It's a poll thread with no poll! Why is this?!
Cease your panicking. Before we can have a true poll, we need poll options. We're looking at having a new name for the guild, to match our step forward, but we need suggestions from everyone.
What we're looking for, is a name that matches the guild. We're a small band of shinobi starting a village. The first shinobi village to be exact. Our name should reflect that, or the state of the world around us, a feudal state where ninja war against ninja and daimyo against daimyo. Everyone is fighting over territory, beliefs, resources, women, what have you.
The only rule I'd like to impose, is that we not have crude or insulting names or acronyms. We're a mature group of mature people, we don't need an immature name.
That said, silly or awesome acronyms are welcomed.
And in turn that said, as a side effort, everyone try to throw out some Guild/Village/Organization names with the acronym FISH. Said names should of course, be relevant.
Once we either have a lot of suggestions, or we're ready to finalize the reboot, I'll update this thread with a poll including all the name suggestions, and we'll vote on what the final name shall be.

My own suggestions:
I feel for the guild name we should use an episodic format, retaining the prefix PotS. This will allow us to update the name as we advance in our storyline to reflect major current events. To that end, my suggestion is still...
PotS: Birth of a Village
I recommend against using the "Naruto:" prefix, as the more we advance, the more we seem to be pulling away from the Naruto basis and creating our own. That is an effort I'd like to applaud and keep in mind with our name.
FISH
First Institutionalized Shinobi Haven
I had one for an organization the other day, but it seems to have slipped my mind...

I vote Naruto Naruto: Naruto naruto naruto of the naruto naruto.
That's a valid opinion right?
PotS: Formation of a Collective, Genesis of a Village, Exodus to[or begat] Genesis [Because all our characters have left to create the village]
Those are some that I just thought up. I'm actually leaning toward genesis of a village, though I can see the obvious implications if the meaning is misconstrued.

lol, Genesis of a village, taken literally, means everyone is leaving the village. Not a good note to start on. [Edit: What am I talking about? That was stupid.]
I think you're working off a misconception though. Nobody has to "Leave" anything to join the village. The starting group is most likely just a ninja organization that's been around for awhile deciding to settle down in one place.

I figured that everyone started somewhere else, maybe not yours specifically, but your family left another group to join this one, so that's why I'm using Exodus as a possibility. That and it just sounds kinda enigmatic.
Enigmatic Genesis could be one. That actually sounds like a decent jutsu name, no clue what it's supposed to do, maybe generate a random jutsu or something, but it sounds cool.

Still thiink a similar but not identical name wwould be better. Just enough so people recognize the connection without us having to slap them in the face with it. I thk the oTS part would be most recognizable.Not to mention, a long name is not likely to draw in new members.
First of the Shinobi is still my favorite.
Others:
Origins of the Shinobi
Birth of the Shinobi (not literally)
Alliance of the Shinobi (Since they are allying to form a village)
However these wouldnt be so bad.

POTS: First Generation
or
POTS 2- except completely different
Or we could go with
The Fairy and Unicorn RP Guild

You guys are seriously considering using FISH? it was absolutely a joke, if we are going with an acronym we should use PANDA, and only for the organization, not the village. Ca you imagine how stupid it would sound tat you are going to FISH, rebuilding FISH, expanding FISH etc.
I really dont think we should go out of our way to translate the name into Japanese.
Still think Haven is a good choce, lthough a more humble name might be better.

Village Hidden in Truth
Either way, it stands that the first village would be the 'true' hidden village. Secluded so that Shinobi can be born and raised away from influence of Samurai/Rogues/Thieves/Ranking Officials other than the first Kage. It also gives the idea that the village will stand for nothing but the TRUTH. There would be no falsehood within its walls. I think it sounds cool too. >.>

My thoughts on each:
Anything starting with POTS: While i think we should have a callback to POTS, think using the POTS name A.Is just like naming the guild "the sequel/prequel" B.Ties us to POTS much like it would if called ourselves Naruto C.Makes for really long names.
The only real benefit, is it calls back to the village without requiring a similar acronym like my recommendations do.
-Birth of a Village- It's okay. Not my favorite, but... okay
-Formation of a collective- Don't like it. Just doesnt sound Ninja at all.
-Genesis of a village- prefer birth. Just flows a bit better.
-Exodus to Genesis- Honestly sounds like trying to jam too much "big" vocab into the name to me. Plus it doesnt really apply, it could apply to some individual characters but theres no reason it has to apply to the whole village.
-Enigmatic Genesis- Like this one better than Exodus, but it does sound like its still trying to sound "smart". I just dont like the use of bigger vocab just for the sake of bigger vocab. Does sound good though.
-First of the Shinobi- Explains the general new setup. Calls back to the original guild with a similar acronym. Sounds good. This is my favorie. I will skip the rest of my recommendations.

Think this can actually be agreed upon later, since i doubt a hidden village would need to worry TOO hard on a name. Alread stated i dont actuall like FISH. Shingakure would be a cool name, but does seem out of place since its the first hidden village. If we wait until some RP has progressed we may get a better idea of the villages "personality" as well as what it means to people. Maybe that would bring a better name to light.
Although if someone thinks of a better name before then I am all for using it.

I'm actually really fond of Beatriz' suggestion of "IPOTS"
It doesn't change much visually, but it definitely has meaning as far as the direction we are taking in the guild. This would definitely be the initial path of shinobi.
I like it.

DotS isn't bad either, though that's probably just cause I like the word Dawn. An attempted guild Mistah and I tried to do a few years back was DoN, Dawn of Ninja. I found it amusing.
One point worth mentioning. Some people who left us left because they no longer liked PotS. While that can be seen as a reason to distance from that name, we shouldn't try to hide from it either, as that could end badly if people come in thinking we're a different group, and then realize it's just PotS with a new name. Just the feeling of having been "Tricked" into the guild could outweigh any design changes we make that they would otherwise stick around for.
