It had been a while since Toxkickity had gone completely off the radar, a few weeks. The portals out were opened back up but those eggs hadn't been tracked down yet. Someone was sent to look for them but instead awakened a horrifying monster.
A massive snake creature of inky black with a purplish sheen, dripping dark toxic matter that seemed to burn through grass, had risen up at the edge of the Imaginarium Complex. It had fangs as long as a grown man's forearm and began to roar with fury at all that had come near. This strange creature was enraged by the intrusion and all at once began to tear into the town, chasing any it could. The complex itself was sealed off so those in the Dreaming Domains would be safe from this attack, and it was requested over the loudspeaker for any available to try and help contain this monstrosity.

With Auden sick Victoria had chosen to not go home. The hospitals back home would have been no help. What he needed was right here. It was a silent agreement that everyone would stay here.
After having Alex sneak out a couple of times Victoria had started to send her with Alison to help with the daily what nots. At first it was more a hindrance than a help because Alex felt she was being punished. But, before long she understood what her mother was trying to do and soon after that she had been an enormous help to Alison. Which surprised all of them.
Willow despite her forgetfulness had become the home maker. On occasion you'd find a dustpan on the floor and her in another room reading a book. Victoria had even ventured in the direction of teaching Willow to cook simple things. Mostly things that involved an oven and leaving a timer on...

Alex's ears perked when she heard the loud speaker. 'Any available person'. She could be one of those people! Alison could do with out for a couple of days.
Victoria looked up from her magazine. She could see it in her daughter's eyes. "I don't need another that is bed ridden," she sighed. Who was she to judge? She after all was the one who was now no longer human due to a decision she had made. "But, one must do what is in their heart so please-," her voice cracked. She couldn't bring herself to tell her daughter to come home safe.
Alex felt a bit guilty for worrying her mom, but she had to do this! She stood up from her favorite window spot and walked over to her mom. She wanted to tell her that she would make her mom proud but decided not to. Her mother was almost in a fit of tears. So, instead she gave her a hug.
Victoria hugged Alex tight.
Alex stepped back and nodded her head. Everything that needed to be said had been said nonverbal during that hug. She half smiled before running out the door.

Alex was entirely clueless on what to do and where to go, so she decided she would do what she did best- Find it and face it head on. The best way to find it was to be up high, so the first place she was headed was up the nearest tree.
