As Julia stood up she heard a quiet voice in amongst all the blather of the excited crowd. Stopping she turned to look back in the direction of the girl, her face was drawn in harsh lines that were not meant for the redhead. As she listened to the offer her face went blank and she just stared at the sundae for a moment. Her eyes went from confused and vacant to hungry and she chewed her bottom lip a little. They then moved to meet the brilliant green orbs of the redhead and remain there a second. Julia didn't like to be pitied, she liked to think of herself as strong and independent but the tantalizing ice cream loomed before her. Opening her mouth she was about to force out a polite no when her stomach gave a rumble, reminding her that she was pretty hungry and this girl was giving her free food. Allowing her tummy to act as her conscience she changed her mind. "Ah,... Um, thanks that's really nice of you" she said as she slowly sat back down and pulled her chair a little closer. "I would have bought my own..." she paused glancing out the window, "I can't afford one right now," she said laughing a little awkwardly.

Looking back at the two strangers she decided to introduce herself, it was the least she could do for the girl's kindness, "I'm Julia by the way." She was about to say more but the TV announcement all but silenced the little shop. On the television was the familiar news anchor Emily Cheryl and news reporter Flo. Watching the little report and hearing the reminder about today's speech made her angry. She absolutely hated SHA, and anyone who supported it too, so almost everyone. Fire flashed in her eyes but nothing more, she knew better than to show her true feelings about the stupid law and it's ridiculous ideals. Once the station was done its little update her attention moved back to the two she was sitting with. To her surprise the redhead looked a little upset about something, for an instant Julia wondered if the girl didn't like SHA either, but quickly discarded that notion; chances were her melancholy look was due to something else. Finally the brown haired boy spoke up, she looked at the boy and nodded before turning her attention back to the girl, "yeah it's not like it's going to be any different from all the rest of the speeches right?" she said trying to reassure her a little and back the boys comment
without making herself out to be a sketch.
