Cocklebur smirked smugly as the officer finally did as he was told and the two rabbits were joyfully reunited. That smirk only widening as he straightened up with the praises of both Pitchweed and Wildwood.
Oh right, Badassi was still there. The officer likely wasn't happy, but that didn't really concern him any.
"You may go, Badassi. I'm certain you have other duties to attend to."

Badassi saluted, before plodding down one of the tunnels, ears back and a scowl firmly planted on his face. To say he was furious was an understatement and even as he left, he could still hear Pitchweed and Wildwood, or "Pitchwood" as they liked to call the pair, singing Cocklebur's praise and vehemently insulting himself and Crocus. He snorted, kicking up bits of dirt from the well worn path as he made his way to the surface for some fresh, albeit chilly air.
He'd definitely be meeting with Bracken-rah later.
"Thanks again, Cocklebur-rah." The woodgrain marked doe would have batted her lashes if she hadn't thought it would upset her brother, but her tone was much warmer than she generally used.
"If there is any way my brother and I can repay you for your kindness, please let us know."

Pitchweed was oblivious to his surroundings for a moment. He was pressed firmly to his sister's back, eyes closed as he doted on her. His ears picked up the little heartbeats in her womb and he was satisfied that she was alright.
"Yes, yes, anything at all! We have a debt to you and will not rest until it is paid back." He had a genuine smile on his face, for once not dabbled with smugness or dishonesty. He groomed his sister anew, his tail wiggling happily behind him.
"My sister is with kitten." He said smoothly. "I can promise their loyalty to you as well, Cocklebur-rah. Please, accompany us to our burrow and enjoy some of our flayrah." He didn't mention he pulled most of it from the mouths of outskirters.

Cocklebur tilted his head while the corner of his mouth turned upward slightly in a crooked smirk. It seems that things had played right into his paws as he had planned.
"Your loyalty is all that I need. However, I do appreciate the invitation, and I think I will join you."
Tightening the bonds of his loyal supporters certainly didn't hurt.

"They won't question you, I assure you." Wildwood added as her brother offered Cocklebur the fealty of her unborn kittens. She knew she'd be a good marli and would rear them properly. They wouldn't be soft and thickskulled, like many of the youngsters she'd seen running amuck in the warren, not if she had anything to do with it. She was certainly not a doe to be trifled with and would not be a marli to do so with, either.
She actually found herself a bit taken aback, delighted in the fact that Cocklebur, the captain of owsla, would be visiting their burrow to feed on their dried flayrah. In her mind, he was the true leader of the warren anyway. He was a strong, proud rabbit who's firmness was something the warren was in dire need of, or so she felt. She wiggled her ears slightly and pressed her nose to her brother's side, before moving away from the confinement burrows and towards their own. She was eager to stretch her legs and get back to the familiarness of home.
