I'm sick of the past I can't erase
A jumble of footprints and hasty steps I can't retrace

She had no idea why she even bothered to go back home. Nothing had changed. For once things were peaceful in Faerie and it looked like it would stay that way for a while. Maybe it will even last the Elysium, she thought. Finally she came up to the trod that let out near the forest pool. Luckily, it was in Shadowed moon territory. The only other one remotely close that she could pass through was in Blood moon territory, which she avoided using at all costs. Before she went through, she made sure she was completely glamoured. No one would be able to see or smell her. The last thing she wanted was for one of the wolves to see her come out of what would appear to be a moss curtain.

The first thing she heard when she walked out the other side was, "After all, one doesn't forget a member of the Blood Moon pack."

For a second she wondered if she took the wrong trod, but soon she recognized the voices that were speaking. Well, all except for one. Quietly, she climbed down to one of the rocks that centered in the pool. She watched the exchange carefully. It didn't take her long to figure out that the stranger was the Blood Moon's Alpha. But why is he talking with them? She stayed there till he finally left, his words leaving a bitter taste in her mouth. As soon as he was out of hearing range she jumped to shore, leaving the wolves behind so she could think in silence.

After Yang left, Esther began to feel awful. His words rang in her ears, "Protect the little one, from enemies and friends alike, he will be the one, that decides our fate..." Her thoughts were going a mile a minute; "what did he mean by that? Was there something that she didn’t know and he did?" Esther could feel her nerves stand on end. Given his ability, she knew Allen could tell who to trust and who to be weary of, but it was her duty to look after and protect her little brother.

She looked over at Kaina and Allen, and saw how happy he was. While she and Yang spoke to one another, she overheard Kaina say that she couldn't wait for them to come visit her and that she would show them her flower garden. Allen was smiling from ear to ear in excitement. Looking at that, Esther felt relived. Though Allen just arrived into their town, it looked to her that he found a friend in one of her friends. “Allen come here please,” she said, gesturing him to come to her. Allen looked from Esther, to Kaina, then back to his sister and went to her. When he reached her, she wrapped her arms around him warmly, “What is it big sis?” he asked curiously. “Do you mind if I talk to Kaina a bit?” she asked kindly. Without hesitating, he nodded, “Of course.” As Esther’s arms unwrapped around his torso, he went off away from them to look at the water. “Just stay where I can see you, okay?” she yelled, hearing him yell back a “Yes,” as he continued toward the waters edge.

Looking back at Kaina, Esther let her mask fall. “Gah! That guy just drives me crazy. I’m sorry Kaina,” she apologized as she looked at her friend with sad eyes, “I acted all high and mighty for a minute there. I know that given my rank, I have no right to act like that.” Esther chuckled to herself, “I guess I have no one to blame but myself. It’s just that I have a new responsibility now,” she said, looking over at Allen as he started looking into the water, “Ever since Allen came, I felt like it’s my duty to protect him. And I will do anything to protect my little brother. I mean, he’s the only family I have left.” She looked back at Kaina and gave her a small smile, “So I’m sorry if you felt uncomfortable for what I said. To be honest, I didn’t feel any ill intentions when he was here but you know, instincts got the best of me. Anyway, I look forward to when we visit too. Just remember to give me a list of things you might need me to bring when we head up there.”

Suddenly Esther came up with a good idea. Grabbing her pack, she rummaged through the contents until she found a tall thermal canister and three Styrofoam cups, “Would you like some hot chocolate Kaina. It’s my own secret recipe,” she asked. “Big sis!” cried a voice from behind her. Looking over at her brother, she could see that he was holding something she almost spilled the whole thermos on the ground. “I found a snake!” he cried happily. Esther quickly got up from her feet and yelled, “Ah! Allen!! Put that down right now!” She turned back to Kaina, “I’ll be right back. Please help yourself if you want some.” Running towards Allen, she continued to yell at him frantically and not as harshly as before. For a minute, Esther thought she felt someone else was in the vicinity, but quickly brushed the feeling aside.

(OCC: Hey guys! I'm really sorry for being away for so long. A lot of drama and things happened here.)

Life is so short, and the time we have with it precious.
Maybe we shouldn't waste it with pointless fighting and judgement.

After a moment Kaina simply looked away from Yang's retreating back, turning to smile again at Allen, though perhaps in the slightest bit less cheer than she had shown before. It was upsetting that he had left so quickly after he had come, but she supposed she understood in some way or another. When Esther called Allen to her the brown haired she-wolf slid her eyes closed for a moment, dropping her gaze to the ground before lifting it again and opening them once more to give a comforting smile to Allen, noting how he glanced back and forth between his sister and her. Once the other had sent the boy away so that she could talk to her without him over hearing she let the smile slip away, though she didn't necessarily look upset, just slightly pained and curious and maybe slightly wary.

Kaina listened carefully to the other she-wolf's words, trying to grasp exactly what she was trying to say. Instincts, from what she knew, generally did do exactly what you didn't want them to at times, and it seemed that Esther was being genuine in her apologies..so she knew she should forgive her. Could forgive her, though she still felt a small stinging pain in her heart that remained from hearing her talk like that to Yang. Then again...Yang hadn't done much better when he had threatened Esther, which whether he had evil intent or not, was exactly what it was when you held something sharp to another be it a claw, knife or whatever else. Shaking her head slightly she let a small smile slip back onto her face as she responded.

"I think I can at least understand a little. I'm not much of an instinct kind of person. My wolf hasn't really woken yet after all. Though..it's okay...I'm not mad at you. Oh, and okay..I'll make sure to give you a list next time. I don't remember exactly what I wanted to get this time though." She said softly, watching the other girl as she pulled out a canister of what was explained as being hot chocolate. To be honest Kaina had never tried it herself, too afraid that the sweets might upset her stomach, but as Esther set it down to go to her brother, and the she-wolf caught the soft warm scent of chocolate, she decided she wouldn't so much mind trying. She just hoped that it wouldn't disagree with her. Watching for a moment as her friend wandered over to her little brother, she cautiously reached forward and picked up the canister and one of the cups. Carefully she poured a little into it and set the warm container down.

After a few seconds of watching the steam rise from the cup, she held it to her lips, tilting it slightly to sip the warm, rich chocolate of the drink. With a soft gasp at the flavor she blinked, a smile slipping onto her face, her eyes holding a sort of fascination in them. Honestly she had never tried something so amazing. It wasn't at all too sweet nor was it necessarily bitter, more like, just right for her. The creamy chocolate warmed her from the inside out and she let out a soft giggle wiggling a bit.

"This is amazing! Did you guys make this? I've never tried anything like it!" She said aloud, her voice holding a slight excitement that matched her smile and the look in her eyes. Sweets often upset her illness, and sometimes triggered an attack so she often avoided foods that were too sweet. However the hot chocolate wasn't to strongly sweet, and she felt no signs of her sickness acting up. Honestly? She was never allowed to eat chocolate, not even when she was young and lacked her condition, because she was sensitive to it even then. The only kind Kaina was even allowed to dream of having was a form of white chocolate that lacked the amount of sugar it usually did. They made it with more natural ingredients rather than loading it down with extra stuff, making it hold more of a hint of sweetness rather than what it would be like sold in stores. Even then, it was her parents who made it for her, and they weren't really around anymore.

With a warm smile she looked to Allen, who was still holding the snake it seemed. Curious she studied the snake he held in his hands and tilted her head, watching the pattern as it moved over the scales. Which struck her as odd. Weren't the patterns on snakes supposed to be still, only rippling if the snake was moving? It didn't seem to be trying to escape the boy though, maybe moving very slightly, but that didn't mean much. She tried searching through her mind to seek out what kind of snake it might have been, but she couldn't quite place her finger on it. Then she realized that a slight sense of worry, or maybe dread had rose into her chest, though her heart plummeted to her stomach. Something inside of her told her that Allen needed to drop the snake and get away from it, but she didn't quite understand it. It didn't seem like a poisonous sort. How had she even seen the scales to begin with? Her eyes were as strong as a humans usually.

"Esther...I think you really should be careful, and get that snake away from him."She said softly, but still loud enough for the other to hear. A soft fluctuation of the air somewhere to her left made her slip her gaze towards it, though she didn't turn her head, simply peered towards it from the corners of her vision. It was odd, a small patch of odd coloring that seemed to constantly shift, though it seemed to vanish just as quickly as she had seen it. With a small shake of her head she turned her gaze back to Esther and Allen, gently setting her cup down and standing to head in their direction.

I believe everyone deserves a fair chance at trust, no matter what others say.
After all, in this world, we can't afford to fight, to lose everything.

Out of Cognition: Ah I should be the one apologizing, for some reason I got no notification that you posted here and I only yesterday realized it. It's alright that you took a while, seeing as I kept you guys waiting just as long. If not longer. I wanted to add more but I decided against it. If you couldn't tell, Kaina's wolf seems to have woken a tiny bit more, mostly with her sight though she doesn't get that yet. XD Also I hope her watching the snake thing was okay, if not I can get rid of it. ^ ^
