 "Well, anyway, I have an errand to run. You two take care!" Zero walks down the hallway, adding 'Look into the boy' to his list. But first things first, he made a promise to Kali, and he was going to keep it. ((Zero exits for Xavier's office))

 ⇢ frøm thε αshεs » A FIRE SHALL BEWOKEN « Kali watched the exchange between Zero and John. Then, she watched Zero walk away. She kept watching, as if there were a chance he would turn back. She didn't know why it mattered. Trust was not something that came easy and he had, not one, but two secrets of hers. One, far worse than the other.
She turned back to John and started walking towards the dorms, again. She knew where she was going. She knew the place like the back of her hand, with one study of the map. With one walk through.
She didn't know what to say, so she stayed silent. Silence was usually her go to, remedy for socalizing if she wasn't getting in fights

"You too." John said, waving goodbye. His eyes returned to Kali, who seemed to be back on the move. His facial composure soften a bit as he thought back to what she had said. It was a sad thing, not to have any friends. It had its perks, but it also had its downfalls. Though for some reason, she didn't seem to be normal in the slightest, but it may not be her fault.
Shaking his head, he realized he had zoned off and was being left behind. John returned to her side after jogging to catch up. Releasing a sigh, he glanced over at her for a second and returned to the corridor in front of them. "So.... you have no friends?" John asked in confirmation, trying to re-instigate the conversation.

⇢ frøm thε αshεs » A FIRE SHALL BEWOKEN « Kali was aware that she had left John behind. She was sure that if he truly did want a guide, he would catch up and it wasn't long before she heard the lost boy jogging to her side. She gave him a sideways glance, and kept walking.
"Yes," she said when he asked her if she had no friends. She didn't understand why he asked it, when she had just said she didn't. Did people really lie about not having friends? Was it so surprising that she didn't? She wasn't exactly 'friend' material. She had a temper and she didn't really want anyone close to her. The closer they were, the harder they fell, the more it hurt and the more secrets got out.
She shrugged. "It doesn't bother me."
The only person that she had been remotely nice to, and talked to was her caretaker, but even then...he was a man of science and science was her enemy. So was the government. She had many enemies. With so many to keep her occupied, why would she need friends? Her brain began to pound with the thoughts that ran through her head.

John looked at Kali and studied for a second. People say a lot of things and sometimes they believe they mean it. He was one of those people and he knew for sure that, despite of what she was saying. She'd regret it sooner or later. So he was going to do what he wished people did for him. Speak up.
"I'll be your friend, if not your first friend." John said, looking at her. "I'm not just saying it, just to say it.." John started, but trailed off. He totally didn't think that out all the way. Way to go idiot. Nobody did that, who actually did that. This wasn't the movies. This was not a T.V show. This was definitely not Glee. And he was glad it wasn't.

Had she been eating, or drinking, the words that came out of John's mouth would have sent contents spewing across the room. Since, they were not eating, Kali simply stopped, again with more surprise and confusion mixed, on her face, with wonder.
She turned to look at him. Her shoulders, feet and eyes faced him. This was a serious matter. He didn't know what he was getting into. There was nothing about her that said 'rainbows and sunshine'. In her oppinion, she wasn't the kind of person anyone would want for a friend. She didn't know how to be a friend, only the enemy. She didn't know how anyone knew that they were friends with someone else.
"Why," was the only word that she could find to say. Her voice was riddled with surprise, threat and wonder. She was on guard, caught in the middle of world she did not understand.

It took a second to release that Kali had stopped in her tracks like a deer dazed by headlights. When he had noticed she had, he stopped and look back at her. He knew he had done the wrong thing by saying something like that. It was stupid, immature, and a not very smart move. It was all something he wasn't truly sure on, he wanted to be a good guy, but how could if she kept making it feel so awkward.
Though, there was no going back now. He had already open his mouth. The only thing he could do now was, be sincere and be honest with her. However, what caugh him off guard was when she asked why? He hadn't expected that in the slightest. His facial expression soften as he thought.
"Umm." John hummed as he thought about the question. John shoved his hands deep into his pockets and took a step towards. "Because when you hurt, confused and lost you may need someone to talk to. Someone to just help you have fun and relax.Someone that gets you, for who you are. Plus... no one deserves to be alone in the world. We all need a friend." John said quietly.

You, really, should come with brake lights or some sort of warning, when you are leading someone around. Stupid girl!
His expression softened and she could tell that things were about to get sincere. The words that he spoke, next, began to melt her heart in the way that fire melts ice. She realized that she did want someone to 'get' her, no matter how much she pushed people away.
Everything about Kali softened as the walls she had built began to dissipate.
No one deserves to be alone in the world...
Kali's emerald eyes softened, but remained bright. Her face didn't hold threats and neither did the rest of her body. When she spoke, her word would not be angry or threatening.
"uh...okay, then," she said quietly, still feeling dazed. Still mesmerized by his words. How do you know when someone is your friend, Kali? ...You don't want to kill them...
She began walking, again, but at a pace that let him know she was on the move. She walked at a pace that he wouldn't have to run to catch up with. What do friends do?
"You still wanting to go to your dorm," she asked, not sure if she cared if he said yes. She would take him there. She would take him anywhere he wanted to go. She knew the school well, even if she had only been there for a couple of weeks. She tried to think of what friends did, but she hadn't really paid attention to anyone, doing anything, in the school.

John watched her carefully, he had no idea how she would react. He was going out on a limb and he was really doing the most stupidest thing ever by wearing his heart on his sleeve. But she didn't look like a bad person, but looks were deceiving. He knew this all too well.
Though after a few seconds, he watched as she soften in appearance. Seeming as if she was accepting what he had said with not much trouble, he was glad he could do something for someone while he was here. Even if it was for a short while. Not all of them could be bad, just the X-Men. After all, what they did to him was unspeakable.
However, when she asked if he still wanted to go to his dorm. He nodded, "Yeah, that would awesome." Following after her, his released a sigh, easing the tension he had built up on his chest. It seemed like all would be well, he just needed to play it safe.

 Nightcrawler 'ports in from the Danger Room, looking for Logan, eager to get him to show sometime today. Instead, all he sees is that flame-haired girl, Kali, walking with a random boy. "Probably a new student, we've been getting a lot of them lately." Looking around, he sees Logan standing in the halls, lost in thought, and goes over to him. "Hey Logan."  Logan looks up and sees the elf come up to him. "Hey. Have I been released from my chain to help you out?"

Kurt grinned, and slapped Wolverine on the back. "Yeah, but the Professor wants to be there to...well, keep an eye on things. So, when are you free today? I have a few hours to set things up before the kids come." Logan grinned, knowing that it was probably going to be the Professor or Scott watching him. And he was right, but for Xavier to come himself...that meant something was up. Eyes narrowed now, he turned to the elf. "Hey, elf, did you notice anything weird about the Professor when you went to ask him about the DR session?"
