"Hopefully the rest of the cup is as good as the first sip," Alison grinned. She had not thought about the fact of it being that hot. Normally she had a cup with no lid and it had ended up sitting for a good while before she got around to it. She did know a quick fix though. She went to the counter and asked for a cup of ice and returned to the table. "Here. Open the lid slowly. You don't want to spill and burn yourself. Just a couple of pieces or else you'll water it down."

"It's not that big but big enough. I have two sisters and a brother. What makes it big is all the aunt and uncles and grandmas and grandpas. So on and so forth."

"Life is colorful." Alison giggled. "There is hardly a dull moment. But that also happens when no one in your family is human. We are all different."

Alison's smile brightened. She was very happy to hear that her friend was enjoying her cup of coffee. "You know we could start making it a weekly thing. Meeting at this coffee shop. We could hang out and then if we wanted go and do other things." She would rather come here and meet with a friend to buy books than go to a library and borrow and be alone.

Alison picked at her muffin. She wasn't big on sweets so there was not anything really special about it. "I suppose it is fun," she grinned.

"If you don't mind me asking. I thought I saw you holding an apple earlier. Do you like apples?"

"I love apples. Mom keeps a bowl of fresh fruits on the counter at home. We snack on that rather than junk food unless of course you're my sister Alex." Alison grinned. "You should try an apple sometime. But not that one." She glanced down at the apple. She wondered what powers an apple could give. "And, apple blossoms for a room sounds interesting."

"On the counter we have oranges, bananas, apples, pears, and plumps. In the fridge we have a bowl of grapes. There are a few other exotic fruits also. Like kiwi. But it isn't one of those quick eat types. You have to prep it."

"My room is most all blue. Light blue. I have a beautiful canopy bed and lots of dresser space. I have stacks of books. Lots of books." Alison grinned. "The windows that my room have are amazing. They have these little nooks. I think mom said they were bay windows or something like that."

"How about we meet up Wednesdays at 2pm." Alison smiled. That would give both of them time to have had lunch and be ready for a midday snack with their coffee. "After we have coffee we can go over to my place," she paused, "that is if you want to."

"They won't mind at all. With the exception of study time Everyone kind of does there own thing."

Alison grabbed her empty coffee mug and plate as she stood up. "I'm really looking forward to next week." She looked around until she found a place to put her trash.
