An architectural marvel of Kirigakure, the bridge that connects the maketplace peninsula to the mainland has for some time been a staple attraction of the village. Built into the mountain range that surrounds the village, the path to the bridge is often times passed by foreigners, believing the unassuming nature of it to lead them to a residential area. The stone used to carve the bridge came from deposits within the mountains themselves, designed with four open arcs below that allow water to pass for one particular reason. This bridge is part of a continually expanding aqueduct system that has long existed in Kirigakure, allowing waste water from the village to be emptied into the tempestuous sea two-hundred feet below. ]

Mifune | Combo/Summoning Specialist | Kirigakure | Chuunin ||| Shinobi Profession: Sealing Master ||Mifune was not unaware of the new arrival, he simply did not make note of it in any form. The third shinobi stayed back near the Mizukage and spoke with him a few times. It was not something he had expected, but ti wasn't something he was worried about either. At the entrance to the bridge, Mifune stopped the party and waited turned to speak to the two younger shinobi who were out front. "The bridge should be cleared, but we need to be vigilant of any new threats that might threaten the cargo, or the operatives." Waiving the two over to him, Mifune stopped to the ground and began tracing an intricate design into the ground with a stick he picked up nearby. After a minute, he stopped drawing and then told them to study it closely. "This is an explosive seal, but don't worry, it's not active... it's missing several key components, but it serves to show you what you need to detect it. If you see one of these, let me know." Mifune then moved over a bit and drew another seal in the dirt next to his previous drawing. "This is a Kyouka Seal, a reinforcement technique. It's meant to reinforce a structure against any attack... the bridge has several of them. Make sure you can tell the difference between the two."With his small lesson now complete, Mifune reached into a pouch behind him and pulled out a blank sealing tag and a marker and began to draw on it. The design was intricate and involved and it took several minutes for him to complete. At the center was a large open space, a circle surrounded by a ring of characters and symbols which branched out in intricate and specific ways. At the end, Mifune drew a final character inside the open space, the symbol for 'Fire' and then put the marker away, handing the tag to whoever would take it first. "The easiest way for me to explain this is that this is a fire suppression seal... it will absorb any fire in the area once activated, which only requires a small bit of chakra. I suggest you put it on the cargo in case fire threatens it as we head forward. This bridge is the final leg of the journey, but the most dangerous. We can't afford to not be cautious."Mifune then stood up and looked to the Mizukage, "I will scout ahead a bit, but stay in view, and you can follow on the bridge, but keep your eyes peeled. I'll halt you if I detect a threat." Mifune then continued forward as he promised, but once he was far enough away, a smile came to his face as it was getting closer to the activation of his plan. Soon he would have the revenge on the village he had waited so long for. Chakra: [40/40]

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner As Mifune lead them onto the bridge and they halted, he requested the help of Masaki as well as Gauge. Truth be told, he didn't know how much help Masaki would be as far as this task was concerned. Strong boy sure, but he wasn't exactly the most attentive. As for Gauge, he wasn't quite sure how field attentive he was. He didn't want one of them mistaking one seal for another landing them in the hospital, it would just be another annoyance for Luo as far as this mission was concerned. Inhaling deeply, the man let out a heavy sigh, more than likely to relieve himself of stress as he usually did during the day. Looking down towards Hinoka Kamina, Luo cleared his throat a bit. "I might as well spend this time doing something productive with her while I wait for the bridge to be checked. It'll give me a chance to also keep an eye on Mr. Hatano and the cargo as well."
"I'm not in the habit of doing this, but when I read your file I noticed your lack of defensive ninjutsu. While I can certainly understand a swordsman's passive attitude towards ninjutsu, it isn't something we in that profession should take for granted. While they're checking the bridge, I'll have to teach you something of that nature both for the purposes of this mission, as well as to expand your repertoire of ninjutsu." He gave the girl a few short moments to respond before nodding in order to continue. Clasping his hands together, he ran through four seals one by one, slow enough for the girl to see each one "Mizu Tate no Jutsu. The most basic defense of any Kiri shinobi, the water shield technique. A cylindrical barrier capable of shielding you as well as your squad from attack. This jutsu is a staple as far as Kiri genin are concerned for the sheer fact that the size of the jutsu can accommodate three, in other words a squad. As you gain more control over the jutsu you'll be able to develop appendages to further deter opponents, but for now we'll work on the basics."
Extending his hand out slightly, Luo motioned towards the mist that was around them. "Luckily for you, pulling moisture from the air is at its easiest in Kirigakure. In other parts of the great five you'll find until your master of the jutsu is cemented, you'll sometimes require a source to draw water from. The goal is to coalesce water together around you quickly, and efficiently. The difficult part, is pressurizing the water in order for it to be capable of blocking attacks. I'll make you an offer. Not many genin are capable of it, but if you are quick enough to learn this before this mission is over, I'll set aside time for another private lesson in the future. So, I suggest you try your best." With that, Luo stepped back and placed his hands behind his back and feet shoulder width apart in a military-style "at ease" position. He would observe her process now, and just as well observe what went on around him on the bridge.

RANK: Genin ___ VILLAGE: Kirigakure ___AGE: Seventeen ___CHAKRA _ POOL: 31 ╱ 31 ___ CLASS: Weapon Master ___ SHINOBI TYPE: Tactical Ninja | Elemental Control ___ TECHNIQUES _ USED: None ___ ELEMENTS: Raiton || Suiton ___ OOC: - ___ THEME: Hinoka's theme ___ MOOD: Neutral ___ Clan: Ranton [Storm Release] ___ RYO: 500 Being notified that one was lacking the defensive techniques even swordsman should know was somewhat disappointing to the genin, but alas it was true. Fresh from the academy, she hadn't had the proper time to spend honing her skills. Not that she didn't want to, it was merely the way circumstances would have it. "Naturally, I hadn't had the proper time to conduct further training. Thank you" she said bowing her head respectfully before watching the handsigns the water shadow was demonstrating. Once he had finished, she began forming the handsigns almost as slow as he did, so one he may actually see she is combining the proper seals and not half-assing it like some liked to do and secondly for her own sake of remembering it. The technique in question was Mizu tate no Jutsu, a defensive maneuver in which a cylindrical barrier surrounds the user in order to defend them from a variety of assaults, not just herself but even squad mates. For now, as Luo had mentioned they will stick with the basics. Drawing forth from her chakra she began pulling water moisture from around her, something quite plentiful thanks to the various of bodies of water that was around them and more so the thick blanket of mist that shrouded the village. A string of water formed and moved in a circle around the pink-haired girl as she mimicked the handsigns that were demonstrated not that long ago, upon finishing the last seal drawing upon a larger portion of chakra from the reserves she held within her being. Water danced around the genin for a moment or two before spiraling around her in the likeliness of a cylinder before the chakra pulled back and began condensing. The spiral of water quickly molded and smoothed out, becoming darker in color as the water's molecules became tight-packed from the chakra compressing the liquid. After what seemed like minutes, reality shown different as only seconds had passed when she performed the proper handsigns and thus Hinoka now had a wall of water around her in a 360* angle.
To experiment the extent of her control over the technique, she began manipulating the water on the surface to exercise different manuvers. Multiple tendrils emerged and starting whipping outwards, slithering about in the air as if in search of something. The tentacles retreated briefly before spikes began protruding out of the surface, threatening to stab whoever wondered near enough to Hinoka posing a threat. The spikes shortly after began dissolving and recreating themselves into the form of hands, grabbing at thin air before the barrier came down sending water along the ground. Looking up at the Mizukage she remained in the position of attention, awaiting results of how she performed.
[1/1 jutsu learned. Woot for being taught and training bonus!]

Masaki did not pay a lot of attention to the man as he spoke, though he got the gist of the lecture. One seal was for fun the other for endurance. He never quite understood the concept behind seals, how did one picture "do" something different from another? they were just lines after all. Still he looked at the seals, because even he had used explosive tags before and knew that they worked. Still, the two seals looked really similar, and he wasnt sure he would be able to tell them apart if he saw them. A part of him wondered whether it even made sense. This was all to protect a cart full of paper and they were crossing a bridge over a decent sized puddle. If someone blew the bridge it would just ruin the paper. Unless the bridge issue was completely unrelated, but somehow he found that hard to believe. He didnt consider the other options though, such as blowing part of the bridge to block their path, or that this was all a diversion so they would miss something else. Without thinking too much about the consequences, Masaki took the seal and slapped it on the back of the carriage.
