Footsteps. They moved toward her slowly heavy with trepidation. Who was there? What were they doing? Her breathing was light, almost faint and her body felt a little heavy. What was going on again? Someone put a hand on her shoulder...
Crimson eyes snapped open and a white hand wrapped itself around his wrist. It was a sudden gravity switch as she tugged on his arm briefly to hop to her feet and then pushed him back leaping after him as she switched her grip on his left arm to that of her left hand. Now free her other hand reached for his right wrist clamping down in a vice grip. She drew her legs up and a second later they hit the earth Rai being used as the cushion for their abrupt landing. Her legs straddled his stomach and she kept his wrists firmly pinned to the ground. No time to waste, already she could feel a separate consciousness rising up within her and trying to overtake her own. Without a moment longer to give him time to think she leaned over and kissed him.
It was savage, rough, and purposeful. She stared at him her eyes showing nothing but amusement. Then the white lids fell shut, the grip on his wrists eased and the kiss became softer, sweeter. Behind closed lids blue flooded back into the irises and the eyes slowly opened again, half-lidded and dazed. It was going to take a moment for poor Akane to register what was going on.
I'll drain every drop of blood from your body~.

Tricked again. Being smaller, Chi was much faster than Rai could ever hope to be. Within seconds, he was the one on the ground, pinned down with an incredible strength that seemed impossible for such a petite girl. There was an attempt to struggle against his confines, of course, but the grip on Rai's wrists was one that would not be broken so easily. Ears flicking in annoyance, his crimson gaze met her own in a glare, sick of how he was being used as a simple plaything to her. It was bad enough that he had to fight her, but to not be taken seriously at all was insulting and frustrating. The monster straddling him; was it even possible to reach her level? Until the day that he could beat Chi back into submission with ease, Rai would never be strong enough to protect his precious Akane the way he wanted. Useless.
Feeling her lips crush against his, Rai's eyes opened wide; surprised pools of a ruby hue. His stomach dipped, his chest tightened. Anger. Delight. The strangest sound, something in between a growl and a purr rumbled from his throat. Was it possible to be furious and elated at the same time? Head and emotions reeling, he almost missed the subtle change from rough and driven to soft and gentle, as his eyelids slid shut. The Demon had finally been beaten back, leaving the Angel in her place. Selfishly, Rai freed one of his hands from the girl's grip and placed it gently at the back of her neck to pull her closer, wanting to savor the moment for just a little longer. It was a cruel thing to do; to put his interests before Akane's went against everything he wanted, and yet he couldn't stop himself.
Slowly and reluctantly, he sat up, finding it much easier to move now that Chi's strength had left, and Akane's body was drained. Finally pulling away from the kiss, he opened his eyes and positioned the girl so that she was cradled in his arms, and offered her a small smile, hoping that she hadn't noticed too much of what had just happened. "Akane-sama, how are you feeling?"

Warm. Rainwater and... sizzlepop? Her body felt heavy and her mind was scattered. What had happened? No more rain but she was still warm...
Colors took shape. White and red. For a moment a surge of fear shot through her and then those colors solidified. Red eyes and white skin but ears too and she could always recognize that.
"Rai...kun..." that name was familiar and safe. The safest in the world that she knew. But the ears... "Rai-kun?" she gripped his sleeve struggling to pull herself up, her fingers brushed against his hair and then his ears affirming their presence in her mind. But if that had happened, then- She cut off her train of thought. Rai was more important than her fear. Her body was weak but if he was like this then that could only mean he'd fought. And if he fought then.
"Are you hurt?" she tried to focus and make sure. Despite the exhaustion blue energy was already gathering around her palm as she gathered the lingering reishi in the air.
