I was thinking about something that happened years ago today, and I know the rest of you have stories too.... so post 'em here!
Mine takes place in high school. I've always been a solitary, but I had a group of four friends who had formed a little "Wiccan" Circle and celebrated sabbats together. After maybe six months, they had a falling out, and three of these people were very angry with one, and wouldn't say why.
Now I was largely living in a world of my own at this point, and disliked teh dramaz to the extent that I just didn't want to get involved, so all I was aware of was that this girl had done something to really upset the other three.
The wheel was turning, and a few months later I said in passing to the one girl "oh, happy Beltaine!" and she gave me a smile and said "I'm Jewish".
Now I knew she was Jewish, ethnically, but as far as I was aware she was a Pagan. I was shocked and confused. It took me a while to work out the reason my other three friends were so upset is that, while those three had been very serious and dedicated, this one girl had just been playing. She'd been Jewish the whole time and just wanted to play-act. And they never knew until she decided she didn't want to play any more.
It must have been a pretty unpleasant experience to find out someone you'd been holding your sacred rituals with was just in it for the lulz.

That's a bit messed up. I'd be pissed too, it's basically like she was mocking all of you. At least that's how I would have taken it. I haven't known any pagans IRL emo

Hmm...this is not quite pagan but I may as well share this (you can delete it if you wish). Back a few years ago I spent some time living in the desert with a family of Aborigines. One of our group leaders mentioned that there was going to be no water at the next camping area so we had to stock up. When we got there, there was nothing but an old windmill. One of the elders put a bucket underneath the tap to catch any water. Our group leader looked at him as if he was mad. "The bore's dry," he said. The elder looked at him and said "Just you wait and see." About a minute later there was a huge gust of wind that started to turn the windmill's arms and water exploded out of the tap.
Our group leader was very surprised to say the least.

While we were up there we had a few others experiences similar to this one. The entire trip was very grounding and I gained a huge amount of respect for the Aboriginal elders. I try to acknowledge the traditional owners every time I cast a circle.
