Pretty sure you could sell something like the first one for around 60-80k
Possibly even more with how pricy Artists are here on Gaia. I don't want to be pricy, I want to be honest and fight for the rights of men and women alike. Bringing equality and passive-aggressiveness to the world.Don't ruin it for the rest of us.
mad Coloring on the first one is pretty intense. I sell my shitty art for usually what people bribe me with. That has been anywhere between 140k-1.2m (the latter for a group piece I was working on for a really long time).
I usually charge by how long it takes me to make the piece. Therefor extra details=extra dough.
Price your stuff for 100k at least. Even 150k.
Headshots should be significantly cheaper than anything else. 60-80k.
Busts=120k
Full body=150k.
Do they want it colored? Add at least 20k to each price if not more.
I tend to find that people
like paying a lot for art. The price seems to translate into "oh, they must be good!" or "oh people must really like them."
Never underestimate the oddness of the average idiot.
Most of those took me about a day a few more because I fidgeted with the anatomy and gave up or simply procrastinated. (they look even look like it, always strive to be a better artist kids.) You sound like you own a or have owned a bribe shop? That seems like a huge gamble but I was actually thinking of opening one since it gives the client a certain freedom (but not too much, I mean come on I'M the one drawing not them) and might make them feel more at ease in a shop since you can discuss prices.
I was thinking about:
Chibi-style: 100k
Headshot/Bust: 70k
Waist-up: 140k
Fullbody: 250k
Sketch + 20k
Lineart only + 40k
Colored + 60k
Background - Simple + 60k
Background - Detailed + 100k
Additional character(s) + 80k each
MMM i'm not so pumped for the additional pricing on sketch/line art stuff. GENERALLY when I'm looking at well rounded prices, I'm thinking that it's either FOR a sketch or line art. Those prices make me a little pissed.
Yes, I've owned multiple shops under different names. I'm setting my current one up right now, House of Cards (a regular art shop that accepts item bribes as well).
I would say make the average price for lineart. Don't add gold on for line art that's a shitty deal.
Make yourself stand out - if people just want a sketch, mark it as -20k or something rather than +20k.
wink That always makes people excited when they see they can save money. Makes them think they're getting a better deal.
Additional character in my opinion should be +100k. Just because it's double the work and you're already not doubling the price.
Also, always reserve the right to deny/accept any requests and declutter avis at your will. Let them know if they step up the price then you'll consider drawing the cluttered avi as it is.
Always play hard ball.
