The Dark Pines
The forest above DarkClan's territory is dark and dense. The sun rarely if ever touches the musty ground of the territory. The DarkClan cats can easily find their way through their own territory, but if your anyone else, know you are in for some trouble. As they say, the trees have eyes and you never know when a DarkClan cat will pop out of nowhere and tear you to shreds. Its almost as if the trees are fighting against those that are not their own clan. Walk into the Dark Pines and you may never find your way back out.

But one day...
Shouting Wildstar! The damp air hit her face as she came to the end of the tunnel that brought her to one of her favorite place, the dark pines. It was one of the few places where she could disappear to and if caught get nothing more then a lecture from one of the many adult cats. They couldn't truly punish her cause the danger here was minimum.
Before stepping a paw out of the tunnel she opened her mouth to scent if there was any danger....Nothing. She peered around till her eyes adjusted to the world above and when they did things seemed perfectly safe. Lastly she closed her eyes and listened, something, like most DarkClan cats, she relied on the most. Still there was nothing more then the sound of some birds.
When she opened her eyes once more to peer out into the forest floor she felt her body relax and stepped out of the safety of the tunnels. She ventured further out, her tail waving happily in the air. A loud purr rumbled in her throat as she enjoyed the softness of the forest floor beneath her paws. It was so different from the hard cold ground below where they lived.
She paused mid step when a soft breeze blew across the forest floor. She turned her head so that it ruffled her fur, eyes closing as she enjoyed the sensastion. Unlike the other cats of her clan Wildpaw loved being above above ground. Down below she felt trapped down there. But not up here. Up here she felt as if she could run forever and never have to worry about anything in her way.
When the breeze halted she slowly opened her eyes and looked upward toward a large pine tree. Her blue gaze searched the tree for paw holds, anything that could allow her to get up in it. She gave a roll of her shoulders and flexed her claws before running up to the pine and taking a leap. Her aim was perfect as she dug her claws into the bark and shimmed up to the nearest branch.
Once upon the nearest branch she stood there looking around her and down below at the forest floor. This wasn't enough...She wanted to climb higher. Tail swaying to give her balance she looked upward to debate her next move. It didn't take her long before she was climbing toward the fifth branch upwards. Here she decided to rest and just enjoy herself by stretching out on the branch. It was thick enough so she didn't have to worry about falling. And feel the wind running through my fur.

DˎˊˋˏaˎˊˋˏrˎˊˋˏkˎˊˋˏCˎˊˋˏlˎˊˋˏaˎˊˋˏnˎˊ ˋˏWˎˊˋˏaˎˊˋˏrˎˊˋˏrˎˊˋˏiˎˊˋˏoˎˊˋˏr Shadowpelt emerged from the tunnels into the Dark Pines. He stretched a bit, before opening his mouth to better draw in scents. He caught that of Wildpaw first, though that wasn't his biggest concern. He was out to hunt now. Finally, he caught the scent of rabbit. He made sure to step softly, dropping to a hunting crouch when he caught sight of his target.
The unsuspecting soon-to-be-prey was upwind. It didn't notice his dark belt by sight either, since the area around them was also dark. He prowled forward carefully, leaping at the last possible moment and landing hard on the rabbit. He bit into its neck and killed it swiftly. Pleased with himself, he wondered if he should keep going. He covered his kill for now, moving along to see if he could find something else.

Shouting Wildstar! Stretched out upon her branch the young she-cat's eyes were half closed when the sound of pawsteps drifted upward. Though panicking inside she remained calm on the outside as her ears swerved toward the tunnel. Her blue gaze soon followed just in time to see Shadowpelt appear into sight. She leaned a bit to get a better look at him. It was obvious he had caught her scent but he paid it no mind. Curious as to what he was doing he rose to his paws, careful to keep her balance with the help of her bushy tail. The branch beneath her paws swayed ever so slightly but it hadn't disturbed the rabbit Shadowpelt had chosen as his prey. She watched from her perch, wondering if he would indeed catch the rabbit. By the time he sank he had begun to move in for the kill she already knew the outcome. Her whiskers quivered with happiness knowing the clan now had fresh prey to feed on. Maybe she should do something to help rather then just lounge in the tree. Tornstar would yell at her for sure for her laziness.
Getting down was much easier then climbing up. She carefully clawed downward a little before jumping the rest of the way down and landing almost silently upon the ground. "Nice catch." she called to him as a greeting as she walked up to him. Her blue gaze was upon the rabbit, admiring the catch "Would you like me to carry it back, i'm sure the elders would love some breakfast." she made no move to grab the prey. It wasn't hers to begin with. If Shadowpelt didn't want her to touch it she wouldn't dare do so. And feel the wind running through my fur.

DˎˊˋˏaˎˊˋˏrˎˊˋˏkˎˊˋˏCˎˊˋˏlˎˊˋˏaˎˊˋˏnˎˊ ˋˏWˎˊˋˏaˎˊˋˏrˎˊˋˏrˎˊˋˏiˎˊˋˏoˎˊˋˏr Shadowpelt blinked in surprise as he heard a soft landing behind him. Reflexively the hair on the back of his neck stood up a bit and his claws flexed slightly as he looked for the source of the sound. He immediately relaxed again when he saw it was only Wildpaw. Well, that explained where the apprentice had gone: Up.
"I'd appreciate that, thanks. I wanted to hunt more but it's better not to risk something stealing that." Shadowpelt answered the young she cat. He nodded a farewell to the other, before turning once again to move on.

Shouting Wildstar! She gave a small nod of her head just before taking a step forward and lowered her head toward the rabbit. She sunk her teeth in, but was careful not to rip the flesh, and picked it up. She held her head high to keep the rabbit from dragging. With a wave goodbye with her tail she turned and walked through the tunnel she had used to come up to the surface. Without hesitation she entered the familiar tunnel, barely giving her eyes time to adjust to the dark. Besides it wasn't like she needed her eyes for this, she used her whiskers and the feel of the floor to guide her. And feel the wind running through my fur.

After a while, he'd managed to find a mouse and a toad. Pleased with the results, he headed back to camp. He plunged back into the tunnels with ease, quickly adjusting to the dark.
