"I would break my body to pieces to call you once by your name!" Doe's Name: Ashpaw Meaning: Her fur is colored grey like ash, particularly her feet where it looks like she stepped into some.
"Your name is a golden bell hung in my heart." Doe's Name: Cattail Meaning: Her darker coloration matches that of the cattail plant and the single mark upon her back resembles one sticking out from the water.
Sonuva Gun! Buck's name: Storm Chaser Personality: Since he was a young kitten, Storm Chaser has been notorious for finding trouble. It has never been that he intentionally seeks it, but there is a reason he was named after a chaser of storms and it had nothing to do with him literally chasing storm clouds around the warren. Many times, Storm had stumbled across frightening disagreements, brutal fights between rabbits, and been hunted by many elil. Perhaps he was passed on some innate skills or intuition from his father, or maybe he was blessed by the devil's luck, but Storm Chaser has managed to avoid being grievously injured or killed. He may play it off by citing genetics or good fortune, but Storm Chaser has always had keen instincts and a level head which have helped him out of numerous problems in the past. He is not one to get emotionally involved in most matters, at least not obviously. Storm refuses to wear his heart on his sleeve, knowing all too well how easily those who do can be injured or manipulated. He is familiar, as well, with the perception that emotions are considered a weakness; though he does not personally subscribe to this belief, he feels as though he must outwardly adhere to it so as to keep himself appearing strong and capable. Storm Chaser is a critical and decisive rabbit who puts a great deal of thought into his actions, rarely regretting his choices even when they do not turn out as planned. He is careful, cautious, and knows when to back down or stand his ground. This rabbit is one who chooses his battles wisely and does not cause undo confrontation. He feels more at ease in the Autumn months, when the weather is somewhat dreary, as he perceives less of a threat from elil during storm seasons. While he is a quiet sort, this allows Storm Chaser to be a much better listener than conversationalist and he will do his best to offer advice on matters, even regarding situations in which he has no experience. This buck is good at keeping his emotions in check, allowing for more logical responses to most situations and intelligent thought to be applied to circumstances where it may normally be overlooked. His preference is to be as quick and unpredictable as lightning, but not nearly as fickle. This is true as well for his tactics in physical confrontations, where he often outlasts his opponent through dodging and dealing minor wounds.
How he views his family: His father, Captain Cocklebur, is someone Storm Chaser looks up to and respects despite extremely limited interaction. In his absence, Storm Chaser feels a great deal of responsibility and loyalty to his family and, now that he is fully grown, is embracing the role of caring for his marli as a parli would under normal circumstances. There is some sibling rivalry present, though Storm Chaser does well not to take such things personally. He is not, however, above starting disagreements of the sort. If his siblings or mother express views that do not align with his own, he would certainly speak out against them but is the type of rabbit who can "agree to disagree". Storm feels a great deal of debt to both parents and thus he will attempt to do anything in his power for them. Even if he and his siblings don't always get along, he is always willing to be there for them and offer help when they have need of it.
What now? As expected from a Son of Owsla, Storm Chaser has lofty ambitions. He does not expect this role to be given to him, and dutifully is ready to try and earn his place like any other buck. However, the role of an Owsla Officer has easily seduced this rabbit from a young age. The responsibility this position entails inspire pride and feelings of justice in him, all things he would like to aspire towards. While he may butt heads with the others in his family now and then, he is prepared to give his life for them and the rest of the warren if necessary. Though there is some desire for recognition should he achieve this goal, his main motivations are noble; Storm Chaser genuinely wants a safer warren for all of the rabbits.

I know what happened to that skunk Owsla!
What's his name? Athyrium
Specifically the Japanese Painted Fern Athyrium niponicum 'Burgundy Lace'
And what happened to him? Born on the run, he'd come from a family of a destroyed warren, and then his marli got sick. Athyrium had to watch as the remains of his family died around him and he was left wandering alone. He ran into fights with elil almost at every turn. Being a rather large buck he was mistaken for a lendri on occasion when he found himself stumbling upon a warren after a fight. Of course those times didn't really go well.
How he got into the Owsla from his situation was a miracle in of itself, he'd been eating at some flayrah he'd stolen from man when a crow arrived and he wound up fighting it off himself. After all, when you live life as a hlessi, every day is your last. That was Athyrium's saying.

I know what happened to that skunk Owsla!
What's his name? Embleer (It's a nickname, and it stuck.)
And what happened to him? His marli, or perhaps the humans she lived with, named him Fluffy. It was clear from the start that Fluffy wasn't meant to be a hutch rabbit. He bit the hands that fed him and he scratched those that tried to pet him. No one was surprised when he dug his way out of the hutch as an outskirter.
He ganged up with a couple of other young bucks, out to try their luck on their own. It wasn't an easy life, but he turned out to be a quick learner, and he told the others that his parli had been a wild rabbit. At least that’s what his marli always told him.
Many scars come from this time. He fought with those that laughed at his name, and he fought for territory with other wild rabbits. The gang of bucks were steadily decimating, and he started to realize that he would soon stop running if he stuck with life as a hlessi. He didn’t want to go back to the hutch, but he decided to try to join a warren. It took time and effort to prove his worth at Watership Down, but he did it. Perhaps they took pity on him for hanging in there for so long. He was chased off, but came back and tried to show that he wasn't going to harm the warren. And once he was in he showed that all the fighting he'd done in his life wasn't for nothing. After helping chase off elil on more than one occasion he was promoted to owsla.
It’s unclear if his nickname started because of his body odor or if it’s because he’s swearing all the time. Probably the latter, because his language is absolutely foul!

Oh, these children of mine! Marli's name: Pebbles Personality: Everyone thinks she's old since she had a litter of kittens but in fact she is still young for a rabbit her age. She once used to be the fastest runner in the warren until she fell in love with Cocklebur, the witty and handsome Owlsla. She was always the confident yet modest type. She won't brag about all the successful runs she has done with her group or make herself feel superior compared to other rabbits. Instead, she is very patient and is willing to help and teach the young and old in survival skills when needed. How she views her family: After giving birth to a lovely litter of kittens and seeing them all grown up, she treasures them all very dearly and will guide them to finish tasks on their own without too much interference because she sees them as independent adults now. Offering to help may seem like she's nagging them so she doesn't do it. However, if they come and ask her for help she will offer it to them without thinking twice about it. Since she was the one that stayed close to the litter since birth, she knows that her children have paid attention to her seeing her as their role model ( ie, observing how she outruns the farmer's cat and dog and other wild animals, how she collects food, and how she behaves around others ) when they were just outskirters, and trusts them all not to do stupid things that will cost them their lives. She is a proud mother but seldom shows it. What now? She is yearning for another litter with the healthy Owlsla but accepted the fact that he might have lost interest in her after giving birth and is most likely going after does younger than her. Although not all of her children will become a strong Owlsla like their father, she will be satisfied if she gets to be a grandma rabbit after her children find a partner and start a family of their own. Being able to tell the young grandkids stories as they grow up, and being able to protect them every now and then, will put a smile on her face. But if another buck shows signs of interest in her...she might think about it...to have another litter of kittens with another partner...
Birds. Cotton Thistle never knew what type of feeling he felt when he thought of birds, hawks to be specific. On one paw he feels some type of respect for them, they are masters at what they have to do. On the other paw he wish he‘d never seen one; he wouldn't be here now if he hadn't though.
One day when Cotton Thistle was a young buck- just about ready to leave his marli‘s nest- he and his brother were feeding at the edge of a forest. The next thing he knew they were both careening back towards it, a hawk had appeared over them and was already diving. His heart racing in his ears and his feet pounding the ground. A screech cut through the forest like an icy wind. Cotton Thistle didn't stop running, his brother did.
The memories of that day often ran through the young rabbit’s head, he wondered if he could of done something to save his brother and it began to tear him up inside. During the next couple of months Cotton Thistle lived alone, traveling only forward hoping to find some peace of mind. He developed into a large, muscular buck on his way. His legs became powerful and his wits were quick, he tricked and evaded Elil and even found a few does to settle with for a couple days time. But that one thought: Could he have done something? It hung over his head and kept him moving.
It was one early morning when he was awoken to the sounds of young rabbits and their shrill voices as they played amongst themselves near the foot of a large down. He focused on them from under the bush he had slept under. There were a few young rabbits playing some sort of game and a couple of does slowly working at finding some good flay in the new morning sun. Cotton Thistle sat under that lush bush and observed, there was nothing else to do- if he left the others would certainly see him and he didn't want to startle anyone, that might set the Owsla out on his tail.
That is when he heard an all to familiar sound calling over head, he pushed his upper body from under the bush and looked up. He saw the beast just as it was about to start it’s decent. Cotton Thistle watched as the others began to flee, but unless something confronted the bird someone would surly be taken. His long claws dug into the soft ground as he propelled himself forward, he could do something this time, he knew it.
He ran swiftly, calculating where the bird would try and strike. He saw one of the rabbits lagging. He knew that is what it was after. With one large leap Cotton Thistle put himself between the small rabbit and the descending hawk, something Cotton Thistle would never have guessed he would have done and something the other two were not expecting. The hawk reacted quickly when it felt flesh while Cotton Thistle let out a horrid noise when he felt the Elil’s talons sink into his ears. Unluckily for the bird it wasn't the biggest of it’s kind and it had trapped a rather large and very angry buck in a weak hold. Cotton Thistle felt the talons slowly drag their way through his ear as he slipped back onto the ground.
He didn't have any time to recover before he had to avoid the talons when the stubborn hawk came at him. He turned like a dime and launched himself into the air at the hawk - his long, unruly claws were the first to meet the animal’s side. They sliced into bird as gravity worked it‘s way on Cotton Thistle and he, once again, fell back to the ground. The hawk let out a noise of pain and sped off into the sky.
Slowly a good portion of other rabbits appeared, looking from the down to see a buck lucky to still be on four legs, lucky to still be alive. One of the rabbits from the Owsla bounded down towards him. Others soon followed. Cotton Thistle learned he had saved the life of a young doe and had chased off a hawk on his own. He was invited into the warren to clean his wounds and he ended up staying.
Over the months he proved himself a brave warrior, helping with as many things as he could- even earning himself a few new scars and tufts of missing fur along the way. He was eventually asked to be a part of the Owsla, which he agreed to full heartedly.

"Your name is a golden bell hung in my heart." Doe's Name: Persimmon Meaning: An edible, red fruit that has various medicinal and chemical uses. Much like the tomato, it is considered to be a berry, though many don't think of either in such a way.
"What is a king to a god? What is a god to a nonbeliever?"
Sonuva Gun! Buck's name: Storm Personality: Storm if a very serious sort, who works hard and wants to better the warren. He has the drive to make something great of himself and he has an extreme amount of self discipline. He is very focused and can follow orders to the letter. He is extremely loyal and can be very protective of those in the warren. He wants very badly to follow in his father’s paw prints and become a member of the owsla. He trains daily and is always working towards his goal; it has for the most part consumed him. How he views his family: He idolizes his father and because of that he overlooks the bucks bad traits. He wants to be just like him and is so proud to be his son. He loves his mother and cares deeply for her but he wishes she wasn’t such a coddly type, or one that was such a gossip. He wishes she would push his brother more to make something of himself. As for his brother he drives him batty, he can’t wrap his mind around how he can hate their sire and want nothing to do with the warren but make trouble. It baffles him and he doesn’t know how to tell him that. What now? He will strive to become part of the owsla. Which I am hoping he does, and I would really like if something smacked some sense into him and he finally saw that his sire wasn’t all rainbows and flowers. Which would really turn his world upside down, he wouldn’t leave the owsla of course, it’s his calling but it would for sure strike some sense into him and make him more reserved. After the setback from his father he will probably fall to watching Althea, and looking up to her for some sort of guidance.
At least one ear is standing at attention, sir! Buck's name: Burrfoot Personality: Storm is a tricky sly little brat of a bunny. He has no want to be serious at all. He hates being serious and would rather spend his days playing tricks on others than working. He has been struck with wonderlust and often ventures out farther than he really ought to. He is fun loving and really easy going; it’s extremely hard to get his goat. He enjoys life and can’t stand the uptightness of the owsla, he will never be a part of the owsla. He honestly has no aspirations in life other than to adventure. How he views his family: He loves his mother, she is his world. She is always putting up with his jokes and tricks and laughing with him. She means the world to him due to this. They are very close, and he feels that she is the only one that truly understands him. He loves his siblings though he honestly finds them a bit suffering from time to time, they can be so boring. Especially his brother at times, who can be so freaking serious; he loves his brother and would do a lot for him but he feels that he really needs to find himself and stop following after their father. Speaking of, he is not overly fond of the buck. One could go so far to say he downright hates the male. He finds him stuffy, too serious, cruel at times, and way too full of himself. It drives Strom up the warren wall. What now? Well as stated before he has no real drive to become something in the warren. I probably won’t be pushing for any of the three open special spots in the warren. He just seems like the type that would wait or eventually leave the warren to find his own place. I can see him doing better in a different warren, one where he isn’t following in the paw prints of his father. Where rabbits don’t expect things of him, so first I would probably wait and drag him off to a new warren when one appears. From there probably build him up to runner. As they happy go lucky look on their faces seems to fit him quite well and he is quite fast.
