Belenus pawed at the earth under his feet as he though, pale, impercievable eyes almost invisible beneath their mask. He sought the...company of others to fill the void he felt being away from his herd but that had turned out to be fairly...fruitful. More so than he had expected. The star had been unaware that males could beget a new generation together and beget he certainly had. Now he had two foals to keep alive with only the vaguest idea of what that meant. He felt a warmth toward them - they were himself, after all, but he had no real means of understanding them. After all, Blod had not exactly been mare of the year and though she taught him many valuable things, he did not necessarily want to be like she had...The two winged beasts frolicked in front of him and it almost made him smile. Almost. Instead he snorted, thankful for Helias being the older of the two. With his strong wings, he had already managed to glide a bit and it was clear he would be a strong flier. He would be able to teach Melitta. Belenus certainly had no idea what it was like to be high up in the air but having both a solara and an arion could most definitely prove useful...Muscle and finesse...
If he had a herd to run.

Melitta dropped to the ground and began to happily munch on a daisy, only vaguely aware of her father looming ahead of her. He was a quiet sort. He didn't talk much but she loved to talk. She learned more and more every day and every day Helias showed her new words! Words were wonderful things. So much meaning produced so...eff...effor...effortl...easily.Easily would work. Easy was good.
As she slurped in the stem, she glanced up at Helias. He was quiet like daddy too but not as grumpy. He seemed to think a lot and she found herself wondering what was going on in there.
Oh! Another daisy!

The hot pink solara boy watched his little sister dutifully. He was a little older than her and though they had different second dads, he felt like it was his job to protect her. He had seen dad get defensive of them before when strange stars got too close...and he had come back painted red before. It made him smell strange and Helias didn't like it. He'd asked his dad to wash it off but it only made him angrier and he yelled.
Daddy was strange.
Helias found himself wondering about his other father. His body had to have taken after him more than Belenus. Was he as angry as he was? Was he as quiet? When it got cold, would he had allowed him to lay down with him? What had happened to his sister?
A slurping noise brought him from his thoughts and he glanced down at Melitta munching on some flowers. He leaned down and nibbled on one before looking at her wings. Dad was distant but perhaps he and Mel could be close.
"Say, Melitta...Have you ever tried to fly?"
