--What drives a person to abandon their child? To leave this bundle of cloth laying in the middle of the road. What kind of person looks at this diminishing flame, and continues onwards as if they saw nothing?
-- Question after question poured forth as Raymond neared the wailing newborn. Covered in grime and soot from the day's work, his hands full with bagged goods he had just purchased from the nearby market, the man of seven feet tall loomed over the others and stared down at the fresh life. In a few easy strides he stood in front of the dirty infant and stared for a long, long moment. Putting his goods into one hand, he reached down and with one massive paw, he scooped the girl up and soothed her as he began to carry her home. He never questioned why he chose to take the child. He never regretted it, despite the rage his friends and customers brought when they heard of his most recent adoption. He knew that this child was going to be different. " A fine blade you will be."
Chapter Two Embers Time Frame? Roughly 950 years ago. I know Papa. But I like sleeping by the fire.

-- Groaning, the blacksmith rolled out of bed when the sunlight crested the walls and splashed his face with its bright warmth. Shuffling into the kitchen area, he wasnt suprised to see Tanya curled up by the center fire with her doll close, her blanket half on, and her long hair in every possible direction. Smiling softly, the Smithy started to prepare breakfast. It was simple food, but healthy. Oats with chopped fruits on top, with a piece of yesterdays bread. Softly clinking the pan when he stirred, Tanya woke and made a noise not dissimilar to a yawning dog. Slowly the child rose to her feet and waddled to the kitchen, then struggled to climb up into the chair at the table.
" I bought you a bed for a reason, Tan."
" I know Papa. But I like sleeping by the fire."
" So it seems." Placing a smaller bowl in front of his adopted daughter, Ray sat beside the child and placed down a bowl of his own. The two ate in comfortable silence, and when the meal was over, he took the bowls over to the sink to place them in the sink. Pulling over the stool he made for Tanya, he washed his hands and opened the side door to their house, giving a direct view to the forge. " When you are finished washing the dishes, I want you to dress and come out to the forge."
With a puzzled expression, Tanya nodded and did as she was told. Fetching the water was the easy part, and even though the water was cold she managed to get the bowls and utensils clean and sparkling. Leaving her doll on the kitchen counter, she went to her room and dressed in thick pants, a long sleeve brown shirt, and tied her hair back into a ponytail. She struggled putting on her heavy boots, but within half an hour, the child made it out to the forge. She stood off to the side for a moment, watching her Father feed the fire and bring the glowing hot coals back to the familiar roaring flame. She watched for a while longer, covering her ears when Raymond brought down a heavy hammer onto orange metal, forming it into something new. Eyes wide and curious, she leaned forward some more, but lost her grip and tumbled into the forge, tipping over numerous moulding pans, and soon discovered that one was still rather hot. She heard a sizzle, and after that she heard nothing but her own screams.
Raymond heard the clatter before the scream, and a moment after Tanya opened her mouth Raymond had scooped her into his massive arms and begun carrying her over to the fresh barrel of cooling water. Holding her close and doing his best to sooth the bashee child, he applied a cool cloth to the burn and held her close until her cries turned into a whimper. " Tanya, you know better. " Ray scolded softly. Wiping away the tears, Raymond held out her arm and looked at the sear mark. " When you look at this mark, I want you to remember what can happen when you are clumsy in a forge. This is no play place my daughter. Always do your best to be careful."
Tanya nodded weakly before pulling off an incredibly long sniff. She climbed out of Ray's lap and righted her clothing, pulling down her sleeve so it covered the burn. It still stung, but it helped her clear her mind. For the rest of the day, she followed Ray around the Forge, watching what he did, listening to his instructions, and she even had the chance to lift the hammer and give it a swing herself. Alas, even with two hands, she could not lift the tool. Even when using all her might. Her father laughed and seemingly effortlessly, picked up the hammer and continued his project. Evening came and they had their supper, another simple meal, stew. After dinner Tanya set up her writing table and drew out her letters and numbers in neat rows, ten times each. She also put together simple sentences such as " The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog ". While she did so, her father watched to make sure she was doing as she was told and organized his files for the day.
Day after day passed, and the two lived quite merrily. Raymond made enough to keep the forge going, the hearth warm, and good food in both of their stomachs. And after each week, he saved whatever coin he had left by putting it in a hidden compartment under his bed. Tanya knew about it, but she knew that it was a place meant to be left alone, so she never bothered checking it out.
Years passed, and one day, Tanya's father took her out to the market. He went to the craftmans sector in order to pick up supplies, and gave her money to use for herself. This was the first time Tanya was allowed to go out on her own, let alone have money to spend. She giddily took her coin and spent a few on sweets, and as she was sitting on the side of the street, out of the way and visible to almost anyone, she begun to enjoy her candy. Three larger boys approached her, and she offered them some of her sweets with a large smile. Instead, the boys took her candy and began to hit her and kick her. Crying and calling for help, she suffered hit after hit from the bullies. She felt something crack in her arm, and what seemed like an eternity, a shadow loomed over the four children. Both hands filled with materials, Raymond towered over the children. Dropping his bags, he leaned forth and let out a mighty roar that made the dirty boys turn white, urinate themselves, and climb over each other in order to escape. Goods in one hand, a weeping Tanya carried by his free arm, the duo returned home.
Bandaging her arm, Raymond even made a cast of sorts in order to keep her broken arm in place. Tanya's eyes were hard, and her expression empty. Lips pressed in a hard line, Raymond sat in front of his little girl with an ashen face and tired eyes. " Starting tomorrow, I will teach you how to fight. "

-- Sitting in the corner of the local hideout, Tanya had her blade resting against her shoulder as the life of the 'bar' continued before her. These dirty, smelly so called men roared at each other merrily just as often as they did aggressively, and when they weren't pissing themselves in their drunken stupor they would dare each other to try and make a pass at the woman in the corner. Most returned to their friends unharmed, others had lost hands, arms, and some, their lives. You laugh and think that this woman thinks too highly of herself, and the majority of the kills she made are fake, but I assure you dear reader, they are not.

Holding her books with two fingers each, Tanya groaned and grumbled as she attempted to complete her studies. None of the things her father gave her interested her. Art, sewing, gardening, cooking, writing. Well, she enjoyed writing a little, but Raymond always scolded her because her stories were so violent. Tanya longed to be out with the other boys, beating each other up, play fighting. She thought her father was going to disown her when she admitted to wanting to be a butcher. She still spent three hours every day in the forge, four hours every day studying, and two hours of intense physical training, just to satisfy her Dad, but lately with his failing health, and his blindness creeping up on him, Tanya used it to her advantage to cut her studies short and spend more time either in the forge, or exercising.
When she met to the equivalent to twenty years in Soul Society, her father had almost lost all of his sight, and could hardly travel outside the house, even with Tanya at his side. The day was hot. Hot enough that most people stayed at home in the shade and fanned each other in attempts to keep cool. Raymond was napping, and Tanya was in the forge. She knew that rumors had gone out around the sector about Raymond hiding large amounts of money, and that he kept precious jems for very special orders, and she knew that some men were greedy enough to try and find out for themselves. She had already dealt with two robbers within the month. Hammering away at her latest order, Tanya took a rest and wiped her sweaty brow with the back of her glove, leaving a wet stain in its leather. About to start hammering again, she heard a clash within the house, and the pained surprised cry of her father. White hot metal in one hand, and the mallet she was once too small to lift in the other, she barged into the house to see her father with his fingers around a piece of rope, and in her stunned silence, her father had his last breaths, and did his final struggle. Blinded by fury Tanya launched herself at the attackers. The skirmish was short. One attacker badly wounded and burned, the other with a broken arm. Both men managed to escape, but the damage was already done. Dropping both her weapons, Tanya knelt by her Father, silent sobs caught in her chest, she could only bow her head and remain kneeling by the body. No tears fell. No wet nose. No sounds of anguish. Silent kneeling.

Zanpakutō Activation Statement | Take a breath and convert it to death, Zanpakutō Blade Changes | [ X ] No longer a Katana, but something that resembles the blade Tanya had only dreamed of forging, this two handed beast was made for heavy swings, hard blocks, and not so much for speed.
Shikai Abilities Ability One Tanya can manipulate energy to some extent. She can change it from electricity, to fire, to simply energy (or reatsu). Think of a Getsuga Tenshō, or a Wind Scar. However she can only use three different types.
- Reatsu [Kinda, but not really, like a cero attack] Can use it once before having to wait two posts for the attack to recharge. Radius of five feet, strong enough to blast a hole through a nice, thick, two thousand year old tree, leaving behind steamy marks similar to burning.
Ability Two -Fire. Can use it once before having to wait one posts for the attack to recharge. Attack radius of ten feet from the users core, not the hilt of the blade. This fire burns hot enough to heat metal to a glowing state after a few short minuets, and has a hunger like no flame before it. Tanya uses the flame attack sparingly for how quickly it spreads, and takes physical strain when controlling what direction it goes, and if she chooses to put out the flames she created, she goes under incredible physical stress. Nosebleeds are common, partnered with extreme fatigue. Can control flames five feet around her. Being touched by this flame would, indeed, leave quite the scabbing mark, but I'm sure in time the mark would go away. Almost positive. Squad four has ways to deal with burns don't they?
Ability Three -Electricity. Can be used once before a two post cool down. Attack radius of thirty feet. Generally used as a 'multiple hit' attack. One bolt of zappy zappy, basically lightning at this point, shoots upwards from the ground ( if in the air, from two feet below where Tanya stands), and each bolt is five feet away from each other in any direction. Powerful enough to snap trees, usually used as a stun against her foes, aiming for numbness of a limb for two posts, to complete paralysis (depending on what the other RP partner decides to do with it) for two posts (one for saying "hey I'm paralyzed", one for replying to my post while paralyzed).

Going through a crash course through all the basics that she needed to know, Kageryuu went home and decided that Kido was something that she would hardly use. Ever. Spell Name: Hainawa (這縄, Crawling Rope) Number: 04 Incantation: Unknown Description: Binds enemies with a Reishi rope to stop their movement. The practitioner generates a crackling yellow energy rope within his/her hand(s) and throws it toward the opponent. The energy entangles itself around the opponent's arms and body, immobilizing them.

Description: The practitioner, drawing the symbols of the spell in the air, causes his/her entire body to permeate a red energy. Description: The practitioner, using the index and middle fingers, generates an orange hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns which, ensnaring the opponent as the tendril wraps around their body, immobilizes them. The end of it remains in the hands of the user, allowing them to control the path of the tendril before and after capture. The Kidō can connect with another one of itself, if both have captured a target, and bind them together.

The practitioner, extending their hand, appears as though they are gripping thin air before stripping away the technique which is currently in effect. Spell Name: Shitotsu Sansen (嘴突三閃, Beak-Piercing Triple Beam) Number: 30 Incantation: Unknown Description: Crackling yellow energy gathers in the user's hand, who draws in triangle mid-air. The symbol creates solidified energy on the shape of smaller triangles from its three points and fires them at the intended target, pinning them to a nearby surface, slamming into his/her body in three places in the shape of a perfect triangle and immobilizing them.
Spell Name: Tsuriboshi (吊星, Suspending Star) Number: 37 Incantation: Unknown Description: Tsuriboshi is primarily used to catch. The spell creates a ball of blue energy that fires out six "ropes" from its center. The "ropes" attach themselves to any sturdy nearby object and the energy in the center solidifies into a flat elastic-like cushion. The spell can stop falling objects similar to a safety net.
Spell Name: Enkōsen (円閘扇, Round Lock Fan) Number: 39 Incantation: Unknown Description: Enkōsen is primarily used for defense. The practitioner can use either both hands or his/her Zanpakutō in a blocking motion. The spell generates a dull yellow energy, which takes the form of a large spinning disk of condensed reiatsu, in front of the practitioner, blocking an opponent's attack.
Spell Name: Hakufuku (白伏, White Crawl) Number: 44 Incantation: Unknown Description: The target sees the illusion of purple cherry blossoms falling around them. As their vision begins to blur and become unfocused, their consciousness becomes muddled, disoriented, and confused. Shortly thereafter, the target blacks out altogether, losing consciousness, only to awaken with an unclear memory of what occurred.
Spell Name: Tōyochi (凍輿地, Frozen World) Number: 52 Incantation: "Tundra and glacier spread forth into the air, in the realm of white night!" Description: This Kidō causes all moisture near the earth's surface to instantly freeze, causing jagged pillars of ice to jut up from the ground. The slightest touch by any spike or even the ground itself will result in the target being frozen to it, binding them to the ice until they can tear themselves free.
Spell Name: Kakushitsuijaku (摑趾追雀, Summoning of the Tracking Sparrows) Number: 58 Incantation: "Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain." Description: Kakushitsuijaku heightens the user's senses and awareness to seize a target. The practitioner draws a circle, with the appropriate symbols set apart in four quadrants upon the ground, using a black powder. When they place their hands palms down just under the circle to activate the spell, the circle glows with a blue light as the symbols within the circle are animated, causing various numbers to appear within until the specific set is found. The number set seems to be a variation on longitude and latitude.

Spell Name: Byakurai (白雷, Pale Lightning) Number: 04 Incantation: Unknown Description: The practitioner gathers high-density spiritual energy, which they discharge from both hands.Alternatively, the practitioner, pointing at the intended target with their index finger, can generate a concentrated bolt of lighting to use against the target.
Spell Name: Tsuzuri Raiden (綴雷電, Bound Lightning) Number: 11 Incantation: Unknown Description: The practitioner generates an electric current through any object they touch, which damages anything or anyone which is in contact with the object the current runs through.
Spell Name: Fushibi (伏火, Ambush Flare) Number: 12 Incantation: Unknown Description: The practitioner channels volatile reiryoku through an object that they touch, causing to to ignite along its surface and create a large explosion just after.
Spell Name: Gō Ken (鋼拳, Hard Fist) Number: 15 Incantation: Unknown Description: A relatively simple Hadō that covers the caster's fist in Reiryoku, allowing for added force behind a punch. Relatively speaking, it can allow a Shinigami with human-level strength to dent iron and makes their fist feel like an iron mass. Like other Hadō, it does not last long, only hardening the fist to give enough time to punch.
Spell Name: Gurenbachi (紅蓮蜂, Crimson Bees) Number: 23 Incantation: "Gather, spirits of flame. Ride the westward wind, show them your fury." Description: The user flings their hand, summoning forth a surge of fire that splits into a dozen wasp-like projectiles that detonate, causing explosions large enough to engulf a person.
Spell Name: Shakkahō (赤火砲, Red Fire Cannon) Number: 31 Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!" Description: The user, generating high-temperature flames, discharges it from both hands or the finger, in the form of an orb (small, medium, or large depending on the power used. The destructive power released by the blast can vary between a simple explosion to a pillar of energy. In both instances, the spell causes concussive as well as burn damage.
Spell Name: Ōkasen (黄火閃, Yellow Fire Flash) Number: 32 Incantation: Unknown Description: The practitioner, raising their Zanpakutō horizontally in front of them, generates a yellow orb which widens itself along the length of their sword. Once it is fully charged, it fires outward as a horizontal blast, in a wide arc of yellow energy, at the target. This technique can be launched from the hand instead of a Zanpakutō, albeit producing a shorter arc.
Spell Name: Sōkatsui (蒼火墜, Blue Fire, Crash Down) Number: 33 Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws." Description: The practitioner, aiming the palm of their hand at the target, generates a torrent of blue spiritual energy and fires it at their target. The energy moves like a direct blast or a large wave of energy, depending on the amount of power placed into it.

Spell Name: Haien (廃炎, Abolishing Flames) Number: 54 Incantation: Unknown Description: A flame attack which eradicates the very existence of its target. The practitioner fires an oblong blast of purple spiritual energy from their hand that incinerates a target completely when it makes contact.
Spell Name: Tenran (闐嵐, Orchid Sky) Number: 58 Incantation: Unknown Description: The practitioner, levitating their Zanpakutō, lightly hits one end, causing it to spin like a fan. The practitioner, stopping it, creates a widening tornado-like blast, which is fired forward toward the target. A hand is usable as a catalyst of the spell if the Zanpakutō is not available.

Zanjutsu | Tanya is a skilled swordswoman despite the fact she would rather hit her foe with her own hands, and prefers using daggers when using blades at all. Developing her own fighting style while romping about in the Rukongai, the best way to describe it would be " Slash and Bash ".
Hakuda | Her preferred way to fight, especially when she can cheat by using daggers. Tanya took no particular lessons in just how to fight, and can be classified under the general term, " Brawler ".
Hohō l Through the years, Tanya discovered that speed was a heavy factor when it came to the fights she was in. Her fighting style is based around coming in quick, hitting, and then getting out of the way before her opponent(s) could counter-attack.
Durability | Tanya actually enjoys the pain of fighting. So much, that she eventually looses herself into the battle and becomes incredibly reckless for the sake of new wounds. She will continue to battle until she either (a) has lost all lifeblood, or (b), has major tendons and/or muscles responsible for movement disabled. A warrior with a short temper and a thirst for battle, is a blind warrior.
Reiryoku | Kageryuu usually has a tight grip on her pressure, but when she becomes frustrated or incredibly emotional, she lets control slip. She is in need of more self control practice in many areas, Spirit Control being just one of them. Even though she has an abundance of pressure, she tires easily if she exerts herself too much.

SHIKAI
Ability One: I'm fine you having three types of attacks with this one, where you listed four. Because you have a multitude of attacks in one Ability, I will have to ask that each individual attack has a cool-down of two posts, having a maximum of two attacks per sub-ability. Also, I need you to explain whichever three you choose in depth: range, strength, radius of effect, etc. Ability Two: What do you mean by "Think of this release as a self release. When lifted, Tanya has more energy of her own to use."? Also, please explain how long this ability lasts, and please add a small cool-down. What do you mean by waves? And I'm fine with this ability, as long as it only effects the products of your zanpakuto (i.e. can't bend enemy flame attack out of the way). Also, please put a range of effectiveness, along with what degree of control you have.
I've modified my Shikai entirely. Instead of having ability one as three different things, I've placed ability one, two, and three as Energy, Fire, and Electricity as you can see above. With this modification, I've made a couple tweaks to the three different forms of attack, and I'm unsure on if I can still class it as an 'Energy Manipulation' zan. because I think it's nearing the multi-element Zan.
