What part of the south? Its not that bad here in NC. No more wores than any other place I would asssume. Lots of friendless and people who are indiffrent and a few jerks.

And getting any government help in any way >.> I had to get an india company to pay for my college. there are not alot of options. If I was another race or a woman. It would of been soooooo much easier. I can list an a** load of tax breaks, grants, and scholarships I was not able to apply for because of my race and gender. As far as being gay goes. Midtown Buckhead and Williams street. Super pro-gay communities that never get any flack.

Every one is discriminated in someway. The Grass is always greener on the other side. Just be happy your not gay in Jamaica. You got it good here. The groups that run around bashing and oppressing gays are not the majority.

The is a huge difference in not agreeing with someone's life style and oppressing them.

In the south most people disagree with homosexuality, but will not attack you psychically or verbally about it.

I used to go to a very old baptist church in a small town. They did preach that homosexuality was wrong, but they also preached hate the sin love the sinner. Witch is a very common doctrine all over the south. It means no matter what someone does love them and help them regardless of there actions. Give them clothes if they need them, feed them if they are hungry and care for them if they are sick.

These people may tell you they don't approve of your life style, but they dont hate you for it, and will do nothing to hold you back.

Don't only focus on the hardships and hurdles in life you will get no where. Have goals and focus on the good in your life and you can make it. Also be your self the whole way. I bet less people are against you than you think.

I need to remember this also, as i often forget.

There is a reason that there are endowments for minoritys to make it to universities. And any low income person can apply for financial aid.
I find the statement that it would be so much easier if you were a different race of female to be quite offense and ignorant to the social problems that still plague or nation. Look at the college acceptance, poverty, and prison stastics and try and tell me with a straight face you would be better off as a different race.
