remember. The drowned rat we found. Haha, I'm kidding, don't make such a face." Kat laughs at them, her cheeks slightly flushed.

Sam blushes at the comment, bowing her head.
"Yea, I suppose that's apt. I never realized that swimming in the ocean could be so different compared to pools."
