Tip's face lit up happily when Allayna said she recognized the disease. Good! Very good! He was glad to hear that he had come to the right place! But wait, 'planties'? "Are plants causing this?" He asked. If so, he felt bad for not realizing it and not removing the plants! Which plant was the culprit? This news certainly explained a lot!
The girl seemed to calm down, and almost assumed a different personality. Some people were like that when they took their jobs seriously. He watched as she got some herbs out of a pot, and then obtained water. She glanced at him, and asked about the herd. "Oh, I'm not sure on the exact size of the herd. It's not mine, it belongs to the forest and I just look after them and help them to migrate around. Deer are constantly joining and leaving. But um, it was around thirty at last count? There are eleven sick, to varying degrees. Two of them are recovering already. Five of the sick are fawns and I fear they're too young to recover on their own. Ah, and one is an elderly doe. She is the sickest." He frowned, hoping the old deer would still be alive when he got back. He knew that it would probably be her time to go soon anyway, but did it have to be like this? No, he would make sure she died peacefully of old age! Or at least was taken by a predator. But curable illness, that was unacceptable!
His frown was quickly replaced by another smile as he looked up at Allayna, seeing that she was going to come with him. This was not ideal, for the presence of an unknown being might stress the deer, but if it was the only way then it was the only way. "Are you all ready?" He asked.

Allayna "Unless my memory is suddenly bad, planties are indeed causing your deer to get sick." Allayna spoke up, her eyes falling onto Tip as she lightly shook her head with a frown. She didn't like seeing animals being sick, well, she didn't like any sort of illness period. It was never a fun case and it often made people grumpy. Making sure she had everything she would need to not only treat the herd but to remove the plant, she looked over to Tip with a kind smile. "I got everything ready! I'll treat your herd for ya and then I'll remove the bad planties!" She told him, being unsure of the payment for this. House visits were uncommon and if she was thinking correctly, Mags always charged extra though she looked to the back of the shop in hopes of finding out if the woman was ready to go yet. "Mags! Allayna is going out on a house visit to take care of Mister Tip's herd!" She called, making sure the woman knew. After all, it was better if her friend knew that she was out and about instead of in the shop so that she wouldn't be worrying as to where the elf had gone.
From what Tip had said, it was a decent sized herd, of about thirty and she would be treating the ones that were sick as well as checking over the others for signs of the illness. It wasn't a fun thing to have and the elf frowned thoughtfully, dumping more of the powder medicine into a bag before looking to him. "Lead the way so Allayna can help your deer!" She piped up, holding her bags carefully as she walked to the door to switch the sign to CLOSED. It was the best way of letting customers know that Mags was too busy to really do anything at the moment.
(( OOC: Maybe have Tip show her around the woods? I don't want this role-play to die. I'm so sorry for the late post. D: Was trying to wait plus been busy with life. ))

"Oh my! I had no idea!" Tip felt awful for being unable to have identified the plants as the cause. He was very good with plants. He knew just about every plant in the forest, just as he knew all of the animals. This must be a new, invasive species that he had not come across yet. Where had the deer found it? Hopefully Allayna could give him some insight into this. The girl was ready to go, and had the treatment. She said she would treat the herd and remove the plants. "Good news! Good news indeed! I'm glad I found this place in time!"
They were walking out the door, and Allayna called back to the elusive 'Mags' person to inform them that they were leaving. Tip wondered if Mags was always so quiet. Perhaps they were really busy with something. Anyhow, they left the shop and Allayna turned the sign to 'closed'. Tip hoped no one else would require the services in the meantime, or he would feel bad to have denied them such. Allayna said to lead the way. "Of course! Right this way!" 'Right this way' would actually be quite a ways. Tip skipped on down the street, trusting that Allayna would easily be able to keep up with him even if he were to sprint. His short legs would not allow him to go very fast at all. He kept looking back over his shoulder to make sure that Allayna was still there, and that she was not tired.
They got to the forest not long afterwards. Tip had to take a roundabout path. He had come almost straight through the forest on the way to the town, but his diminutive height enabled him to duck through thick parts of the forest that would stop most anyone else. He did not want Allayna to get tangled up in the nastiness, and so he took her on a detour path that went through pleasant, more open parts of the forest. It still required them to scale a large hill, which was made up of series of rocky ridges and straight-drop cliffs. At the top, the hill opened up and became more flat. Lean-tos had been set up, covered in leaves. Many brown bodies could be seen lying beneath the lean-tos. The deer's sides heaved as they struggled to draw breath. Tip ran over to them and knelt down, stroking two of the nearest deer. "Shhh shhh, it's okay my little ones, help has arrived! Please let Miss Allayna treat you. She won't harm you, trust me. Now behave, and I'll bring you lots of tasty treats when you recover." He spoke to them. He stood and went down the line of lean-tos, checking up on all of the deer and speaking soothingly to them.

Allayna "No worries! It's an easy fix! And you'll know now." Allayna piped up, trying to assure the male that everything would be fine with his herd. It wasn't hard to see that Tip was excited that his herd would be taken care of, and she was glad that she was able to help. The plant that was causing the illness was rare, only sprouted so often and this must be the year so she'd have to let Mags know that they would need to get more of the medicine to cure it. After all, Tip's herd of deer wouldn't be the only ones to find the plants and mistake them for a good meal. "Allayna will show you the plants so that you know what to do when and if they come back! But if Tip still needs help again, Allayna and Mags will help!" She exclaimed, smiling over at him with her excitement. Part of Allayna was sad that Mags wasn't coming along, this would be her chance to show that she wasn't just a silly hyperactive elf. No, she could be smart and extremely helpful when she wanted to be.
But as it was, Mags was tired and needed her nap and so she would have to wait to show her again. After all, there would be other chances to do so. Plus, Tip's herd of deer really needed the help so there was no time to wait around until the woman woke up. When Tip started to lead the way, she did her best to keep up, noticing how he was a bit slower than she was and she was making herself busy with following after him. It was easy to keep up, so long as she didn't get so distracted which she was finding to be a hard task to do. While she desperately needed to go tend to the herd, she wanted to go investigate all of the interesting plants. After all, she mainly came into the forest when she needed to restock the supply of medicinal herbs for the shop. Maybe if Mags didn't need her help in the shop, she'd hang around Tip and his herd some, she couldn't resist the urge to play with all of the deer.
Getting to the herd was a bit of a hike and as it was wearing her down, the sight of the herd of deer only excited her again. "Awh! They're so cute! Poor babies! Allayna will help!" She exclaimed, forgetting for the moment that they were sick and in need of medical attention. Not only was there that but there was also the worry of frightening the deer with her excitement. Calming down as she saw them struggling to breathe, she walked over to the first two, immediately focusing on healing them. Mixing up a tiny bit of the medicinal paste, she rubbed it onto the sides of the deer where the fungus had taken over, hoping that it was enough. Immediately the paste began to change color and she looked to Tip thoughtfully, deciding that if both of them worked on tending to the deer, it would be a quicker process. "Tip! Tip! Want to help me tend to your deer? It'll go faster and it's easy! All you need is a bowl and something to stir and apply the paste! I'll show you how!" She exclaimed, smiling widely to the male. Of course, her being so loud had startled a few and she frowned, patting the two that she had just healed. They were starting to do better, and the fungus was being eliminated as she sat with them, the paste was doing it's job.

The excitable girl spoke out rather loudly, causing a couple of the deer to startle and try to get up. Tip went to them, speaking soothingly. "Shhh shhh my darlings, it's going to be all right. Just relax and let Miss Allayna help you." He petted them on the necks and backs, slowly settling them back down. They laid down, one of the deer heaving a deep sigh. Tip turned toward Allayna now. "If you could keep your voice down just a tad, it would be much appreciated," he said with a smile.
He watched the girl go to work. She mixed up some of the paste and applied it to the infected areas of the deer. The deer tensed up and seemed unsure, but soon relaxed as relief washed over them. Tip saw the paste change color. It must be working then, right? He wondered what the paste was made from. Then Allayna suggested that he help so the work would be done faster. "Of course!" he said. He would need a bowl. He did not have one handy. There were bowls and things of that nature back at his village, but his village was far enough away that Allayna would be finished with her task before he returned, so there was no point to that. Perhaps he could find or make one. "I'll go find one!" he told her, and he ran off into the forest.
He searched around the immediate area. He had an idea of how to acquire a bowl, and was looking for the right object. He looked in the shadows of trees and kicked aside leaf litter. He found many types of fungus doing this, but not the kind he had in mind. Then he came across a hole in the ground, an animal den of some sort. The entrance was plugged up with fallen leaves and there were no signs of habitation. He scooped the leaves out of the entrance. "Hullo? Anyone in there?" he called into the hole just to be sure. He heard no response, and so he crawled inside. The tunnel went at a downward slope for a few feet before opening up into a small room. A hole in the roof brought a beam of light into the den. In one corner of the room loomed the shapes of large mushrooms. "Aha! There you are!" Tip exclaimed. He crawled over to the mushrooms. The stalks were a couple of feet tall, topped by a large cap as hard as wood. He felt the caps to find the most suitable one, and then used his knife to cut it away from the stalk.
He crawled back out of the hole now. He sat up and used his knife to clean out the insides of the cap, until he was left with just the hard outer shell. Finding a stick to stir with was much easier, and he located one in no time. He brought these items back to where Allayna was treating the deer. "I'm back, with a bowl and a stirring stick."

Allayna Being loud was just about one of the things that Allayna was very good at, most could even say she was a professional. It was taking a lot to quiet down after she realized that she was startling the deer, and she had to even be reminded by Tip. Giving a frown and twitching her ears, she gave him the most innocent look that she could, hoping that he wouldn't be angry at her for the simple mistake. In all of her excitement, she hadn't thought it was time to be quiet and softspoken, no, she was happy to see all the cute deer! The way he was smiling it was apparent that he wasn't too angry with her and even the deer seemed to calm down. As she realized that they weren't socialized much, she toned it down, being careful not to spook them. "Shy little things.. They should be fine, me thinks. If Allayna is right, this will heal them up right quick and they won't need no more medicine! They'll be all better just like that!" She exclaimed in a hushed whisper. Still she was waiting to see if he wanted to help, as in the future this was going to be a very helpful thing to know how to do.
When he confirmed that he would help, she nodded and turned her attention to the deer she was working on, figuring he was probably watching her. When she turned to talk to him, to see if he wanted to try, he was gone. Nowhere to be found. This earned a raised brow as she looked around, unsure of what to think. Had he gone back to town to get some of the stuff? She certainly hoped not and after a few rounds of scouting the area, she finally spotted him heading into an open hole. 'I wonder what's down there.. Does he have supplies? Is he stealing from an animal? Is that where he puts the dead ones? Is that where the bad planties are?' It was a good question as to just what he was doing. But finally after a few moments of him being gone, he was back. She had been too busy trying to figure out what he was up to while he was gone, focusing on him instead of the deer that desperately needed her care.
"Oh! You got stuff to help Allayna and the deer with?! Great! Allayna will teach you how to make medicine paste!" She piped up, grabbing the powder as well as the water. "First you want to pour a tiny bit of the powder into the bowl. Enough to cover the deer's ouchie! And then you get close to the deer and pour in water. Mix it up and apply by hand! It'll make the deer feel better and to show it's working it changes color. The powder likes the nasty stuff." She explained, being as thorough about it as she possibly could. Looking around, she'd treated most of the deer in her proximite area and had left the most timid out of the group for last. "Try on that one! I'll make sure you do it right and if you have it right, I'll give you some paste or we can walk around together to treat the deer together!" The elf told the male, smiling brightly. All of her sadness from earlier about having been too loud was gone, out of her mind.

Tip watched as Allayna grabbed the powder and some water. He came closer and sat on his knees, listening carefully as she gave instructions. So put a tiny amount of powder in the bowl, enough to cover the deer's rash, and then add water once close to the deer. Tip figured that the substance must react quickly, which would be why one needed to be close to the patient before completing it. He nodded. Then mix it up and apply it by hand. It would change color to indicate that it was working, and whatever was in the powder would bind with the toxins or whatever was causing the reaction. Now she invited him to try it, and pointed to one of the deer. It was one of the more timid fawns, whose eyes were rolling in fear as she tried to get up and flee, only to fall down again and again. Tip went to the fawn. "Calm down, sweet girl, everything will be just fine," he soothed, slowly approaching the deer with his hand held out. The fawn recognized his scent but was still fearful, quivering as she tried to get up. He put his hand on her neck and began to stroke her, continuing to whisper to her. She laid back down and stopped trying to get up. Now Tip retrieved the makeshift bowl and stirring stick that he had obtained. He eyed the rash, and poured in the amount of powder that he thought would be necessary. He set the bowl next to the deer and added water, stirring up the paste. Then he grabbed a handful of the paste and rubbed it over the fawn's underbelly. The paste changed color. The fawn seemed to panic at first, trying to kick around, but then she felt relief from the medicine and stopped squirming. Her eyes fluttered shut as she got sleepy now. "Did I do it right?" asked Tip, keeping his voice down, and he looked back at Allayna. "What is this powder stuff, anyway?" (OOC: I LOL'd at Allayna's imaginings of what was in the hole XD)

Allayna Even with all of her rambling, it seemed it was easy for Tip to understand and keep up and she smiled at how attentive he was. If only Mags was here, she'd be so proud of Allayna, because for once the little elf was behaving and was working rather well. Hell, she could maybe have another helper if she was here, too! Tip was a really good listener, he'd be way better at gathering herbs though Allayna blinked at her thoughts. If she shared her job with Tip, Mags would slowly but surely try to get rid of her! Oh no! That couldn't happen, she loved to help Mags! Watching Tip tend to the fawn that wouldn't even let her close, part of her felt jealous, not only because he was better at handling the deer but because he had already caught on. It was good that Mags wasn't able to come along, the elf would surely be losing her job as the woman's top helper at the shop.
When he finally got the deer treated, Allayna came closer, hoping that it wouldn't worry the deer and luckily, she was able to rest peacefully now. It seemed he'd done everything right and she checked over his work, fixing one spot that he missed and smiling down at the deer, reaching out to gently pet her, making sure she was fine. Her breathing was in check and she was getting stronger already, it wouldn't be long before she had all of her energy back. At his sudden question, she looked over and gave a shrug. "Stuff from the bad planties. When I remove the bad planties, I'll show you!" She explained, giving a grin though she was still worried about Mags meeting Tip and favoring him over herself. No, she couldn't let Mags meet him, no way. "Want to help me with those sickly ones over there?" She questioned, gesturing to another part of the herd that was just starting to break out with the rash. They had treated the worst part of the herd first, it seemed which was a wonderful thing.
There were a few that they could treat, maybe two or three each? Though if Tip didn't catch on quickly, Allayna would have most of it done and she realized she still had to teach him how to mix up the medicine so that it would become the healing paste that he would need to treat the deer with. And after they were done treating the deer, then would come the task of finding and safely removing the bad plants, as well as showing Tip where and how she got the medicine though she didn't necessarily have the supplies on her to make it.

The deer had calmed down considerably with Tip's presence, and even allowed Allayna to touch her now with only minimal twitching at the unfamiliar hand. Allayna said that the medicine was actually made from the bad plants. How intriguing! So just like an antivenom from a snake or spider. Before he could ask about that, Allayna asked if he wanted help with the other deer that had not yet been attended to. Tip nodded. "Please do! I'm sure I'm nowhere near as capable as you are, and we'll get it done faster together!" Indeed, Allayna would probably finish most of them while he did only two. Plus he would need her to double-check his work. He went to work with the deer that he had tasked himself with. From his pockets he pulled out little treats, made of apples and oat and honey, and he would slip the deer the treats as a reward and a distraction while he applied the medication to their afflicted undersides. Once this was finished, he went around and double-checked on all of the deer to make sure they were still doing well. A couple of the younger ones were trying to get to their feet and wander off. After some consideration, he decided it would be best to keep them around. He found some vines and wrapped them around the deers' heads in a makeshift halter, fastening them to trees. "So sorry my dears, but I need to keep an eye on you for just a little longer to make sure you heal up right!" he told them, rewarding them additional treats. There were some bowls laying around with a bit of water, and some stacks of food for the deer. These supplies were getting low, and had lasted as long as they had only because the deers' appetites had not been what they should be. He would have to take care of gathering more resources later. Now he turned toward Allayna. "What next? Are there more steps, or are we ready to find the bad plants now?" he asked eagerly.

Allayna Normally the elf knew to behave around shy animals such as deer but here, so many of them were young ones, her absolute favorite. And worst of all, they had her interest, they were scared of her and Allayna couldn't possibly fathom why. Watching over Tip as he administered the treatment to his first deer, she smiled, reaching out to pet the doe as she seemed to calm down immediately. And much to Allayna's surprise and delight, the doe hadn't freaked out too much, a little bit of flinching but that was normal. And to the elf, it was a much better reaction than the deer trying to run, it was at least enough for the deer to realize that she was safe and that the elf would not be the one to harm her. Tip spoke up, accepting her offer for him to help and she smiled, glad that he was willing to help. It was obvious that he was going to be slow and that she would probably do most of the work and the treatments but that didn't bother her, after all, he was new to this and he was at least willing to give it a try. "That, we will! I'm sure you'll do great, the deer know you so that makes it so much easier. And I'll check your work once I'm done with mine." She piped up cheerily, smiling widely to Tip. He was prepared and so she walked away from him to another portion of the herd, keeping in mind to move slowly and stay quiet.
After all, she didn't want to startle them as that wasn't something that was exactly healthy, especially in said condition. And so she did her best to tip toe over to the other part of the herd, pausing as a deer would turn to look at her, staring back at it with a blank look before it would look away and she'd proceed to return to her attempts of being quiet. Heavy breathing, and walking on her tip toes, trying to avoid every leaf on the ground. If this was't a serious situation, this would most certainly make out to be a fun game. But finally she reached the deer and to let it know that she was there, she gently reached out, stroking it's side and speaking in a soothing voice. "Hello there, you're a pretty baby, you know that? Allayna heard you're not feeling well so she's going to patch you up and give you back your feel goods, okay?" She cooed, stroking the deer's neck before setting to work, rubbing the paste on it's belly and watching it change color. It was apparent that maybe within a day or so Tip would need to check over the herd again to make sure that the infection didn't come back for a round two, but so far everything was going well. Out of the corner of her eye, Allayna could see Tip wandering around to take care of the other parts of the herd. He was doing well for being a starter, and she was glad that he was able to follow directions as it made her part of the job so much easier.
Finishing up on the deer of her area, Allayna walked over to where Tip was, surprised to see some of the deer tethered to the trees surrounding the area. That must mean that they were starting to act normal again, wanting to roam and this was a wonderful sign though she knew it wasn't safe yet, they would need a full day's rest to make sure the medicine fully ran it's course. "I would make sure the others are secured that way they don't run off. They need to rest and once they are safe and won't try to run away, we can look for the bad planties and remove them! Tip will need to check the deer again tomorrow and if needed, apply more medicine!" She piped up, smiling to the male before turning to investigate his handiwork. Everything looked nice, it seemed that he had thoroughly covered the infected areas and the paste that was used as medicine was doing it's job. So most likely, they would fully recover through the night, and he wouldn't need to apply a second dose of the medicine. "When we go to find the bad plantie, Tip needs to show Allayna where the herd eats and drinks!" She spoke, her eyes on the male before she started to walk over to stop a curious fawn from wandering off. Grabbing the creature, she gently pulled it against her, holding it still before she looked to Tip. Now would be a wonderful time to tether the animals or find a way to make a pen.

(OOC: I'm afraid I have no ideas on how to keep this going. Right now it's pointless with just the two of us, and to be honest, it feels like a chore thinking of what to post.
Actually, I think I'm going to leave the guild. It looked promising, but there aren't any other roleplays here that I'm interested in right now and I don't have the time to make one myself. Sorry.
