So my job just moved locations and in the two months we've been there, we've had about a dozen people say they have had unexplainable experiences there. Mostly, the experiences have been happening to people who don't believe in the paranormal.

Last night for the first time, something weird happened to me. A group of seven of us were closing up the building for the night when a battery flew off the front counter and down the central hallway. A minute later, one of my co-worker's eyes got very big and said there was something behind me. It wasn't a pleasant experience, but it's also not gonna stop me from doing my job. I DO plan to bless the place with prayer and holy water before next weekend, though. Can't be too careful I think.

I used to be a big believer in the paranormal, but I've kinda cooled off about it since having the metaphysical experience of being saved. Since then, I've been kind of re-evaluating what I think of certain things based on my new perspective. This one is more or less a no-brainer for me, but I'm interested what the rest of you think. I'd like to open up a friendly discourse on the possibility of spirits among us.

Not ghosts. But spirits. If a supernatural experience causes fear that's something to be concerned about. Demons come in all shapes, sizes, and power. And sadly, these experiences are usually demonic.

My first experience with the paranormal was way weirder, and I barely felt anything about it beyond "wow, cool". This recent experience was distressing. If it had stopped at the battery flying 30 feet down the hallway, I'd have been fine. That tingling down my spine, I REALLY could have done without.

I don't think this spirit is malicious, I just think it's ornery. I don't particularly want it around regardless. Like you said A-B0T, demons come in all flavors and I don't know if it's human or not.

I'm curious, what is a jinn?

They're non-human supernatural creatures in Islam. They're sort of similar to demons, although as I understand it, not all jinn are evil. They have free will like humans, so they can be good or bad, and anything in between. They're mentioned in the Qur-an several times. Islamic Teacher, please feel free to correct, clarify, and expand, because I'm certainly no expert on the subject.

As for the overall topic regarding the supernatural...I'm a skeptic. I think it's absolutely possible that ghosts, spirits, etc. exist. Stranger things have happened. But I personally have not experienced anything especially convincing. My mother and sisters are convinced that our family's country house is haunted...which it might be, I guess. It's very old and has a somewhat macabre history, but I've never witnessed anything that couldn't be easily explained. I've heard some odd noises at night and have felt some cold spots, but...well, it's an old house. Old houses make all kinds of creaks and groans, and there's loads of perfectly ordinary reasons why some areas may feel noticeably cooler than others.

So...yeah, I'm open to the idea of ghosts existing, but I'm not convinced. I guess you could say I'm a ghost agnostic.
