The Imaginarium Complex

Explanation

This location is essentially the main town of the realm. It features several different building types and can be increased to include more. It's kept on walking traffic levels and has plain cobblestone streets and nice little sidewalks. Most of the shops run by the Sweet Dreams Company are based on a 'how much would this be needed or used' basis so there aren't many NPC shops for specialty stores, those can be user or player created NPC run.

The Imaginarium's Rules and Shops

The Imaginarium Complex is essentially the main town of the area. It can be expanded easily since this realm is entirely under the control of the main companies, and the Complex is on a much larger, though presently inaccessible continent.

The stores here are essentially extremely basic at present, most of the locations things that were felt like they'd actually be put to use by the Manifests and their Caretakers. One can get a job here at one of the main jobs or for a certain fee, attempt to open up their own more specific business.

Service Locations & Public Works

These are places less for the buying or selling of goods & services and more for actually being able to do or need things or just major public places. Most are free or for membership fees that make them simpler.

Locations

* DayDreamers Mercy Hospital
Very important for the care of Manifests, their guardians, and whatnot. There may be doctors at the hatchery, but that isn't an emergency room and it can't deal with guardians. This hospital can.

* The Multi-Medi-Center
This place has a regular doctor, a pediatrician, an eye-doctor, a psychologist and a physical therapist all in one large clinic type place. They have their offices together and tend to be really friendly and helpful to each other. Since Manifests are generally covered and their guardians can be cheaply handled since they're part of the project, it's mostly just on really cheap co-pays, insurance not needed.

* Imaginarium Police Department
Generally more like mall security types, they handle very basic threats - fights, theft, graffitti if it's inappropriate, things of that nature.

* The Fire Department
This building is connected to the police station, but these guys have hovercars and an pretty much zip to a fire and blast it out or rush in with packs to put it out. Buildings can be pretty easily evacuated and this is one of the few times they will insist on better technology. Safety first! They can handle fires besides just regular fires - sometimes chemical fires can happen at the Dream Hatchery after all!

* Imaginarium Works & Welfare Department
This department is in charge of things like clean-up projects, keeping the city clean and repaired, things like that. They almost all work for the Sweet Dreams Company but it's still there so Manifests can get in touch with them more directly about local businesses or projects, and after one gets an official permit for a business, placing it. They also plan any events or parades or whatever.

* Dreaming On Away Public Library
It's a public library - reference books, children's books, school books, the works.

* Imaginarium Public School
This is a basic local school type establishment that runs under really simple systems. They teach 2 classes a day, then have lunch and older students who aren't taking more specific job related courses are released after lunch. Younger kids are kept in to learn basic classes, and it's mostly for socialization and necessary things about dream types and classes. These aren't required but reccomended.

* Playground
This is a playground. It's a little more widespread and has more equipment than the small one at the Dreaming Domains.

* Park
It's an open park, partly connected to the playground, that leads to the treeline and has walking paths. It's pretty nice, has some critters that hang around it, and is generally just a nice little area with walking paths and some running trails through the small woods and back to the main town.

Shops & Establishments

These are the main eaterys and marts and things of the like in the Imaginarium Complex. They're pretty general so don't go looking for anything specific here. Unless you are looking for General Specific. I could totally see him hanging about here, trying to catch that sheep.

Store Listing

* General Store
It sells pretty much your basic stuff. Soft drinks, chips, candy, band-aids, personal hygeine products, new can openers (but if you buy the dollar ones those are s**t), that sort of thing. Cheap, basic stuff. This is where you can get office supplies too, in bulk usually.

* Creativity Express
It's a hobby shop. They sell fabrics, and doll wigs, and paints and stuff like that. Think an Michael's Arts and Crafts had a secret affair with Jo Ann Fabrics. This is their really really boring middle child in their family of like 15 superstores and one tiny shop in nebraska which is the youngest and totally hipsterific.

* Mackenzie's Lowprice Thrift, Curio, & Clearance Shop
They sell cheap repurchased goods. Either for hipsters, or just if you are broke. These things tend to be donated from techs' old homes, or their families, or even guardians. There are some from outside places but these are the main places for it. There are also like some interesting stuffs hanging about in the back. She will consider pawning goods but usually Mack sells regular stuff pretty cheap and isn't worried about fancy pawning rules. She gives better credit too.

* The Domain Depot
They sell hardware and furniture. It isn't cheap swedish made impossible to put together furniture, but just regular plain furniture and if it's assembleable they can probably bloody send someone to assemble it. It isn't all artsy unless you specifically order or pay more for it. Their hardware and paint stuff is pretty good too - pretty casual and whatnot.

* The BookWorm
This is a book store but they also will sell music cds, movies, book related things like bookmarks, and calendars. This place is really friendly and playful, and features a big goofy drawing of a worm/caterpillar type in glasses on the front. They sell every kind of book from text, to reference, to coloring, to even game books like D&D books. One of the managers will even run roleplaying games in the back at some of the larger reading tables, for those who want to try those out.

* The Toy Zone
This is toy store. They can order video games for you, or systems, but mainly it's physical games. They have sidewalk chalk, and jumpropes, but also board games like monopoly. They have plushies, dolls, action figures, and even some things in between. There's a lifesize dragon plush at the back with a saddle on it that kids can sit on and it will move a little but it's not for sale. They also sell dice and trading cards. Card games on motorcycles are not reccomended in the Imaginarium Complex because motorcycles are dangerous on sidewalks.

* The Mart
This is a pretty general grocery store. They sell fruits, vegetables, grains, yada yada. Yada yada is delicious. Dairy products in the back, frozen stuff is back there, there are aisles of canned goods. It's a grocery store. There are no restaurants or bakeries or any of that in it, however, because there are restaurants and bakeries like right next door.

* The Sweet Treat
This is the general Sweet Shop. They have candy, sodas, ice cream, and things like that. There are also cookies and brownies. There may or may not be singing candy sellers who will tell you about what the candy man can do.

* The Bakery
This bakery bakes not only bread and rolls but things like doughnuts. They have pretty good donuts. No I'm not sure how that word should be spelled. They also have cakes. Some can be specially requested to be fancily iced or have special stuff in them (like banana bread when it's not banana bread day!) but normally it's pretty regular stuff.

* Johnny's
This is a general diner style place. They serve burgers and fries and make malted milkshakes. There may or may not be a jukebox and lots of movie memorabelia from alien worlds.

* Al's Pizzeria
This place is the local pizza shop. They do pizzas to request if you don't like their usual styles. They do anything from Chicago style to extra cheesy to like nothing on it. They will even do the none pizza with sausage.

* Vaguely Eastern Delights
This is a vaguely asian themed restaurant. They do some pretty mixed stuff from sushi to chinese restaurant type stuff, to actual chinese type meals, to that thai stuff with a ton of peanut oil on it. It's mainly by request but the chinese menu is the most common and prolific.

* Cafe Du Champ
It is pronounced Do Shamp. It is named because of some obscure game no one cares about. It's a cafe. They sell coffee. And hipster cookies. They have free wifi. There are rolls. And biscotti. Mainly coffee.

* Dahlia's
This is a danceclub. They do ballroom or ballet dancing lessons and such upstairs during the daytime but mainly it's a danceclub at night. Downstairs there is a private room that does dancing and has a bar but you have to be over teen to get down there.

* Gothic Mona's Velvet Darke
This is the closest anyone is getting to a specialty shop. This is a bar but they serve non-alcoholic stuff too, and non-alcoholic beer as well. It's mostly just an artsy dress up club where people play at being vampires - or really are vampires. Their main painting is a gothic style painting that resembles a woman who seems to be a vampiric interpretation of the Mona Lisa. It's actually the owner, Amira, but her nickname's Mona because of her look and smile. It's complicated. The techs like it so they kept it.

* The Healthy Hub
It is not actually a shack, but it definitely serves healthy food and vegetarian type dishes. Lots of yogurts or waters or milk and stuff. Fresh sandwiches and soups too.

* The Pharmacy
This place is where one can buy their major needs stuff. Perscription pills, or having glasses made, or just buying a different brand of aspirin since the current kind doesn't help your migraines. There are also things here like neck pillows or foot baths or dandruff shampoos for those who really need it. Or even just vitamins and little simple health things towards the front.
