Kail noted pleased with himself when the cell went quiet and all he could hear was his own breathing along with those around him. His was still more a wheeze than a proper breath but he counted it. He felt those holding him shift a bit uncomfortably and he was glad to know that the name of the Apparition had that effect, that he had that effect. Kail flinched back when the prince reached out grasping his chin. While he wasn't afraid of the man he wasn't ready to feel more pain again quite so soon. Dark blue eyes met those of the prince's when he chin was lifted. Giving a soft laugh whe the prince said that he needed to know where he was, the prince had no clue. "You can not assure that when you don't know who I am, besides I don't trust you royals." Kail argued only giving a gasp of pain as the man before him squeezed a wound. "He's here." Kail protested.

The prince shrugged when the boy told him that he didn't trust royals. The prince couldn't blame the boy, the entire nation was upset with the royalty at the moment and things were not going to change any time soon, especially not with the way his father was currently running things. Having heard this response the prince let go of the boy's chin and turned his back to leave. Giving a sigh of relief as he neared the door.
The boy's next words though had the prince spinning around and dashing back to the boy. Once in range The prince brought the back of his hand across the side of the boy's blood-soaked face in a swift and powerful movement. "Silence fool, I will not have you spreading lies in my kingdom!" The prince boomed bringing his right hand back around only to bring it smashing into the boy's gut. The prince's blow hit with such force that the guards dropped the boy to the ground. "Leave us! I will deal with this liar myself..." the prince commanded, waiving his hand for the guards to leave.
The guards protested but the prince merely glared at them until their protests fell silent and with a sigh the two guards and the foreman left the cell and walked down the corridor to linger near the dungeon entrance.
The prince walked to the door of the cell and looked outside, glancing to the left and right to ensure that no one was near. Turning, the prince walked up to the boy and knelt down to where the Boy was hunched over on his knees. "Idiot, you almost gave him away!" The prince scolded, smacking the boy across the top of his head. "He is the only way that I can rid this kingdom of my father and I will not have you giving him away!" The prince said, a slightly desperate tone resounding in his voice.

Kail watched the prince move away with an almost soft sigh of relief. He had expected more pain to come, for the man to know who the Apparition was. But when he proclaimed that the Apparition was around the prince was bounding back over to his backhanding him across the face before landing a solid punch to his gut. Kail collapsed cough violently almost to the point that he would have lost the contents of his stomach had he eaten anything that morning. He had been dropped to his knees by the guards and he hunched over laying his face against the cool dirty ground.
He feared more pain to come when the prince ordered everyone from the room. Kail didn't bother to move as he regained control of himself he knew not what was going to happen to himself when the prince knelt by his side. To say that Kail was surprised was an understatment. His head snapped up to look at the prince confusion and surprise evident. "What are you talking about?" Kail gasped out ignoring the blow to the top of his head.

The prince knelt over the boy, watching him closely. While the temptation was strong to divulge his intentions this was not the time or the place. He didn’t trust the boy and there wasn’t time, the guards were probably already suspicious of the prince wanting to be alone with the prisoner. “There isn’t time to explain” The prince glanced over his shoulder at the open door “the guards will return shortly if I remain here much longer” the prince warned, standing up to leave. “You know something about the apparition, and that makes you valuable to me.” Walking toward the doorway he glanced back “I will figure out a way to postpone your execution tomorrow, don't do anything stupid.” The prince said as he exited the cell.
Walking down the hallway the prince addressed the guards. “He is not to be tortured any further today, I need him to recover his strength.” The prince commanded, looking toward the exit of the dungeon, longing for the fresh air. “He knows something about the apparition and is simply too valuable to execute at this time, I need you to clean him up and present him to me in the morning.” The prince said, ignoring the stunned looks on the faces of the guards. He had taken a huge risk for this boy, he had better be worth it.

Kail grew more and more confused when the prince said he was more valuable than before because he knew about the Apparition. Then the man wouldn't explain just promised to try and stay his execution. Kail grew more and more confused the more the prince spoke. He couldn't decide if what he thought was going on was really going on. The suddenly the prince was gone and the guards were returning. He expected to be torture again as they hoisted him up but instead he was dragged to a different cell and left there with the cell door locked.
It was the next morning when the guards returned Kail had barely slept during the night. They cleaned him up and placed him in a room still bound to wait for the prince. He was quickly up and moving about looking for anything that would allow him to cut his hands free.

"What are you looking for?" the prince asked, already knowing the answer but curious anyway "I am sure if there is anything in here that could conceivably used for escape you'd have found it by now," he said with a smile, taking a seat at his desk. "Have a seat, please," pointing an open hand a nearby chair, ushering the boy to the plush seat placed in the middle of a princely office" The walls were adorned with the pictures of past kings and the swords they used to expand and protect the kingdom. It was morning and the sun was filtering in from a side window, giving the room enough natural light that candles and torches were not required.
"You are probably wondering why you are sitting here and not on your hands and knees before the guillotine downstairs" the prince said with another smile, enjoying the fact that he was now owed a favor. "I need you to introduce me to the apparition, and you need me to make sure you aren't killed for what you attempted to do." The prince said, leading back in his chair. "Given your physical condition and recent demonstration of skill, I am going to make you my manservant." the prince said, his tone dropping a little. "This should protect you from any reprisals by my father when he returns, and this will buy us some time to figure out how to get us BOTH out of here..." the prince said, looking hard at the boy and gauging his reaction. "You will have to do everything that I say..."
