Well I'm going to be frank about this; Vocaloids are used as synthesized voices from real people, usually Japanese,Chinese, Korean, Spanish; sometimes English. Human singers, like Justin Bieber use auto-tune. The difference between these two, is that Vocaloids are pretty much used for most Japanese entertainments. Justin Bieber, on the other hand, is well-known world-wide; and he doesn't have a synthesized voice.
You shouldn't really compare Gakupo to Justin Bieber..

I would not compare them so easily. There are way to many differences between the two. Justin beiber sings for money, while gakupo sings for the common person. The biggest difference is the variety of different songs. Justin beiber as of recently has recently been focusing on sex related songs....

Justin Beiber is horrible. He successfully made a song that has only one word: "Baby". And apparently, that makes him amazing, along with the fact that he is basically a 12 year old girl.
