(A wip post, please in,gnore till complete!) T'rel seemed to consider Mei's question for a long moment. He seemed embarrassed as he folded his hands behind his back. "Being woken up in the morning," he said. "I don't mind mornings, when its my own volition. But, for example, say Lute decided to wake me before dawn. I might eventually forgive her, but it will be a while before my foul mood leaves me." He paused, thinking on how to answer the girl's second question.
"Tubers," he said wrinkling his nose. "Cesa insists she'll find a way for me to eat them without gagging, but--" he made a face. Tubers may have been a staple in the Pernese diet, but T'rel had had a long standing hate for them. "The texture, the taste," he shuddered at the thought. "How about you, Mei? I'll ask you two questions. What's your worst fear? What's your favorite song?"

Mei was able to keep a mostly straight face as T'rel answered her questions, though her lips gave the slightest bit of a curl when he mentioned his distaste for tubers. Instead of commenting, she merely nodded as she quickly jotted down his answers.. admittedly in a slightly more truncated form than how T'rel had said it. People had a habit of saying a lot of extra things perhaps important in adding nuance to conversation, but one didn't have to add nuance to write enough to recall the conversation later. "Mmhmm, alright then." She sat up a little straighter when he asked his two questions.
"Well, my favorite song is Gather Day, easily. The other question.. Hmm." She hadn't expected to be asked questions that were so potentially philosophical and personal. "I guess… failing my family is my worst fear."
She gave a little self conscious shrug, one hand reaching out for reassurance from Tesrinth.

Ashlyn
Ashlyn stood there, watching some of the others starting to talk. She held her paper and writing tool. She felt her dragon's watchful eyes on her and she managed to look down to him.
Ashlyn mine, isn't your assignment to talk with your fellow riders? You cannot do that from here, can you?Gyafrith asked her gently.
"Well, um...no, I suppose not..I just...I do not know who to talk to. And you know me...I'm..."Ashlyn began.
I know you are shy, but you did beautifully when my brother was injured. You just have to trust yourself, the blue dragon assured. She reached up and nosed her hand, filling her with some comfort.

Whilst the other Weyrlings learned more about each other, a gangly mess of dragon and boy began to shift. Fitcher, or actually F'cher now, lifted his head just enough to notice there was a rather sizable hatchling lying on him. With it's tail tangled with his left leg and his sleeping furs wrapped in its front legs. The young lad grunted as he tried to move the sleeping lump, only to have it turn its head and breath right in his face. "Ugh, Taivalth, sharding sake, get tha' outta my face." The youth pushed the muzzle away and tried to wriggle out from under the slowly waking mass. Taivalth rumbled and rolled to the side, not really taking into account that he was on a bed and didn't have much room to move. The bronze dragon then promptly slipped off the side and dragged his bonded off with him into a grumpy, but very much awake, heap.
It was nearly a quarter of a candlemark later that the pair trudged their way to their lesson. Taivalth had only seen fit to mention Zelith's calling when F'cher had begun to wonder where everyone else was. The dragon himself was more interested in getting something to eat now, deciding that sleeping was more important than the lesson when the summons had come, but F'cher had a feeling that wasn't what would be awaiting them. No doubt it would be some long winded talk about how to care for Taivalth and what he should and shouldn't do to keep him happy and healthy. Mine, this seems very unnecessary. You know how to look after me and if you do something wrong I shall tell you. He didn't really look forward to that.
Reaching the group F'cher ran his hand through his hair, what in the name of Pern were they doing? It was just a load of talking and scribbling. He didn't see how this would help him care for Taivalth at all. Maybe the dragon had the right idea and the pair of them would just have to figure it out on their own. Crossing his arms the young lad looked at the group and wondered if he could get away without being seen. Taivalth meanwhile was doing his best to stand there and look handsome, which really wasn't a lot of effort for him now was it?

T'rel wasn't sure how to react to Mei's words, and so placed a hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. He didn't want to know how one could come to fear their family--of course, he hadn't grown up with one. "Why don't you go talk to Ame over there?" he suggested, pointing to the goldweyrling. After doing so, he went over to Ashlyn. He'd noticed the girl's hesitance to talk to the other weyrlings, though the lesson's instructions had been clear.
"Quiet type?" he inquired as he reached her. He gave her a warm smile, holding his hand out for her to take. He had been raised up as a harper, and as such had been trained in communication. "It's a lot to adjust to," he said. "I remember my first day with Zellie," he gestured to his bronze. "It was both the most exciting day of my life, but also the most worrisome. The weyrlingmaster then tore into us. He was one of those types who liked to get the lecture over with the first day, so no one would dare cause trouble." He grinned, shaking his head. "It was a rather ineffective tactic. Alright, go ahead. Ask me any two questions."
It was then that he noticed F'cher. Poor F'cher. The weyrling was about to learn that he couldn't escape being seen. "Ah," he said, turning to face the boy. "I'm sorry, Ashlynn, you'll have to excuse me for a moment." His expression was in a firm, straight line. "You're late, F'cher," he said. "Do you have a note from weyrstaff?" He didn't wait for an answer. "No?" T'rel crossed his arms. "Come join your fellow weyrlings, then. We're taking a moment to get to know each other."

Ashlyn
Ashlyn noticed the weyrlingmaster head in her direction and she gulped, before feeling Gyafrith bump her hand with his snout again.
Ashlyn mine, just think of this as how you talk with your best friend. I know he is in a position of power, but that doesn't mean he isn't like everyone else,Gyafrith told her gently. Ashlyn gave a nod to her dragon, guessing he was probably right.
"Yes sir, I am pretty quiet around others. It is a lot for me to take in, I guess. That and the fact I feared I might not bond at all because it took so long,"Ashlyn answered. She thought of what questions she wanted to ask, then heard him excuse himself. She watched as he went to talk to one of the ones who arrived late and winced, wondering what he would do. What would he do to punish the boy and his dragon for being late?
I know you are shy, but you did beautifully when my brother was injured. You just have to trust yourself, the blue dragon assured. She reached up and nosed her hand, filling her with some comfort.
