I am considering two tribe ideas, and I want to know if they're acceptable.

One is a modification tribe. I know Modifoxes is about modifying, but tattoos and jewelry hasn't been done in so, so, so long. And, the foxes seem to not revolve around it anymore, despite the shop title. I was thinking of having a tribe where they worshipped modifying the body, and see is as "stories". Foxes in the tribe must acquire additions to their body at some point, or skilled in applying additions. It'd be fleshed out, but is this an okay idea?

Another idea is one based around the "unusual", whether it be in looks or personality. Anyone would be accepted, especially those with darker personalities, BUT, they won't really "worship" anything. They'd have set rules. Set traditions, and perhaps a Deity, but they'd never outwardly worship a religion. Most tribes worship something, but they wouldn't. Is that acceptable?

Yushika

modification tribe:
the idea is neat, but i'm not sure if a tribe concentrated on just modification would... actually be able to work, since all tribes require their members to obtain tattoos/jewelry/items/etc before joining. i think the part about the tribe seeing modifications as "stories" could be used as a minor part of a tribe concept though! i'm assuming they'd get meaningful modifications for specific events that happen in their lives, like "X happened, so i got Y as a result"? that sounds like it could be interesting, if you pair it up with some additional beliefs, a backstory, traditions, all that jazz. o:

"unusual" tribe:
someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure every tribe is required to have at least one modeity, one that all of the members need to worship in some manner. the tribe's patron modeity (or modeities, if your tribe chooses to worship more than one) is the one who decides to turn a fox into an elder, after judging that fox and going "oh hey, they have leadership qualities and a strong enough cause for this tribe of theirs, let's make them an elder and see how things work out".

i'm not the one in charge of tribe stuff tho, so i'm gonna toss this at eva and the other staffers! o Ao <3

What if it wasn't a modification 'Deity but a metal/metalwork 'Deity?

Eva's the tribe mod, so final say will be up to her.

However, if you're interested in my two cents, here they are~

Modification tribe: just a modification tribe on its own probably wouldn't work, since some foxes get mods just to look cool, others get them for a symbolic reason, and, like Spazzy mentioned, all foxes in tribes have to get the tribe mod. Focusing on the story-telling/symbolic aspect miiiiiiiiight work.

You could have foxes that tell their personal history through their mods, like Spazzy mentioned (the whole "X happened, so I got mod Y" thing). Or--and I'm imagining a bit of overlap with the Gypsy Entertainers here, although that overlap in and of itself might not be enough for your idea to be denied--foxes that tell fictional stories through their mods. These foxes telling fictional stories might mod themselves to look like a character or multiple characters (the ruby necklace of Sharai The Daring, the gauntlets of Hoshan The Brave, whatever), with the caveat that these would have to be original stories/characters, not cosplay. Or the fictional-story foxes might have their mods all tell one single story, with the beginning at their head, and the end at their tail, sort of like a living book.

Again, while I think it could work if you did it that way, I'm not sure if you want to do it that way, since you seem more focused on the mod part, and that way would be more focused on the story telling part. And also again, I cannot guarantee that idea would be approved, so take it with a grain of salt :3

For the unusual foxes: they would have to have set beliefs, values, and possibly preferred personality types. (A fox who is a preppy airhead is "unusual" in that you don't see a lot of foxes like that: would they be welcomed as well?) "Beliefs" and "religion" do not have to be synonymous, however. Seeing unusual as good is a belief, yet it does not have a religious basis. But so far, that seems to be the only belief or value you had mentioned for this tribe. Once again, while I'm not Eva, I can still almost guarantee that you would have to flesh out the values/beliefs more before it would be accepted.

As for not worshiping a 'deity: that's a little tricky. The Elder would have to be raised to Elder status by some 'deity. But due to some things up in the air right now behind the scenes, I'm not sure if the 'deity doing this raising would necessarily have to be the tribe's patron 'deity or not.

So to be on the safe side, I recommend you try to think up a patron 'deity, and in the meantime, staff will try to come to a conclusion on the behind-the-scenes issue :3

SO, UH, ENJOY THAT TEXTWALL FOR YOU~

Awh snap. Thank you for the good information guysss! I think I have an entirely new idea for a tribe, and thank god. Looking back at what I had typed months ago it wasn't very thought out, and I totally see why some of it wouldn't work based on your inputs. Thank you so much for answering <3
