DJ Hope 1990 My problem all along has been timing. I was moving to a differet country and what not. So now that i'm stable, I just need help figureing out time zones. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/Clocks around the world. You can type in specific cities too, or just select big cities nearby. : )

Marion-san Sorry for the late in coming... Haha.... A masquerade actually sounds fabulous to me, and I rather enjoy the idea that we could relate it to a school-type dance. Perhaps we could have it be a private high school/university (just so we can get older characters involved as well) and just have fun with it. As for staff vs guest... I would have no qualms being a staff, so long as my expectations in so doing are laid out (like... what exactly do I need to accomplish, etc). This is my first year actually working to help set this up, so I want to make sure I'm doing this right. : ) Thank you for that website previous post. I have it bookmarked now. And don't worry, I'll be very clear. heart Lets see. I need to get this started up so we can get this ball rolling. I like the idea of making it a mixed school - so that we can have a larger array of characters too.

DJ Hope 1990 Violet the Maestro DJ Hope 1990 Violet the Maestro Well I was thinking a star party as a sort of mini-event. I think if we have a bunch of different mini-events within the same thread, it shouldn't be that hard. Star parties are usually where people go out and look at the stars together. I get some together randomly at my school cause there's a few people in my floor who have never gotten to see the stars this clearly. I likes it. We could do that as a school rp thread thing too. We could even have a school dance (*coughs* masquerade*coughs*) as well as other 'schoolized' events. My thing is do we wanna go with the school thing? It was the idea that came in second to zodiac. So I was thinking we could twist it up. Host Violet Says: I really wanna see this get up as soon as possible, so perhaps we could have a meeting with everyone to hammer this out? I have been working on affiliating with some guilds, but the roleplaying thread really helps us out. I'm pretty sure that once we have a meeting, things will fall into place quite nicely. Committee Violet Says: What sort of a twist are we talking here? I'm really interested in that. Also, I'm trying to bring my brother into the AURB. So, most likely, I'll bring him to this committee, since it's one that I think he'd be pretty good in. Well we could twist the school idea into the zodiac theme - but not in an obvious way of course. I would really like some help. I also REALLY bloody need the graphics commitee to step up their response to me. Months between responses and graphics is NOT making my job easy AT ALL. I might as well just try to do the art myself at this rate. (sorry. Rant over) I would love to get into one of those meetings. My problem all along has been timing. I was moving to a differet country and what not. So now that i'm stable, I just need help figureing out time zones. It doesn't help we don't really have anyone but you and myself, and my "maybe" co-head that has yet to respond to me other than the PM of me asking her to be my new co-organizer of this committee. -sighs- ... If you need graphics, well, I joined them not too long ago. So, I can make them if we need. I can't draw, but I know people who can, and I can typically coerce them or something when I need to. I can step in and help organize until your possible new co-head comes in. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Seriously. I'm one of the hosts of this thing. I would suck at it if I wasn't willing to help people. We've got a couple more people, so that should help. As far as figuring out time zones, you could start a thread asking for times that would work well for everyone. Quote everyone so they definitely see it. As far as twisting the zodiac into a school, we could use another zodiac perhaps? Or maybe just constellations that aren't being used at all. I think I'm gonna stalk around Gaia and see what sorts of zodiac roleplays are out there to get some inspiration.

DJ Hope 1990 LilChibiusa Hey, also, just a suggestion, I would try to keep everything as walk-in as possible. Try not to overdo the character profiles and structure to make it more accessible to random people who want to join in. Otherwise, you might end up with just the people from the ball roleplaying. And, while that is fun, it kind of defeats the purpose, so just keep that in mind. I also advice against an OOC thread since there won't be one during the ball, and those things often aren't check often anyway. Even if it might look a little tacky, I recommend allowing notes at the bottoms of posts just to keep things simple and unconfusing. biggrin I wasn't really gonna make it complicated. I LOVE good structured threads - but after all this isn't really going to be an outstanding RP. It's more of an attention grabber - where all of the regulars draw attention to he guild and the ball. I will also be advertising throughout the rp with my own character. You are afterall, right. razz Don't be so quick to call me right. I can be wrong quite a bit! sweatdrop But, last year, there seemed to be many problems with the advertising RP, and there were some cast members upset. That, and it wasn't really getting non-ball staff involved. I hope that the RP you run this year will be very successful! Good luck! biggrin

I GIVE YOU! The AURB Advertising RP!!!! It looks pretty good, but I was thinking this would be a walk-in. After all, that is what the Ball roleplaying style is. The only people who should really be in need of a profile would be those of us who are staff. Regular non-staff people should just be able to walk in, no profile, no long term commitment.

I was under the impression that it was? There are several places in which she says that. However, it does give the option to make a profile, in order to use the stronger magic. Which, I think, makes sense to keep the abuses down. Violet the Maestro It looks pretty good, but I was thinking this would be a walk-in. After all, that is what the Ball roleplaying style is. Yeah, it's not very obvious. Perhaps something in the title? Cause otherwise, it's gonna get looked over by SO many people. And, it may be confusing to some people.

You only need to make a profile if a Moderator Asks you too. Generally, we are going to be only asking our frequent flyers to role play in here to make an RP because this is a walk in/out RP, you can come and go as you please. If you would like to make a profile though, please feel free too! If you do not have a profile, you may not use heavy magic. Check out the Magic Guild lines for more info! those are the first two rules. As usual we have picked a theme where some where within it lies a hint of what this years theme is going to be for the ball - without directly relating too it. Mystery and fun awaits everyone in this RP as we go on an adventure together, awaiting the day of which the ball arrives! This is an OPEN rp, meaning anyone can come and go as they please - and profiles are not required unless you wish to become a permanent magician here within the walls of the Academy. That is a paragraph in the explanation directly under the first post ^_^;
