These are the zodiac(s) I know of: Monthly Astrology Zodiac: Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Capricorn (Ophiuchus) Yearly Chinese Zodiac: Pig, Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, and Dog (Cat)
Now I'm not sure which one we will chosen so I suppose this is one of the reasons I made this thread. Also I added the ones that could or could not be considered to be included the zodiac themes. Another reason I decided to make this topic was so I could figure out what avatar to make for the 2014 ball. So any or all information could help me and the guildies as well.

When I initially saw Zodiac I automatically though Zodiac Killer? But yea magical is more popular and if you want a magical theme you can suggest a plot idea or suggestions for the ball? I know I'm not that creative in thinking up imaginary stories

Someone with some imagination better think of something or else heads will roll, but since there are 12 then there would be 12 individual crew members and 12 unique stories for all of them? Oh geez that's a lot to process even for me. I wonder how they will be managing the rooms and stories. A little to overwhelming for me to be honest.

It would be similar to the 8th and 9th annual balls most likely where the two opposites were paired together. Zodiacs is already magic within itself for the most part.

Also found out there are the Egiptian, Greek mytho, Kemetic, Celtic, Biblical, and even a native american zodiacs. From these, the oldest are the Kemetic and the traditionalk egiptian.

Personally, I think it'd be a fun idea to be unique and make our own Zodiac rather than use any other zodiac out there. I think we could make it unique enough and just say that this is Gaia's Zodiac, so its separate from Western, Eastern, Gypsy, or any other.
I'm more than certain we have talented artists who could create our unique constellations(if that's the route we go) and help us use them as the theme for the ball.
Here are some suggestions of possible Zodiac symbols we could use: The Dragon (used I know, but always a good one) The Griffin (the Griffin is just badass) The Pirate (homage to our Pirate theme suggestion) The Traveler (homage to our Time Travel theme suggestion) The Wizard (tribute to Magical School theme suggestion) The Siren (Mermaid) The Triplets (Instead of Gemini, how about 3?) The Lantern (An object to sort of compare to Libra) The Bat The Wolf (Lupos Major) The Jester The Spider aka Arachnae
Furthermore, since vampires and werewolves and other such creatures are all popular on Gaia, what if the storyline involves how vampires tend to sort of worship one constellation, werewolves another. Gaia has also had Orcs, and Elves, and others so maybe they can be matched up with a constellation as well. Vampires would obviously revere the Bat, Werewolves, the Wolf. Elves maybe unique in that they revere the Lantern, or maybe the Triplets. They can say that the Triplets represent maybe 3 elven races or something. Dark Elves, High Elves, and whatever other elf we can come up with. Maybe an extinct race of elves or something.
I dunno, I'm just throwing out ideas though.

They also each have a general set of attributes that supposedly define those born under the sign. Most Zodiac have 13 "members" within their cycles as well. the 13 members relating to the original 13 lunar months that were the way of time keeping before the 12 month was even though of.
We could possibly set up the whole ball as a dropping of the veil/wall between the zodiac's realm and gaia realm. The ball is something they do every year to pass on the "light of the world" to the next being in the cycle. Say this year the veil drops during the feast the night before and portions of gaia have been sucked through the door/whole in the veil/wall.
I love "The Triplets" instead of twins/gemeni. As Libra is supposed to be a balance of opposing forces I would suggest something more like a Joker (as in the cards) or just Duality, or perhaps even "The Veil" as in the thing that separates the two (or more) worlds from clashing. I love that both Pirate and Wizard made it onto your list of suggestions as they have come up year after year in some way shape or form and have never really lacked people of interest.

In a way they could be seen as a wiccan or shamanistic zodiac... but they are not based around the cycles of the moon and sun like most zodiacs that I know of. I am Wiccan, I've been practicing for 8 years now. Was introduced to Shamanism and the animal totem/oracle 6 years ago, even went on a spirit guide quest to find my spirit animal.
