Sh'karin was still a little un-nerved by the fact that L'cian would be joining them, and he smiled cautiously, but still amicable. Inath dipped his head slightly from where he was walking a little way behind. We are all dragonriders now, Sh'karin, he said confidently. We are all equal, in a way... "Hmmm," said Sh'karin, folding his arms slightly, but a smile coming across his face. That was somewhat the truth, he guessed. But he had a lot of respect for L'cian, where he had little for many other people; he had held the Weyr together as the new leader after the time of limbo that the plague had left, and as a brown rider was something to aspire to. Even though Inath would probably not reach Tallith in size. You never know , came a vaguely disgruntled thought.
"Fort? I guess that would be quite a place to live, seeing as it's the oldest Weyr and all," the fifteen year old smiled, and glanced behind. "And you're not interrupting!" He tipped his head a little to the wingleader cheerfully, however bold he felt for doing so. "But if you excuse me for a minute, I'll just go and collect my gear...."
The weyrling set off at a gentle jog towards the barracks. Others may be waiting, but honestly, it was too much effort to bother running...

"Yes, if you don't mind of course. Apparently my brown wants to stretch his wings a little, plus I have to admit the herds have looked better." The instinct to go and speak with the herdsmaster on this matter strangely overwhelmed him but a gentle reminder from Tallith that it was no longer his responsibilty sent him tumbling back to the real world.
I'll have to have words with M'xan. He muttered to Tallith through his mind link. The dragon simply snorted and arched his neck proudly in reply, like his rider he shared a dislike for the new Weyrleader.
L'cian seemed oblivious to the fact that riders may perhaps be a little nervous around him, thinking only of the hunt and where they would go. He remembered the feline hunt that had occured over a turn ago now and smiled lightly. It had been a wonderful experience that was for sure.
He nodded as the younger brown rider excused himself and turned to the blue rider. "I've only ever been to Fort a couple of times, but I must say it's a very nice Weyr, though all of them have their charm. If you need to return to the barracks with the other rider then feel free, I need to drop off some stuff at the weyr myself in a moment."

Nevaeh glanced at the retreating back of Sh'karin and then turned her attention to L'cian and nodded. "Yes sir. Fort was a rather... interesting place while I resided there. And no I already retireved all of my required items from my weyr." Nevaeh said motioning to the bow and ropes attached to Javareth's saddle.
"Though if you have something you need to do then Javareth and I will await you and Sh'karin on the sunning ledges." Nevaeh said. Though Nevaeh's curiousity itched her she kept quiet. She had learned it was best to not ask questions and pry into other riders lives. It tended to anger them.
And they're dragons. Javareth commented as he too had learned some questions were not good to ask though his thick skull still kept him from completely keeping his curious mouth shut.

Sh'karin shuffled through the mess that lay strewn about his floor, grumbling good-naturedly to his partner as he collected together a warmer flying jacket and some gear for hunting. Inath waited patiently outside, turning face up into the sun idly, enjoying the moment of rest but his eyes still whirling gently with unabated hunger. "Shards, Inath, we're now going hunting with some transferrer from Fort and the previous Weyrleader... it's going to be difficult to keep up with the conversation..." His laughing words were slightly muffled as he pulled an extra tunic over his head, frowning at the heat but knowing he would be grateful later on. Nonsense. I already said we are all dragonriders, all equal! Except that L'cian is a wingleader. "Stop making sense when I want to complain," and Sh'karin ambled out of his room, pausing to lock it behind him. V'ran had been back again, and was always asking to borrow his things; best to keep track of them under lock and key. He wasn't suspicious of his fellow weyrling, but rather knew that he had a tendency to forget that he had borrowed things.
Blinking in the sunlight, Sh'karin hefted the two spears, one light, one heavy, and slung them from the holder across his back as he made his way back to his dragon. The brown laid his head down affectionately as his rider came out, making it as least trouble as possible to mount. The dragon knew his rider well; and vice-versa. Javareth says to meet at the sunning ledges, Inath said complacentely. But I really am hungry. We should go soon... "Patience is a virtue," the teenager reminded the brown as he settled himself into his riding straps, tugging to make sure of proper fit. "Come on then..." It was really no way at all to the ledges, and even without the flying jacket on, Sh'karin was already hot. How troublesome...

"Please, just call me L'cian." He said with a smile, moving over to mount Tallith who had remained standing rather patiently. His eyes were a whirl of blue and green and his rider could tell he was more excited about leaving the Weyr for a while rather than the hunt. They had been stuck in Rias for the past week or so as L'cian poured over information concerning Thread and other such things.
"Okay, we'll be back as quick as possible." And with that the great brown leapt skyward, wheeling upwards before straightening his course to their weyr.
~~~
The moment his claws met with stone L'cian was slipping down from his neck and running across the room to put away the hide and writing tools, pausing to eat the last meat roll he had left. In fact they were extremely quick and as Tallith rose up into the air they could see Inath just in front of them.
The brown bugled again, the excitement evident as he tilted on a wing tip to fly in a gentle curve towards the sunny ledge where the blue waited for them.
He met touch down shortly after Inath, folding his pinions half way so that they hung at his sides. "Ready when you are." L'cian called to the others cheerfully, not seeming to notice the heat at all, perhaps he had just grown used to it.
Let us fly! Tallith commented to both rider and the dragons as he arched his neck proudly and swept out his wings.
Nevaeh waited astride Javareth's back for Sh'karin and L'cian on the sunning ledges. The warmth of the ledges brought back memories for Nevaeh of her home before Rias Weyr or even Fort Weyr. Her home where everyday seemed to blend but it was always different. Her home at the Southern Boll Hold. It had always been hot there and the extra heat coming from the ledges always reminded her of the hold.
It wasn't long before both Sh'karin and L'cian were ready and in the air. Javareth bulged and spread his wings taking flight. While still being smaller than the two browns Javareth could easily match the size of a smaller brown.
Off we go then! Javareth replied as he awaited the image he would need from Nevaeh.
Nevaeh smiled calling forth the image of the lands just outside the Rias Weyr walls. Passing it to Javareth Nevaeh noted to Javareth to pass the image along. It wouldn't be good if all three ended up in different areas.
Zelith rumbled with interest as he watched the other dragons take off. I think they go to hunt, he commented to Rinfala.
Rinfala let out something that wasn't quite a sigh or a chuckle, but rather a mixture of both as she paused in beginning to unstrap the riding harness. "And you want to hunt as well? Why not do it here?"
They are restless today, and still thin. And I would like to hunt something with more flavor. Zelith added a hint of a whine to his mental tone, laying his head in front of Rinfala with a pleading expression.
Rinfala grinned despite herself but tried to look stern. "Oh fine...but you get to call to them, since I can't exactly make myself heard from here." Rinfala tightened the strap she'd started to loosen and clambered back up into the harness.
Mine and I would like to come, Zelith said to the group, crouching for takeoff. We are ready, no need to wait.
