Fendon wanted to claw the smug look off the cat girl's face. She was asking questions he didn't feel like answering. No one needed to know the why. Only that he was willing to do what no one else wanted to do. "My reasons are my own. Isn't it enough that I will actually do what so many speak of and then balk on? That I'm willing to liberate the world from that woman's rule?"

 Scarlet let out a low, breathy hiss as Linara toyed with her; being teased wasn't exactly enticing like most people. She was about to bite at the kiranu when she heard Fendon's comments, quickly changing the target of her attention. "Trust me, it's not enough information. And anyway, she doesn't rule here, so why should we get caught up in someone else's s**t storm? Seems as though Mi'lady here has what you're looking for, I'd sweeten the deal if you want to get your information."

"Do you really think that murdering wench is going to sit idly on her nation? She's already had her influence here. By losing your last Lord, you gained freedom from her!" Fendon snarled. "She'll be back though. Mark my words. She will worm her way into the mind of your new leader and then your nation will be hers as well." Fendon finally called for another drink.

Linara flashed Scarlet a grin and just stared at the werecroc as she saw Scarlet about to bite her, slightly turning and exposing her neck as if to invite Scarlet to do so while turning towards Fendon as if looking back at him; sliding her finger around the rim of the cup in thought as Scarlet spoke, she nodded silent consent and her eyes flared at Fendon's response as the Kiranu spoke, "I'm going to stand by my lover on this one, werebeast. We repelled the plague from these walls without a single scratch inside, showing the defense of this city to be extraordinary; I do not fear Lady Liliana, for if she tried to glass over the desert like she did Jiaum, we would put an end to her." As if the thought had just crossed her mind, although it had fluttered within it for minutes now after seeing Scarlet get mad, she looked over at the werecroc and just casually mentioned, "You're hot when you get mad, Scarlet. You know that?"
Turning back to Fendon as if nothing had happened and the conversation continued as normal, she said "So far, I've been told to not only create a poison but also to aid in the death of Lady Liliana all because you believe her a potential threat. If she is but a potential threat, I would much rather spend my time curing this land and Jiaum in preparation to cure whatever new land might get hit. And I'm going to take Scarlet here with me. So no, it is not enough information. "Ya, keep up that 'werebeast' talk and you'll see just how hot I can get," she grumped, crossing her arms and legs as she grabbed her mug for another drink. Scarlet wasn't really all that mad at the comment; she knew it was harmless. Anger just had a way of snowballing inside of her, and there were a lot of little details that got to her.

He was losing them. He needed a way to get them to agree to help him. Even if they were fairly retarded women. Thinking fast, Fendon stood and stripped off his shirt. Scars from lacerations and burns patterned his skin. "Does this look like the mark of only a potential threat?!" he roared. "I found out her plan and she tried to torture the memory away," he continued at a more normal volume. He knew that part to be a lie but he didn't want to expose that connection just yet. I was able to escape when she was called away for something about three or four months ago. I had been hiding in Wormwood until recently with the religious zealots' occupation. I'm out again looking for help against her so I don't have to fear going home." He sat back down, calling for something alcoholic this time.

Linara narrowed her eyes and flattened her ears, seeing Fendon's action and disliking it because how public it was with him roaring;a small frown showed itself at the scars his body as even Cynkryt and the other wilders looked over with scowls at Fendon's roar and disturbance. Some shouted for him to sit back down, others told him that his scars were nothing as they showed their own deeper and longer neck, lower back, and front scars; Linara went from scratching her head in annoyance at his public display of his body to covering her face in discontent at his obvious lie before flicking her finger towards Fendon. All of the wilders' scowls turned to knowing grins and smirks as more than half of Fendon's scars began to glow green and give off colors of various common and precious metals of the earth, the flesh seeming to grow root-like tendrils that reached out to one another and sewed themselves together before looking as if the wound there had never occurred. One of the wilders grunted as they all sat back down and turned away, "Serves you right, cub."
"Normally, I would have asked first as a lot of wilders around here carry their scars with pride...but I could not bear the sight of them on you as you seem to carry them with nothing but hatred, Fendon. Look, most of your wounds of being tortured have vanished physically, and if you wish, the rest will disappear along with it," Linara spoke simply as she took a quick sip of her mug before she asked in a tone of almost playful but knowing questioning, "So this ridiculously powerful woman finds out you know her plan, and does nothing but try to torture the thought out of you instead of killing you on the spot? Where were your friends, family, or anyone during this time span and how did she manage to take you secretly? I would hope that betrayal of that kind would reach our ears more easily."

Fendon looked at the table. "I don't have any family. My father was murdered and I have no mother. I was a ward of the state and taken in by that woman as a 'charity case'. That's how she was able to keep it quiet when I found out." Fendon wanted to smack the stupid b***h around. She believed the lie but not the truth? How retarded was she? It almost seemed useless to try and get her help. If she's this stupid, she might end up poisoning herself when she makes the poison for him.

Scarlet didn't like the werewolf's tone one bit. She could tell he was getting testy with Linara, and she was already close enough to snapping as is. One false move and she'd be at his throat in a second. Scarlet clenched her hands into fists and barred her teeth at Fendon; not as a warning, but just out of instinct. She wouldn't speak up, just watch him very closely.

Linara's face turned a little saddened at the sight of Fendon's change of heart, staring down at the table as she imagined a life without her mother and father; out of the corner of her eye she saw Scarlet's hands tighten up and the berzerker looked ready to tear Fendon apart as the Kiranu placed her hand over Scarlet's fist, "It's okay, Scarlet. Thank you for the concern." Removing her hand, her looked back up at Fendon as she leaned over the table a bit and spoke in a somewhat hushed tone, "What you are looking for is a necropotent elixir: very dangerous, very hard to gather ingredients, and more importantly...next to impossible to deliver to a seer since it must be put in food or drink. For any of us to go near it before she drinks it would be to fail and be killed before the poison can take effect."
Taking another drink, Linara frowned as the liquid had run out, looking up and at the exit to the Sky Basin as if she had just remembered something; looking back at both Scarlet and Fendon, she smiled as if they had never talked about murder and spoke as if things would be so easy, "Well, knowing that our possible opponent is pretty strong, I guess we had better get to training! As Scarlet felt Linara's hands grasp her own, she slowly began to deflate. It wasn't all at once though; she was still rather tense and continued to eye Fendon. A mission sounded good right about now. Training was usually done among peers, and Scarlet was too flustered to focus. It would be better to go out and pummel her way back to a level head than listen to teachers talk all day. "I'm down for a mission," she said, slowly loosening her hands.

It's quite pretty, don't you think?" She smiled as she watched Scarlet relax before hearing both of the werebeasts ask for a mission first. She looked back towards the door in a longing way, knowing that her trainers might be waiting for her at the very moment; looking back down at her plate, she realized that she was not going anywhere without Scarlet as is and therefore she would probably have to take Fendon with them as she had just agreed to make him a poison. "A mission...Let's see here..."
Linara's ears and eyes dropped a little as she became lost in thought, thinking of how best to go about finding a mission to keep Fendon and Scarlet from being bored; her mind immediately thought of Jiaum, the Kiranu sticking a finger in the air as if to speak before shaking her head and putting her finger back on her chin in thought. Standing up suddenly and swaying her tail once, she called out and many of the wilders looked at her with a puzzled look on their faces, "I'VE GOT IT!" As a few of the wilders shook their head and returned to their own drinks, the Kiranu smiled wide, "We can take a trip to the city of Triwind! I've heard the place crawls with darkness after Krayth did some kind of weird ritual there. I'll do my best to train along the way or something, worst case I'll train when I get back!"

Fendon squirmed a little. Triwinds was close to Wormwood. Uncomfortably close. But it gave him a chance to do something. "Sounds good to me," he said, tossing a couple coins on the table that were stained with what seemed to be very old blood. "We heading out now?"

Scarlet simply nodded to Fendon and made her way out the door. She didn't know much about Triwinds, something about that old plague or whatever. Details didn't concern the young werecroc. All she needed was a good skull to crack and she'd be happy. [exit]
