Orin was liking the woman less and less, but decided to trust Keira. He and Keira had a common goal, and whether they were becoming friends or not, he had learned to trust her thus far. She's not like those humans who destroyed my people, he admitted. He nodded and turned to the queen. "I will agree, but only at the request of Lady Keira. I do not do this for you. I take no orders from your people, save for the king - and only until I get what I came for." He nodded to Keira, expressing a silent warning in his eyes about the woman and left to the mouth of the cave with soldier Son.

Keira looked back at Orin and nodded. Keira hoped that she made the right choice by having him step outside but its that Guardsman that kept her uneasy. She didn't like leaving Orin alone, especially that of a man she don't know. She then looked back at the queen waiting for her to do as she wished but she kept her guard up just in case she didn't do anything to escape or to attack.

 Son, Who resides in the body of...^*^The Guardsmen^*^ --------------------- Son listened as the group argued back and forth before finally peace was made by the one named Keira and Allistriona coming to a compromise. He wasn't entirely sure about leaving her alone, or even helping her up with the injuries she had. He could read eyes well though, and beleived that Keira meant no harm. All he saw in her eyes was annoyance, which as far as he was concerned was trivial.
What did bother him was Orin. His radiation of power and the look in his eyes showed aggression, and whether it was justifiable from the man's position or not he did not like it. He resolved he would have to examine the man more closely and learn either how to control him to work with him or how he controlled his power. As it was he was just glad that the man wasn't being left alone with Allistiriona.
Once they had calmed he stooped down and slowly lifted her out of the bed, moving carefully so as to make sure that none of her injuries would be further exacerbated by the movement. He moved her to the floor and set her down lightly. "If you need anything just call. I will be listening." He told her and he stood. He then turned and walked out, following Orin.
Once they were outside at the mouth of the cave Son looked out at the sight of the battlefield from the night before. "You seem like a man with quite a story behind you Orin. Care to share any of it while we wait?" He asked the man, knowing that the more he could learn the better. As it was he didn't know much about who this man was.

Orin frowned in the soldier's direction. There was something intensely familiar about him and he didn't trust him. He felt as if he knew the man from his previous companion, the Sorceress of Rhodesa. He struggled to remember, but couldn't. He decided to slyly try a different approach. "Tell me, friend," he said, emphasizing friend in such a way that made it clear he was nothing of the sort, "have you ever been to Rhodesa? The Master Sorceress was a friend of mine. Perhaps you know of her?"

Son, Who resides in the body of...^*^The Guardsmen^*^ --------------------- Son was surprised to hear the man mention Rhodesa, and most especially the Sorceress. All accounts he had received since escaping his imprisonment seemed to indicate that the sorceress and Rhodesa were nothing but forgotten history. He raised an eyebrow, now inherently interested. Anyone who had seen his mother since his imprisonment would be a source of information that he could not lose.
"You must be older than you look sir Orin, or just plain mad. History tells that the Sorceress died thousands of years ago, or at least that's what I've heard." He honestly had no idea whether she lived or not, he knew that she had the power that she could have preserved herself for that long, but since no one had even heard or seen her in so long he found it doubtful. The one thing that was clear was that if this man did know her, he was likely to know where her tower stood. The world had changed since his youth, and he needed to return to the tower to complete his plan.
"As for Rhodesa, I fought on the desert that takes up where it used to be a few days ago. I'd be quite interested in how you knew the sorceress though." He leaned his back against the wall of the cave, acting relaxed though he didn't let his eyes leave the strange man.

Alistriona ignored Keira as she began to shift. It had been so long since she had recieved such serious injuries that she actually screamed when the transformation began. While normally she could the transition from human to wolf rather easily and quickly, this one took some time as her bones had to realign in her human self and then realign in her wolf self. It was agonizing to feel the burning of the healing taking place. Her scream transitioned into a howl as the transformation finished taking place. After a second, Alistriona fell silent and began to assess the girl. She stared at her trying to figure out who she really was when she felt another leak of power from the one known as Orin. Her hackles raised but she fought the growl that came with it. As she sat there thinking she turned her thoughts to Aarvard, her love. When she could breath without sharp pain, she began the transformation to human. This time it was painless. She stood up nude in front of Keira and beckoned to her. "I need your help to put my armor and gear back on."

Orin detected just a hint of a lie, which meant the man was not telling the full truth, but disguising it with recent fact. The soldier's gaze betrayed him, feeling much older than the man appeared. It carried the weight of an old soul and caged power. He didn't like it very much and found himself trusting even less.
On a whim, to gain a reaction, he allowed himself to be blunt. "She was my lover," he told the stranger, staring him down and waiting for the faintest involuntary movement.

Keira watched upon the transformation and didn't flinch. She had seen many creatures that people only dream of being mythical. Keira eyes gazed upon the King's lover as she too stared at her. Keira figured she was trying to read her or find why she was here. Keira was taught by her father and husband to his her soul in her eyes as if she was empty. She made sure she wasn't readable nor have her eyes give her away. She waited as she turned back human as she approached her with no fear. Keira felt like she can relate to her. "I want my husband back. Your King is helping me get as far as I can to save him." Keira face turned into pain and misery as she picked up the armor that she requested and started helping her into it. "I just hope he recognize me as I have suffer death and walked the land of the lost souls but thanks to my dear friend Orin he has brought us back to once again continue our quest."

Son, Who resides in the body of...^*^The Guardsmen^*^ --------------------- Son's eyebrow raised as he heard the man speak. Lover? He thought to himself, pondering the thought. His first immediate reaction was that the man was quite mad to even believe that he could have interacted with his mother given that he would have to be thousands of years old for that to be possible. He opened his mouth to voice the thought, but stopped himself, quickly remembering that while she was presumed dead it was possible that his mother had lived for many many years after her disappearance, given her magical gifts. He decided the only logical course of action was for him to determine if the man was a fool or told the truth.
"I think you to be a teller of tall tales sir Orin." He said, attempting not to reveal his true heritage, though he guessed the man was already suspicious of his age. "Perhaps you had too much to drink this night you met your 'sorceress.' I'm sure there are many ladies who claim to know magic when they have you in the sheets, and with a fine bit of the liquor in you it may seem the truth." He started with doubt, something to make the man feel the need to defend himself.
"But if you truly think your lass is the sorceress of legend, perhaps you can tell me what she had with her at all times?" It was a simple test, one that would check if he actually knew about his mother more than a common person. Most stories said that she wore a crown of pure magic or a robe made a pure diamonds, or other such rubbish. Only those truly close to her would know of the amulet that she always kept close. She let no other see it that she visited, so it did not appear in tales as other fantastic things had. If Orin was just a fool he would spout the common story of magical apparel, but if he knew of her amulet he would have confirmation that the man had knowledge that would be truly invaluable to him.

Alistriona stood silently as Keira helped put her armor and gear back on. She was glad to feel no stiffness as she rolled her shoulders. When most of the armor had been finished putting on, she pushed the girl away. "Thank you but i can finish putting on the rest." Alistriona said. "Call our companions back in here." Alistriona finished tightening her gauntlets on her forearms and slung her sword belt across her waist. As she was tightening it, Son and Kiera's companion Orin entered the room. She looked at Son, giving him a slight nod of thanks and focused strictly on Orin.

Son, Who resides in the body of...^*^The Guardsmen^*^ --------------------- As Son reentered the cave he saw that Alistriona was looking much recovered, for now at least. His time outside had only left him trusting the two new arrivals to the group less, but he knew that he couldn't simply ward them off or kill them without earning some disapproval from Alistriona. The one known as Orin he wished especially to take control of and rack his brain for knowledge and power, he did not know what secrets he held but he knew that they would be more helpful in securing his goals than any other at that point.
"As it stands it seems we all want to go in the same direction and find the same place." He said, looking at the other three in the cave. "As I understand it the men of the Northern Kingdom attacked here yesterday, so they cannot be too far away. Tracking the retreating survivors should be fairly easy." He knew Alistriona would have to trouble tracking their scent if she wanted to, and even if she didn't injured men tended to leave an obvious trail. "However I'm sure they will be on high alert after the losses in the battle here. We would probably all be better off traveling together for now until we get past their borders. From there we can decide if we're better suited splitting up or working toward each of our goals together." He suggested, watching to see what everyone would think. He knew he would have no problem traveling on his own if he chose to because he could simply occupy one of their soldiers bodies, but he doubted he could protect Alistriona against a platoon of soldiers even if he fought at his fullest strength. The others would prove useful, and for the time being he wanted to keep Orin close by and learn more about what secrets he held.

~Alistriona Renee McKinnon~ "I agree. We're stronger together then we are apart. If we leave now we'll have a good seven hours of traveling before the moon rises. We're sitting ducks here and it wont' be long before bandits will be coming around." Alistriona nodded. She knew that traveling so soon after a shift wouldn't be good for her in the long run but she needed something to do. She continued to study Orin for he puzzled her. She tried to reach out with her mind to see the spectrum of his powers but he didn't give anything away. I will figure him out she thought to herself. For he can not bode well for my people to have such power about him. And Keara, she is not whole either. I could smell it on her when i had shifted. She turned her mind to other matters and focused on the upcoming travels. She strode past them and began to walk through the hallways of the cave. She missed Aarvard, the light of her life, and hoped she would see him soon.
