This is the Square of the Shiganshina District.
It is quiet and sober place where the inhabitants are in constant fear of yet another Titan 'leak' through the walls. It is also, however, the district with the highest soldier to population ratio as well. If one walks about the streets, one will most definitely see far more soldiers with their 3DMG than civilians, surveying and watching the area.
This is also the place where people tend to gather when meeting someone. As a result, it is also where peddlers in any number of shady trades will try to sell those waiting something.
