Dorian strode through the halls, a scowl on his normally cheerful face. He felt as though his heart had been ripped out of his chest and stomped on and then poked through by a fire poker. Love was not all it was cracked up to be. Ursula had proven that point. Still..he wasn't so sure that he was completely over her or ever would be.
He wasn't sure if she was over him either. Still..the way she flounced around on the arm of a different guy every day made him feel even worse. Of course she didn't care if she hurt him, she never had. He was just a plaything to her and nothing more. His eyes narrowed on the back of her head where she was sitting next to some gryffindor boy and stroking his arm softly with her fingers. Bloody hell, he wasn't going to take this anymore.
He had taken the higher road, trying not to hurt her nor trying to get back at her. Enough was enough though. She obviously didn't care, so now he didn't care if he hurt her. Perhaps if he found someone else to put his attentions on that would make her notice him again. If she thought he had moved on, then perhaps she'd want him. More than likely it would work, she always wanted what she couldn't have.
But now he had to figure out what girl he was going to use to get back at her with. He frowned. He didn't want to hurt some innocent girl, so perhaps he should find a girl who would be willing to go along with it. A sudden image of a dark haired beauty flashed through his head, causing him to stop and muse over her.
If he recalled correctly her name was Saxon, and Quill had been hanging out with her recently. Perhaps she might be game. Quill had mentioned that he had been trying to help her get a boyfriend and that she had been so shy that she was going to need more lessons. Perhaps Dorian could help her out by letting her practice on him. Then they'd both get what they wanted.
Now he just had to find her. He remembered she was often seen reading in several different places. He glanced around the Great Hall to see if she was in there eating and reading..and didn't spy her at the Hufflepuff table. He shrugged his shoulders and grabbed a biscuit and then headed off to search the rest of the castle.
As he was walking towards the library he happened to glance out one of the tall windows and saw that Saxon was sitting under a tree with her legs folded underneath her with her nose stuck in a book. He smiled, and then headed to the side door and let himself out. He paused when he was halfway to her, not wanting to startle her. From what he recalled Quill saying, she was kind of jumpy and startling her would start things out rather badly.
"Saxon?" He called, hoping that she would hear him and not be too surprised that a boy was seeking her out.

Saxon had finished her homework. Finally! she was in an interesting part of her book. Clearwarter was just getting into a fight with the man that had swept in and gotten the approval for Sassy's hand. She scooped up her book and waved to some of her friends headed for food. She was just gonna finish her book first. Saxon headed out of the common room and slipped through the hall. She had slipped into some of her normal clothes to be more comfortable then her uniform. She was in her favorite pale green dress. Her hair was back to its dark chocolate brown. Quillan had told her he liked her better with it dark. So she had been going between dark brown and dark blonde. She had even went blue once. Her brown hair was pulled away from her face in a head band and she trotted out the doors and onto the lawn. She grinned up into the sunlight and headed for her favorite reading tree. She settled down, her robes protecting her dress as she sat. She glanced around and then pressed her nose into her book.
Saxon was lost in the story line. Clearwater was the perfect cowboy. The Americas seemed such a wild and romantic place. She bit her lip. A cowboy was what she needed. She grinned closing her eyes. Quillan had told her to think of the man she wanted. Light hair, Charming devil may care smile, Eyes that glittered playfully. She wanted to laugh in life. She knew that much. She had rested her head back and grinned. Thats when she heard her name. From a male voice. She opened an eye. Ok... that was creepy... Think about his voice... Was that what she wanted in voice? She looked around and started, seeing a guy there she fussed with her dress making sure her legs were covered to her ankles. "Y-yes?"

As Dorian drew closer he realized that he had startled her despite his not wanting to. He waited for her to rearrange her dress before he took a seat on the grass in front of her. He ran his hand through his hair and tried to think of what he should say.
If he told her that Quill had confided her secret in him she'd probably want to hurt his roommate. Though that would be entertaining to watch, Dorian didn't want to get Quill mad at him again. Especially since last year they had had a major falling out.
"I'm Dorian, one of Quill's roommates. I noticed that he was hanging around you a lot and wondered would you allow me to do the same? I've got a girl that I would like to make jealous. She broke my heart and now I kind of want to get back at her. She claims she doesn't love me but I know she's lying. She just doesn't want to admit it..or appear weak."
Dorian could feel his eyebrow start to twitch and reached up and pinched it to stop it from catching her attention. "So would you be interested in perhaps..acting like you're my girlfriend? If you aren't, well I guess I'll have to try something else."

Saxon looked the boy over as he moved closer. He wasn't going to hurt her. She wasn't really afraid of that. She was more worried about the fact that he was a boy. She was already tongue tied. He had caught her fantasizing about her dream boy and so her face was turning red.
She listened to him speak. Roommate... not friend. So he was slytherin... And they weren't friends. Her warning flags went up. She wanted to hang out with her? Her inner girl smiled and went yes please! Her mind was still on alert. And then his reasoning came. He wanted to use her to make another girl jealous? She flushed. That was going to be hard for him. Quill was working her to be better around guys... But Quillan couldn't touch her even. Sure she had moments where she let him in her space but he hadn't really... touched her... and making a girl jealous involved things like... holding hands... and innocent kisses in the hall. Her blush couldn't get brighter. She had never been kissed. Read about them... but never actually tried it.
"W-w-well you re-really sh-shouldn't um..." She bit her lip and glanced up and then away. Ok Quillan's lesson. Make eye contact and speak slowly. She looked up and forced herself to look up and meet his eyes. "May-maybe you shouldn't want to... get her back..." She gave him a smile. "M-make her jealous... T-thats fine... b-but yo-you sh-shouldn't want her t-to hurt... if you s-still love her." She had read enough books to know that much.
Her eyes went up to where he touched his eyebrow and she bit her lip. She had never had a boy friend. What would she have to do. She didn't want to give him her first kiss... she had told Quillan that she believed it should be special... and yes she had lied a bit saying she had been kissed often... but then again... she did by family. "Wh-what would i ha-have to do?"

Dorian could see that Saxon looked a bit worried and glanced around. Surely they were secluded enough that no one had overheard them. Though it might be smarter to take the conversation elsewhere. He turned back and was surprised to see that her face had gone a bright red.
Surely she didn't feel self conscious with being seen with a boy did she? Maybe what he had thought of initially wouldn't be a good idea, especially with Saxon. Still even if it was just non physical stuff and he appeared to have moved on, Ursula would end up jealous anyway.
If he hadn't felt so terrible by the way Ursula was flaunting around the school carelessly with so many other guys he probably would have just told her to forget about it and moved on. As it was, Dorian was raging with jealousy and hated how easily Ursula was making him so distracted. He had reasoned that if he had someone to distract him from her he'd not notice her as much.
"Maybe I just need a friend to help me forget her." He replied softly. "She doesn't seem to care that she's hurting me. It rather infuriates me that she can just forget about me that easily." he blinked to keep his eyes dry. Gosh..he was nearly crying over her! He really needed some help.
"How about we just hang out then? I could carry your books for you, we could hang out on the weekends and talk, maybe just be friends. If she thought for one second that I had moved on that might be enough to bother her and make her all jealous." He suggested.
Dorian could see she was still unsure of what he wanted of her. He could see that she thought he'd demand something of her that she wasn't ready for. "Just what you want to do. I'm not going to ask you to do anything that you're uncomfortable with."

Saxon watched him carefully. She could be a friend. She could be an amazing friend. Quillan had told her he liked her as a friend so that meant she was good at it... right? She frowned. Her heart went out to the boy. Afterall... everyone should have a happy ending with the person they loved.
Saxon was holding out hope the girl was just scared and not bitterly trying to hurt him. She knew she wouldn't be able to completely forget a boy that claimed to love her. She saw him double blink and she looked down to give him a moment to compose himself.
She smiled a big smile as he offered to just hang out. "I would... Like that." Her stuttering had gone down since he was going to be a friend. Friend zone was a safe place for boys to be. Thus she could talk to them as well as if they were just one of the girls. "I d-dont mind just being friends with you... D-dorian " She grinned. "You w-would have to go a little out of your way to c-carry my books... B-but its sweet of you to offer." She flushed a bit. "I usually ju-just read on the weekends... B-but we could hang out together... d-do you read?"
She glanced to her book and then back to him. What was she comfortable with. "Well... we could... maybe ho-hold hands?" She didn't know how much physical she was willing to go... Afterall all the physical she had had was from Quillan Or family... And that wasn't a lot.

Dorian wasn't sure what was making her watch him so carefully, but if it helped her make up her mind about him he didn't mind that much. Though it did make him feel like an insect under a microscope. Or like someone was trying to bore a hole through his skull and read his thoughts.
He was relieved when she smiled at his offer. Her stuttered reply wasn't as stinted as it had been before. He figured she was more comfortable with the idea of being friends instead of faking being his girlfriend. "I'm glad." He replied smiling back at her.
"Friends it is. Well if you change your mind about needing help with your books, just let me know." He replied ignoring her flushed look. He imagined she had the thought that such a thing was a romantic gesture and it made her feel odd about having a friend do it for her. "It's not something that just boyfriends do, friends help each other out when the other needs it."
He wasn't surprised to hear she was a reader, he recalled seeing her sitting around the campus at odd places with her nose stuck in a book. "Oh I read a lot. We could hangout and read together if you'd like."
Dorian blinked in surprise at her suggestion. She was actually comfortable enough to hold his hand. He grinned back at her and held his hand out to her. "Want to try now?"
