[[ The Monsters of Horror High ]]

Here at Horror High we have an archive showing the students/monsters we have here on campus to make an accurate census of the school. We like to believe that we have quite the variety here! Although some species of monsters are still new to us, we would love to find out more about them! We're still in the learning stages, but there are just so many monsters out there! We have attached to your applications for the school a form which tells us what type of monster you are! If we don't have that species in our archive, I hope you will fill us in so we can better fit your needs as a student here in Horror High.

[[ Species Application ]]

Quick Notes
+ Double Check our Species Database to make sure your entry is not a duplicate or too similar to a species already in existence.
+ If creating your own species, it must be shop-approved before registering.
+ You must have male and female or a neutral sample of the species.
+ Your species must have at least 1 official student to qualify.
+ Create Your Own Species: it will be listed alongside your username so people who would like a character of your species needs to be approved by YOU
+ Please fill out the form COMPLETELY and as best as you can. Please admins or mods for help if you are having trouble.
+ Please don't be offended if we find something wrong with your entry. We try to work closely with you as we can to make sure your species fits with our setting.
+ In this section, please be detailed! Write a lot! Please take the time so we can give quality information to the community.
+ There are no HYBRIDS allowed. When making children, it gets the species of ONE of the parents, but that child could have an offspring of their other parent.

Ex.
Mother Gorgon x Father Pumpkin King
Child is a Pumpkin King,
When Child grows up and has a baby, the baby could be a Gorgon, because that child is a carrier of the Gorgon gene.

Not sure how specific we are or aren't supposed to get, here (such as Frankenstein as a sub-class of Homunculi, Mummies as a sub-class of Undead, Bigfoot as a sub-class of Beasts, etc.), so I hope I'm doing this right...

:// Specie Registration

Species Name: Imp
Student Samples: (I won a student drawn by Geekpower in an auction and I'd like to classify him as an Imp, though I don't have his image...)
Natural Environment: the Underworld
Basic Species Traits: Typically, they're known to have red skin, horn(s) of some sort, and a forked or pointed tail. Occasionally may have wings. Usually thought to be of small size and/or stature.
Personality Traits: Generally curious, mischievous, spiteful, and trouble-making, though their intentions vary from individual to individual.
Known Facts: ((Not really sure what is meant by this, so I'll just put this here...))
History/Mythology: Possibly related to 'Horned Ones', but just as possibly related to the Fair Folk. Generally they are considered to come from the Underworld and are thus associated with negativity and malice. Thought to eb wild and uncontrollable. However, as their actions can be unpredictable, sometimes they are even helpful, so they can be considered morally ambiguous and/or amoral just like their Fair Folk cousins. This also depends on the individual.
Additional Notes: Like the Fair Folk, they are fond of pranks and misleading people. Unlike the Fair Folk, they were not considered so fair, but rather unattractive. In fact, it's thought that some Fair Folk, if kept indoors overnight, will turn into hideous imps and, rather than admiring themselves as they did once before, break every mirror and reflective object they can in order to avoid looking at themselves. Strangely, it's also thought that imps revel in their ugliness as much as the Fair Folk revel in their beauty.

:// Species Registration

Species Name:
Wendigo
Student Samples:
Babbette (Wild) and Matchitehew (Born) (Will edit with pics when I can)
Natural Environment:
Nature, typically woods. Wild Wendigos can be from anywhere, but born Wendigos tend to live in tribes deep in woods, near mountains, preferably away from humans.
Basic Species Traits:
Wild - These Wendigos typically have alternate forms. There is a monster form that looks quite far from human whereas their human form can blend in much easier. They typically teeter on the edge of their humanity unless taught otherwise.
Born - For the most part they look more human than the wild ones. Their bodies mostly maintain the humanoid appearance aside from antlers and any powers they may have. Any power should be specifically dealing with nature.
Personality Traits:
Wild - Anger, aggression, and a real short temper. These Wendigos tend to be the more violent type unless they channel this aggression towards other things.
Born - There is still a lot of aggression to be dealt with, though most can easily deal with this excess energy by doing other things. Some Wendigos may take up hunting, others may work out, some play pranks....or if they just want to try to bed down the urges they take up hobbies like pottery or beading.
Known Facts:
Wild - Born from a curse through cannibalism, when they are not raised in a constructive environment they can lose all of their humanity. When cursed, their personalty and physical appearance goes through a violent change and generally look much monstrous than their tame counterparts.
Born - Born from other Wendigos, the dilution of generations from their original curse make them more docile so long as they can invest their energy elsewhere. When born as a Wendigo they have no ability to change shape as their 'monster' and 'normal' forms have merged to one. However, their regular form looks less human than for a feral Wendigo, but stands out less than their monster form.
History/Mythology:
Native American Folklore [ x ]
Additional Notes:
As thoroughly noted; there are two types of Wendigos, some are born into a tribe and others become cursed to become a Wendigo after consuming the flesh of another human. The traits of born Wendigos vary depending on tribe beliefs so this is simply a general overview of them whereas the traits of wild Wendigos are pretty standard unless they've been a Wendigo long enough to learn to be otherwise.

Looks like LordPockey beat me to the punch, however, I wanted to be more descriptive of feral Wendigos.

:// Specie Registration

Species Name: Feral (Cursed) Wendigos
Student Samples: Babette
Natural Environment: Feral wendigos are most commonly found in the subarctic of far northern Canada. However, they can be found roaming the colder regions of the United States as well. Feral wendigos generally stick to woodland areas and live in caves or burrows. They will rarely venture out of their natural environments unless it's to feed.
Basic Species Traits: Not all feral wendigos will look the same. Their physical appearance largely depends on their state of their sanity at the point they were cursed. Feral wendigos do share some similar traits :

01) pale, blue, or purple skin and/or covered in fur
02) horns or antlers, varying in shape and texture
03) tail, claws, and sharp teeth, varying in shape and texture
04) no matter what the shape, their bodies are built for hunting prey.
05) the more they eat the more they grow. some can be as tall as 15 feet.

If a person has lost too much of their sanity, they are more likely to become true monsters rather than humanoids. Some examples of the varied appearances of feral wendigios : [x] [x] [x] [x] [x] [x] [x].
Personality Traits: Feral wendigos are violent and malevolent by nature. They are nothing more than living killing machines. Feral wendigos are driven by their insatiable hunger for human flesh. The more they eat, the more they loose their humanity. Once a feral wendigo looses it's humanity, it become insane and go on a killing spree until it's eventually killed.
Known Facts: Feral wendigos are born from curses. When a human participates in cannibalism, they become forever cursed by an evil spirit that transforms them into a monster. Despite the curse, wendigos are still considered humans as well as cannibals.

Unlike their tame counterparts, feral wendigos posses the ability to change between two forms. Their monster form and their human form. This is only possible if the feral wendigo has high enough humanity. If their humanity is too low, they lose this ability and permanently stay in monster form. There is no way to recover their lost humanity.

History/Mythology: wiki page
Additional Notes: If a feral wendigo is raise in a constructive environment, their natural tendencies towards violence can be suppressed. Their humanity also decreases much more slowly and steadily. There is no way to avoid this lose of humanity. All feral wendigos will succumb to their curse at some point of their lives.

Feral wendigos are considered highly rare, ever since the practice of cannibalism has been banned from human society for many centuries.
