I didn't hear until just now. A huge step in the right direction, and such positive movement is good, worth celebrating as a victory as long as we don't lose sight of the fact that there's still much to be done. 4laugh

Definitely. Tonight is reserved for parties, but tomorrow it's back to work on projects like a trans-inclusive ENDA and other items. biggrin

TheWalkingThread Now, if they'll only get everything else right. Indeed. Yesterday they screwed up so royally that it made me very concerned for today's decisions. Unfortunately, we're now beholden to that batch of lazy, ineffectual twits in congress for a new section 4 of the Voting Rights Act.

I don't want to be back in the states for what is happening right now. After the public disclosure of the NSA PRISM program and virtually every ivory tower elite spying on us. None of them are trust worthy enough with the privilege of leading. I hear drums... I don't know about you.

If I'm perfectly honest, I'd rather be in Sweden or Finland right now (although for more reasons that just PRISM and the messed up way things are here in the US right now). As far as PRISM goes, I'm about to show my optimism flag. It's my hope that the public is riled enough that we can get the legislation that made such things as the PRISM program legal, the inappropriately name "Patriot Act," removed. It may be hoping for too much, but I'm an optimist and an idealist.

Till the government takes away peoples computers and their right to go anywhere without going through check points. People will remain complacent. But if that happens, expect there to be red streets. Because there are still many many loyalists that support anything the government does.

I believe reform will only come from playing the fear back in the government.

Costa Rican conservatives failed to read a bill, and approved a bill legalizing LGBT rights and civil unions on accident. Their president refused their request to veto the bill and signed it into law. Bloody hilarious! xd
