"I dunno who Brenny is, but if Brenny sounds like me, then I think I love him already!" He worked about the kitchen, grabbing everything he would need for the poffins. They were going to be delicious! The most delicious ever, because they were made with friends!
As he set all of his items down, he turned to Jacen, watching him continue to speak, starting to feel some of his sadness inside of him.
"But I want you. Why do I not count? Why do I got to be a grown up to make you wanna stay with me?"

"I think you would," Jacen assured him with a smile. "He really is a lot like you. He adopts people too. He adopted his sister, his brother and his Daddy. But they don't have any extra room for me." He had thought about it. Connie, Brenny's father, lived in a small two room apartment. There wasn't room for another child, when the man had three already.
He hesitated. "Well. Because I don't want just a sibling, you know. I want a Daddy. My Daddy. Maybe he'll come back and say 'Jacen I'm so sorry I left you, I love you!' And I'll say 'I knew you wanted me, Daddy!' And I'll be so happy to have my Daddy again!"

"I'm sorry I can't be what you want." Petaya seemed offended and upset at Jacen saying that he wasn't good enough for him. Certainly, his little mind couldn't wrap around exactly what Jacen wanted, but it still hurt to know that he couldn't take all of the hurt away.
Ah well.. For now, the little Joltik worked in silence as he prepared the poffins. Jacen would be staying the night atleast, right?

Jacen noted Petaya's offense with wide blue eyes. "I didn't mean--hey! Just because you're not my Daddy, doesn't mean we can't be friends!" He tried to reassure his new friend.Petaya was his age, after all. He was a friend: didn't the joltik gave parents he couldn't replace? "How are the poffins coming?" He asked, trying to change the subject. Maybe that would cheer Petaya up.
"Do you want to tell stories later? I bet yo know a lot of them!"

Petaya couldn't help but still pout when Jacen tried to apologize. Sure, the other could be sorry, but he still wasn't happy with him. It was rather cute though.
"They are baking. I know some stories, but not alot."

"How long will they take?" Jacen wondered aloud. "I'll tell you a story first, okay? I'll tell you my story. How I saved Molly from bullies! I did, before she caught me. I didn't know why they were making her sad, but I wanted to make them stop. So I did! They kept calling her names like freak, and I didn't know why. I didn't like it. She caught me after, and I found out she's blind! That eans she can't see. She tried to name me Sweetie, because she thought I was a girl. Then she named me Frost."
The vanilite boy paused. He missed his Molly. It was hard to talk about her, after what had happened.

Petaya listened quietly to the story, sitting down at his play table so that he could keep an eye on the poffins, as well as on Jacen. This story was too sad, in his opinion.. Why did people always have sad stories?
"Why is your name Jacen then? And where is Molly now?"
