they were just showing their new dashboard. The rest will come at E3, E 3 is a gaming conference so they will now have time to spend all their time on the games and not on the new features in the Dashboard. I know people are going nut but do you guys not realize what kind of a leap forward the stuff that they showed is.

To be fair, E3 is for pretty much anything, including consoles. So honestly, if they weren't 100% sure that they were going to impress the audience then they should have just waited the few weeks until E3 so that they can show off ALL of their advancements. It was really bad thinking of them to reveal so soon before E3, especially when they really didn't have much to show for it. If you're going to hold a conference, you bring your A-Game first and foremost. Since the stock market isn't going to take "oh just wait a few weeks to see the rest of our goodies!" as an answer. Which is why PS4 stocks sky-rocked that same day. I'll admit that the Kinect and some of the Xbox One's technology is pretty impressive, that's true.. though to be frank, I'm curious about how many people are actually going to take advantage of any of that. Is someone really going to take a Skype call while watching a movie? Is voice-commanded channel surfing really above flipped with a remote? How about the siblings who are going to sit their and argue "Xbox Game!" "Xbox Tv!"? I just.... I don't know that many people at all that actually care about maneuvering around their Xbox with Kinect.

On a side note, the Xbox One's specs are pretty much on par with the PS4's. So there really wasn't... THAT much of an advancement, at least one that we haven't already seen.

anyone see sony's stab at Xbox? it was floating around facebook a few days ago...can't find the actual pick...but I liked it.

It was about how the playstaion 4 will also use the T.V. to play games...indirectly pointed at Xbox ones release....

at least, I think it was real, everything on facebook is real right?

Honestly it's fine if you don't like the Playstation! ^^; In the end everyone has their own preference. I'm just saying that channel surfing hasn't gotten that much better with Kinect. You input the channel that you want to view with your voice; you input the channel you want to view with a remote. It just seems a little.. unnecessary to me personally. It's a different way of surfing but it's not easier. You're still having to flip through numerous channels trying to find something to watch. Unless you look through "trendy" which, lets be honest, doesn't guarantee "quality shows" in the slightest.

Plus... y'know... unless you're American you can't use it's TV service anyway.

Channel flipping isn't quite the same thing... unless you're saying that you have multiple remotes that control what channel you watch and when you want to watch one show another person grabs the other remote and changes it to what they want to watch.

At any rate http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/22/xbox-one-backwards-compatibility_n_3320082.html

Also... why does it need to have so much going on... used to be gaming machines were for gaming... seems like the xbox one is more of a smart tv box. And what if you have a smart internet tv already which has many of the xbox one tv features? Will they conflict and fight for superiority?

like I said, they where basically just introducing the Dashboard, and for me I have 3 remotes, I need that feature, It gets frustrating especially when my daughter hides them. It will have a lot of gaming, it was just a teaser, is all. I liked the features..

lol Hope their E3 will have a lot of games posted then because the current lineup is rather thin.

I liked how their live stream advertised Star Trek.... seeing as the talking commands are rather Star Trek like, replacing "Computer" with 'Xbox'. I think if I knew someone had one... I wouldn't be able to resist going in and saying, "Xbox, turn off" whilst they were in the middle of a game. I suppose lucky for them it'll supposedly save wherever they were...
