Alutar waited for some response from Ling. Judging by their previous exchanges, he knew to expect there to be a period of silence before the other spoke. Still, this silence seemed to drag on much longer then before. Which meant the young prince began to grow bored. Alutar turned around in a slow circle so he could examine the cavern, then wandered his way around some rocks so he could investigate. he didn't bother trying to touch things with his hands, as the tendrils on his tail were much more sensitive then his fingers. He simply swung his tail around to touch or poke or pick random rocks and the random bug up that he came across. He figured eventually the cryptic guy would say something, so there was no purpose in him rambling on like some sun dweller!

It was a long time before Ling said anything. However, Ling liked the silence and had at least a mild appreciation for the fact the prince did not ramble or poke him with endless questions. Those kind of people had a way to get Ling annoyed real fast. He lifted his sightless face to and 'watched' the other as he moved about the dim cave touching things with the tendrils on his tail. They reminded him of Darkness and he felt a certain longing, yet at the same time it hurt. He set it in his mind to more actively seek redemption, rather than passively punish himself for his actions. Letting his legs go, he leaned back against the cool stone. He hadn't had many interactions with others that had lasted this long. Usually he drove them away or they drove him away. But this prince didn't seem to irritate him in the same way that many others did. He may have only felt this way due to his muddled state of mind, but he didn't feel like his usual self. Not that he wanted to get all personal, or that he would have even known how to even if he wanted to. Finally he spoke in a whisper. "Darkness, One misses."

There were some odd differences in the cave on the surface in compare to some of the ones he'd investiaged back home. For one the air seemed dryer, which meant the rocks and plants all had a slightly different feel to them. In addition, the bugs skittering about seemed far more abundant...though that might have been because there were no Darkbeasts to hunt them here. As Alutar's mind and tail wandered he pocketted a smooth stone, then paused. He had barely heard Ling speak again, as the eyeless pockettu seemed to have a habit of saying things that may have been more to himself. "I'm sorry? Were you talking to me?" Alutar called out as he ambled his way back over to Ling. "If you miss my dad why don't you go to the temple or something?"

A small sigh escaped Ling and he pulled the small, dark stone from his pocket once again. Between his painful emotions and his extended light exposure left confused and his mind a total wreak. He gave a slight shake of his head in repose to the prince. He didn't knew he couldn't bring himself to return to the one he missed so much, until he had been able to accomplish at least one redeeming act. Even then he would not be sure that he was worthy to once again feel the presence of Darkness. "Be it delicate, be it complex, pain, anger, must regain the lost." His words once again puzzling and somber.

Alutar found himself leaning forwards a bit to examine the object that Ling had taken from his pocket. It looked vaguely familiar, though he couldn't quite place where he'd seen it's like before. His eyes lifted when Ling would speak..and inwardly he groaned. The other pockettu was talking more mysteriously then ever before. The only thing he could figure out was that the situation was difficult. Alutar twitched his tail behind him slowly. "Well... I am sure that you'll eventually figure out the answer or something. Though seriously... I'd suggest staying in the darker areas of the cave. How is dad going to watch you without shadows?"

Ling lowered his head and his heart felt as though it was being squeezed. His emotions and Darkness's words washed over him as the prince spoke of Darkness watching him. In his depressed state he believed that he would have to earn the right for Darkness to even look his way. Like unto the first time he had upset Darkness. Rubbing his index finger over the smooth stone he felt his longing for deeper darkness rising, though he was still fighting a mental battle about what he deserved after what he had done. After a long silence he spoke in his soft, cryptic tone. "One to Darkness, Darkness to One. One cannot be if Darkness not be." The meaning totally obscure, but something about the tone was more than just hopeful.

Alutar kept glancing at the rock. It really was familiar. When Ling spoke again, the only thing that Alutar could pick up from the other was that his words didn't sound so...depressive. His tail flicked and curled behind him as he took a casual step away from Ling. "I...okay. I'm sure you've got it all figured out then...so..." Alutar looked around the cave again and moved a bit towards a darker area. "Does this cave go deeper? It isn't as bad as being out There but I think I'd really rather get back to the Umbra Road." Alutar twitched his tail once more, then ran his fingers through his hair slowly.

Ling lifted his sightless face towards the prince as he spoke again. His antenna waving passively. Without a word he lifted his clawed hand to point to the farthest end of the cavern. His dark claw indicating a narrow slit in the rock that was nearly invisible. Sliding his rock back into his pocket he 'watched' the prince of darkness from his perch. Thinking hard about all that had just happened and things that had happened in the past. He even pondered venturing into darker areas, but he hesitated, still not feeling quite worthy to even do that.

Alutar turned in the direction that Ling pointed to. He did not speak as he wandered his way into the deeper darkness, though his shoulders slumped with relief when he spied the way back into the depths he was familiar with. Alutar paused before the opening. He turned to look back, and upon seeing Ling looking in his direction, the prince merely lifted his hand in a small parting wave. After this, the boy slipped his way into the crevice and vanished.
