Out of no where Hanns began to laugh uncontrollably at the guardians reply. He put and hand to his stomach almost falling over from it. After a bit he stopped. Straightening himself out he looked straight at the swordsman. "No no no dear guardian, your asking the wrong question. It is not if I am worthy of you. No no! The question is 'If your worthy for me?' He responded while gesturing a hand towards himself. His attention was brought towards the Tessa as she pleaded to Lex. She had such ambition in her voice. It was clear that she did truly want to claim the guardian to be her own. "Ooooo such a determined voice you got there miss. Well I don't want to get in the way of such a beauty on a mission." Instantly he fell to the ground into a cross legged position. " The lady may go first. After all I would love to see how this turns. I can sense a good show about to start." He said as well as clapping his hands together out of excitement.

“Hold fast in faith’s deliverance”
This man garbled in black really ticked her off and frankly she hoped the guardian would ask for a show of strength between the two but now he had spoken no words and she could not read his emotions at all if he had any. " Why don't you just leave, you're becoming something of an eyesore"
Normally, Tessa would refrain from insulting someone she knew so little of, but right now, nothing was going according to her plan. The guardian was essentially ignoring her and this scoundrel of a man was really really infuriating her.

Following the harsh comment Hannsel put his hands to his chest like he was in pain. "Ooooo that stings my dear girl." He arched over gripping his chest a bit harder. "To think that you would find out my only weakness. Minor and mediocre insults." The man then began to groan sounding to be in pure agony. Falling onto his back he then started to roll from side to side. After a few seconds he reach up with his other hand trying to get hold of something. Then he went limp his arm falling to the ground beside him. For a few seconds he was still. Without warning he sat back up being perfectly fine and laughing. His little act amused himself. "If only that were true. Then you would be rid of me. Nope my dear your stuck with this audience. Maybe I wouldn't be such an eyesore if you stopped staring at me. Yes I know that I am a looker to boot, that doesn't mean that you have to strain your eyes because of it." He said bringing his laughter down to mere chuckles.

Lex stared blankly at Tessa as she was asking him to test her to prove herself to him. She was much like others who had came before her, determined, strong-willed, but still the same. A shame really, was she truly in need of him that badly? He did not need her though. Then his head turned to the man cloaked in black as he spoke. He was so...bold...in his comments about who was worthy of who. He was amusing to watch but not exactly what he was looking for in a summoner as it seemed pride may be an issue. However, he did seem to have confidence in his ability but so did the woman. Then they started bantering with each other. He almost let out a sigh as the two threw insults at each other like children. Looking at the two, he was able to read them to a degree. From what he could tell, Tessa wanted him in order to achieve higher attainment whereas the male wanted higher power. They were vague determinations but also selfish ones.
Lex decided to speak, "Tessa Lin of Phoenix Flare, for what purpose do you need me and more importantly, why would I need you?" his voice was like ice. After she answered, he would ask the same of the man garbed in black.

"Justice is my master Honor is my name I am a blaze of white that devours all My blade shall destroy sin and cleanse this world in fire."
The words were hard to leave Tessa's lips and she couldnt for the life of her remember how to finish it. Why did she need him? Was it to have the chance to become guild leader? That seemed so selfish even the thought made Tessa uncomfortable and she was sure the guardian had noted on it when she had foolishly used it as a point to try to sway his decision. She needed him because....how would she know? how did he expect her to know, she had just arrived in this forest and had this intuitioin that pushed her to strive for his attention, how did he expect her to explain such an innate feeling?
" I do not know why i need you or even if you need me. Truly, i don't even know why im here i only set out to find a job and now. If you do not find me worthy, then that is at it shall be and we shall part ways and if you desire this man then again it's your choice."
Normally, Tessa hated sounding so defeatist but something had snapped and she could not continue this charade any further. If the guardian did not want her, it was his choice and if he wanted the other man so be it, she would achieve all she could with her own power.

Hannsel knelt his head down upon hearing the girls words. A bit of anger flared up within him and his body trembled because of it. Though as soon he was about to let out his rage several words came into his mind. They were commands from his master. He didn't have much longer to stay in this place. His rage died down and he got to his feet. Walking over to Tessa he literally took his finger and flicked the tip of her nose. "With an attitude like that your not going to make it anywhere. This being asked you to prove yourself and your not going to try. Maybe you don't deserve to hold onto your life anymore. You would just waste it." His attitude changed completely. Now he was more spiteful and serious rather then being a joker. He hated the living who just simply made their lives forfeit. In this case she basically did just that with her little speech. "Good thing for you I believe in second chances." Slowly he began to vanish from reality becoming translucent. He faded away leaving a cold chill in the air around the girl. A small whisper came to her ear. "If this guardian isn't yours by the next time we meet. Then I will take your life. This is a promise I will surely keep." The breeze picked up around both the guardian and the phoenix flare mage. With that Hanns was gone leaving no trace that he was ever there.

Lex stood quietly unsatisfied with Tessa's answer. Then he looked over to the man as he spoke to the woman before suddenly departing. He would have liked their swords to meet in combat but it seemed that it would not be so. His many eyes flicked to Tessa, "Woman, do you truly bear no reason to desire a contract? Or is it that we are using words for something that could only be said by the blade?" The aura around him seemed to darken with his words. In a sudden blur of movement, he disappeared from sight only to reappear only inches away with his large sword drawn and pressed to her neck. It was only after he reappeared that the water shot up in a line of movement behind him. "Tessa Lin of Phoenix Flare," he said coldly, "Show me your resolve."

"Justice is my master Honor is my name I am a blaze of white that devours all My blade shall destroy sin and cleanse this world in fire."
As Jax followed Raiden into the forest, he was enjoying the scenery at the same time. The beauty of this place never ceased to amaze him. As Jax was daydreaming, Raiden had already stopped and was waiting for him out in an open-ish field. The Half-Dragon shook his head as he watched Jax get a hold of himself and brush off a leaf. I swear sometimes he's such a moron... The dragon said before landing on the ground and gesturing Jax to come closer.
As Jax walked closer he wondered what Raiden would teach him. The first trick of black lightning was great! But he knew there were more secrets to be unlocked before he could call himself a master. Alright Raiden what're we doing today? Jax asked the dragon, bouncing on his toes to get his body awake and ready to train. The dragon then smiled and pointed his finger at a tree. Watch and learn... He said before firing a thin beam of black lightning at the tree. Nothing happened for a moment before the tree suddenly was split in half and slowly slid to a fall.
WHOAH, That was Awesome! Jax exclaimed like a little kid watching fireworks. Pointing his own finger out, Jax focused and attempted to fire a beam of his own. But of course, this backfired drastically and all it did was create a mini-explosion from point blank range. Coughing through the Smoke, Jax grunted and tried again and again with no prevail.
The dragon watched him for a moment before stopping him in his tracks. No no no....You're doing it all wrong you're imagining something of an explosion right? Raiden asked rhetorically before continuing. Try imagining a sword that extends infinitely coming from your finger. Its called the black lighting slice, the silence and stealthiness of the attack is the trick. Raiden said before demonstrating again on a boulder. The top half of the boulder then slid off its base and hit the ground with a loud thud.
Raiden then looked at Jax with a smile. Alright now give it a go... He said, letting Jax take the imaginary stage. As Jax took a step forward, he closed his eyes before pointing at a tree about 30 meters away. Focusing and imagining a sword, Jax sent a thin beam at the tree. A thud was heard and you could see the roughness and weakness of the shot. The tree was only cut about 3 inches in and it was a crude hole. Grunting, Jax got to work on perfecting the technique.
After a few hours of firing crude beam after crude beam, Jax finally got the hang of it and sent a thin slice at the tree. It wasn't a complete cut but it was something right? Grinning, Jax got back to work before finally cutting a tree in half with one slice of the technique. Raiden I did it! Ya! Jax said, running over to the chunk of wood now laying on the ground. Raiden just grinned and gave him a thumbs up before picking up a pebble. Now for a speed test... Raiden said, tossing the rock up and catching it.
Jax raised an eyebrow before catching on. Alright then, Im guessing this is a game where I try to catch that stone from you? He asked, charging up his fists and preparing a suprise attack. But Raiden wasn't stupid, he saw right through it and charged his own body with his black lightning. As Jax attempted to pounce on him, Raiden jumped back and an almost unreadable speed, re-appearing in a branch above. Tsk Tsk....To slow my friend, you see...Black lighting is a much faster lightning magic then almost any other, whether it be mastered or not. Raiden said with a sly grin.
Jax just gritted his teeth and charged his body even more. He then attempted to catch the small dragon again but failed miserably, faceplanting the branch that Raiden was standing on. Raiden just floated in the air while laughing at Jax's crude attempt to catch the stone. Oh and during the whole time, Raiden was still tossing the stone up and down.

Panting, Jax was exhausted and low on energy and mano. He was cut up and dirty from all of the failed attemptes at catching the stone from Raiden. Grunting, he charged one more suprise attack, this time using his black lightning, and pounced. But before Raiden could dissapear, Jax used his Black lightning Slice on the tree behind him. The tree fell forward and hit Raiden as he jumped back, sending the half-dragon flying forward and into Jax's hand.
Well well well, seems the tables have turned haven't they? Jax said with a sly grin, snatching the stone out of his hand and breaking it out of frustration. He felt like he won but that stone just had a lingering feeling of mockery. And Jax REALLY didn't like that, so he crushed it to tiny tiny pieces and tossed them into the dirt. Throwing as hard as he could so he would never have to see that stupid thing again.
Raiden was caught, he'd admit to that, but not in a fair way. Fine fine...Even though it was a bit unfair I'll accept it. Congratulations knuckle head. Raiden teased him, getting out of Jax's grip and sitting on his shoulder. Well, you seem exhausted so lets go grab some food back in the vivillian. Raiden said pointing his finger out to the horizon in the general area of the location of the vivillian.
Mush! Raiden said, puffing out his cheeks. Laughing, Jax just started a light jog and began to head back to the vivillian. He'd grown stronger and knew he'd have a chance against the other captains now. It didn't take complete god given skill to win anything, all it took was a smart mind and knowing your surroundings and anything is possible. Jax was in it to win it and he wasn't going to let anyone else from any other guild get in his way.

Status | Active Weapon | Stolen Sword Hitpoints | Mano Slots | 50/50 The Anima scum are at it again. And they were. As they did every day towards dusk, the shadows on the far end fo the horizon began to shift, streaking across the plain in multiple directions with evil intent. Steele had neither the speed nor the will to catch those stragglers; most likely they would find themselves in much trouble if they made it to a village or outlying area with more than one Divine present. It was the main host he was concerned with. Ther were enroaching on the protected lands, so the law granted him full rights to dispose of them
Silhouetted against the dying light, the crippled man took the route under a cover of trees. A single figure on a landscape of black was easier spotted than a flood of men, and Steele knew full well that the only advantage he had on his side was the element of surprise. Normally, he'd have counted his lack of fear for the dark in as well, but these Anima warriors were beings of darkness. Lack of light could hardly deter them from their course.
On his shoulder, the crow uttered a soft caw, and latched a clawed foot onto Steele's clothes. Face impassive, the man removed the bird from its perch and transferred it onto a gloved finger, before sending it in the direction of the approaching group. The bird flew off on silent wings, arcing off into the night and disappearing entirely from sight for a moment. Then it circled high over the mass of Anima and alighted on a branch. Just in time, too. A fork of lightning split the sky and sent a ripple of unease through the approaching host, which began to slow its place slightly. Under the hooded jacket that he wore, Steele smiled blandly, making for a tree in the vicinity. As the drizzle started, he gripped the rough bark of a tree, lifting himself up by the arms so that his crippled leg sat comfortably. He would be moving soon enough; his current position was merely to observe the advance, nothing more.
From the dark, his crow cawed in a frenzy. Steele spurred himself into action, dropping from his vantage point to his feet, landing more heavily on his uncrippled leg. He took off, as fast as his legs would allow, while wisps of grey began to curl around both hands. The smokelike substance began to drift from his fingertips and surround the outer edge of the trees in an intangible cloud-barrier. He took the route back and forth three times, until at last he was done, and the wispy substance seeped into the trees. At first, it almost seemed as if the rain that was coming down harder was washing his work away, but after a particularly heavy gust of wind, the trees could be seen burning with grey fire. By this time, he could already hear the tramp of the approaching footsteps, of these fools who thought they had no need for stealth and silence in the night. Perhaps they thought that their sheer numbers would push any smaller group or solitary opponent back. And perhaps they could.
Suddenly, the darkness loomed, still and close. They were almost on him, vis-a-vis with the faceless figure that was Steele, when he simultaneously cast Gibbet Break and Vortex. The result was an endless, seething, writhing mass of black birds, darting and pecking and darting and pecking. Though Steele felt the first sting of blades at his throat, his arms, and his legs, the assault soon stopped as the men began to chase after the crows instead. There were cries of surprise as the men began to close in on the swirling vortex, as he'd predicted. If they were expecting to find the cause of the attacks in the center of that storm, they would be sorely disappointed. Steele sent the column of birds further out into the trees, feeling the ache of exertion slowly cut into his focus as the wispy grey smoke slowly healed him. It was a losing battle between losing and gaining energy, but the exchange would keep him going for long enough.
He began to pick off stragglers, one by one, with short bursts of grey fire to render them broken, disabled, or injured. At the same time, the pointless chase continued, his enemies' vision clouded by the unstoppable wave of crows and the pelting rain. Though he was fairly confident that he wouldn't be located amongst the darkest branches, Steele kept an eye and an ear open for stealthy movement. And not a moment too soon. The man felt the warm trickle of blood and a cool rush of rain before the agony that was his shoulder being sawn from his torso. Without so much as pausing to think, Steele put a hand behind his back, sending a short pulse of grey energy into the space behind him. He was glad to hear the thump of two bodies simultaneously hitting the ground, before the night suddenly came alive with noise around him. With deft movements, he twisted around and grabbed the weapon that had impaled him and a small rock. This he tossed at a point some seven metres away from him, where it struck a tree and bounced off. There was a stampede as his opponents followed the noise, but by the time they had arrived, the crows were already there. And so the slaughter ensued.
Ten minutes and many more deaths later, the black cloud of crows ceased to stay in formation, instead dispersing into thin air, as did the grey smoke. Too tired to move, Steele sent a concentrated orb of grey at the nearest defeated enemy, who lay groaning on the ground. What little of his life force ebbed away as the grey energy created a physical link between the two. At length, the man on the floor grabbed his right leg, gasping, and died. Steele glanced around briefly, allowed a crow to settle on his shoulder, and then limped his way back into town. The lights were low, but still welcomingly bright, and an old woman smiled upon seeing him arrive.
"Mr. Steele, it's good to see you back. How many did you catch tonight?" Steele followed her into the inn, his gait a little slower and more awkward than hers. In response to her question, he cast a look over his shoulder, waiting, watching. A sudden flash of lightning illuminated the deathly scene outside; figures sprawled all over the length of the forest and the fields beyond, some running away, most never to walk this earth again. A fierce smile came over the old woman's face, before it faded upon noticing his injuries. She bade the man to stop where he was standing, before fetching a medical kit and dabbing at the wounds gingerly. The larger cuts she wrapped in clean bandages, but the large, zigzagging mark that was still welling blood like a fountain she cleaned and cleaned again with wine, packed with a mixture of herbs, and bound his entire shoulder and chest. With eyes as dark as her expression, the woman searched Steele's emotionless, masked face. "You will be staying inside for a bit, to let that shoulder heal."
The man shook his head. When he spoke, his voice was a bass growl, but still easily understood. "I'll be leaving at first light. Tell your boys." His words were clipped, but not unkind, and he gave her a searching glance before making his way into his room for preparations. After all, it had been a long time, and he was finally returning, if only for a day.
Decrepify
Crush | Rank B Steele casts one devastating burst-type spell that damages everything within a 1-metre radius of the area hit.
Slow Mutilation | Rank A Steele casts a fistful of burst-type spells in quick succession, deeply wounding the opponent in the direct areas that are hit. The areas that were hit will heal over time, but as the wounds disappear, the slowing effects of the spell will set in.
Decrepify | Rank C Steele casts a sustain-type spell that latches onto the opponent and damages over time, healing Steele. Anyone who walks into the invisible link between Steele and the victim will take damage. An interesting feature of this link is that the victim will begin to feel pain, and eventually, something to the effect of their right leg been broken. This effect will last from a few hours to a few days, determined by the length of the attack. Though the victim experiences no physical damage after the link is broken, they will be weakened and slowed, and will often have a limp for a time after the attack.
Gibbet Break
Blind Chase | Rank A Steele summons a crow to chase his opponent and constantly attack and harrass them. Opponents attacked by the crows are more prone to other "Gibbet Break" attacks as they have been marked. This is a "summon" type spell.
Gibbet Break | Rank B Steele summons a murder of crows to rush his opponent, obscuring said opponent's vision. The crows will attack simultaneously and from all directions if left unchecked. As this is just a "summon" type spell and not a "sustain" type spell, it does not require as much stamina.
Vortex | Rank A Steele summons a murder of crows to fly around him in a vortex, drawing opponents in. The vortex extends to a ten-metre radius and crows can break off from the main group to attack fleeing opponents. This is a "sustain" type spell.
The blade pressed hard against her throat, its wielder looming over her in a menacing silhouette. Tessa had no hope to attack him yet so the best she could do was to push off the bladed edge and land a few metres from where she had just stood. Lex's intent was not to kill Tessa, otherwise he would have already done so. He was simply testing her and how she did not block that blow disappointed him. He watched as she jumped away and began preparing herself. He turned to her then fell into a traditional defensive stance that heavily resembled a samurai with his blade pointing towards her. With a single breath, he brought his sword back into an offensive stance. He pushed off the ground shooting forward at a speed purposely slower than before yet still very fast. He brought his sword around in a fluid motion that could easily cleave her in two if she didn't move out of the way.

The movement was succint and swift, his blade almost unseen as he surged towards her. She coould not profess to have as much speed as he had just shown and as the blade nipped the side of her cheek tessa had been glad to have prepared beforehand. Tessa felt the chill rise to sting her newly attained wound; small yet painful. She had to get him now when he hadnt completed his attack. In an acrobatic display of swirling limbs and flame colored tufts of hair gleaming in the sunlight, she tumbled just out of his reach ending up behind him; a perfect place to start a counter attack.

She swirled her hand in a whip like action sprouting a flexible elongation of water that arched to impact hard upon the creature's back; at such a close range not even he could hope to escape unscathed.

Lex watched as his blade cut through the fleshy part of her cheek and again she did not block nor counter. She simply slipped away once more. His head turned a bit in her direction as she moved behind him. The two red eyes on the back of his shoulders could see her perfectly, he had no blind spots. His body lowered as his leg spun around in a wheel kick to break around the counter. As his leg neared the water, he forced it to boil and his kick turned it to steam instantaneously. His clawed foot quickly planted on the ground then he pushed off the ground to shoot forward once again. His body was starting to glow slightly in a white aura. As he neared, he brought the massive sword over his head then down upon her. Even though his face remained unseen, his intent to cause harm was apparent. "Submit," he ordered as his blade swung down to chop her down between the eyes.
