This will one of those shows that I hate because it does not show a variety of nerds (which is mostly likely) and they are doing classic nerd things, but I'll give it one more try.

There are pretty standard on their types. They came in a two pack as well. There are engineers, scientist, gamer, comic book nerds, a fantasy writer and a few others types mixed in. They don't have any cosplayers, Otakus, historians, or Ringers and it doesn't seem that any of them know Japanese. Right now I think I could be all of them as long as I didn't get the first challenge.

As for the competition it'll be two in a show, but because was first episode there was only one and a 'get to know them' piece. The elimination competition was a game of Chess. There was only one nerd who knew how to play it because the game is not considered nerdy enough in today's standards. It's kind of looked at as what a gentleman would play.

All in all the next episode would make or break if I continue watching it. The special guest for the episode is George Takei and a famous cosplayer called Yaya. So will see.

It doesn't really sound as interesting as I had hoped. )=
I agree about the chess thing.. it isn't really a 'nerdy' thing any more. This all makes it seem like it's going off the old stereotype of 'nerd' and not what it actually is anymore.
I may watch an episode or two anyway just to see though.
