Arcius continued his gaze as he listened to the Acolyte. It disgusts me how these "Overseers" think they can pick and choose. It is the Force that chooses, and all must be given opportunity to prove themselves. It is unacceptable for an Overseer to kill an Acolyte simply because they are not in their list of favorites. It is the job of Acolytes alone, through the will of the Force, to weed out the weak. I can tell you are not weak, as you have survived for 16 years, and I can only assume you have completed your Trials in such time. He turned to Solstice, a hint of pride in his eyes. That is also true, that one's skill and wits, as knowledge of the Force, is key to becoming a powerful Sith. Favoritism denies others the opportunity to show their skills, as I mentioned earlier. Was this acolyte the reason the Force pulled him here? It was true that the planet had become a shell of what it once was in power with the Force, yet still there was a strong pull that brought him here, and this acolyte seemed to affirm everything he had suspected. Perhaps there was still hope for the Academy, if there were more Acolytes like this one, more with great conviction. I will tell you this, I am not here because of some petty inspection. Yes, I am here to do such, but I could have sent the task to a lower Sith with no question, so why am I here, one may ask? The answer is simple: The Force told me to come here, so here I am. I believe I was suppose to find someone here... Someone worthy of Apprenticeship... In a flash, he pulled his lightsaber out and made for a slash towards Solstice, aiming for a decapitation.

Solstice had been expecting a strike since she made her comment about Sith Purebloods, and reacted, almost unconciously to the blow. Her saber was in her hand and ignited as she brought it up and to the side in a fluid block. "There are a few here who you may find worthy of your tutelage, Lord Arcius." The Sith was likely to be physically stronger then she was and Solstice knew this all to well, her best chance was leverage, and so she widened her stance and bent her knees only slightly to increase her balance. She did not need his saber coming any closer to her throat. She pushed back on his lightsaber so that she might breathe a little easier but made no move to attack. It was best for him to make the next move, she decided.

The Sith turned his head to face Solstice as she blocked his attack. A small smile formed as he deactivated his blade, the Force pulling it back to his belt. Indeed there are... Solstice... He fully turned towards her, crossing his arms to speak. All he really wanted out of that was to see her own reaction, and she had kept herself calm for the most part and collected, instantaneously changing her stance to adjust for better leverage. And I believe that my time here is up... As is yours... If you wish to leave, then try to keep up. He turned and strode across the courtyard to where his ship, shoving an Overseer out of his way, glaring at all the other overseers with red hot daggers. You will be getting a report by the end of this week... I expect the changes to be made immediately.

Solstice blinked slowly to hide her surprise and returned her lightsaber to her belt. She turned swiftly on her heels and followed Lord Arcius at a quick space. She did not shove any Overseers, not in a gloating mood at all. "My Lord," Solstice asked hesitantly, "Where are you. . ." she paused, "where are we going?"

Arcius walked up the boarding ramp, a swift response from him. You're coming with me on a mission. This will determine whether I made the right choice. He gave a few hand signs to the HK unit in his ship, which looked at Solstice suspiciously, before entering the crew quarters.

Solstice followed Arcius onto the ship and looked around, feeling nervous for the first time. "What kind of mission, my Lord?" she asked quietly.

Arcius stopped in his tracks, taking a moment to make sure no one was in earshot, or that someone snuck on board. The Sith then turned and replied to her question in a serious yet quieted tone. Not even I know the full logistics of this task that was set upon me. All I know is that there is an Imperial Cruiser carrying experimental equipment, and I am to assist in salvaging. As to why I specifically was summoned, I do not know, but I suspect there must be something that has the Dark Council troubled if I myself was selected to lead this. He shifted his eyes a little more before getting in the pilot's seat and starting up the ship.

Solstice looked down and fell into deep thought. The Dark Council, troubled? If that was the case there was deffinately cause for concern but her nervousness was quelled by the idea of experimental equipment. She could feel her fingers almost itching to grab hold of whatever this 'equipment' was, to snoop around and find it's secrets. What made it tick. Lust is a dangerous feeling, sometimes even more so for the mind then the body but Solstice gave little heed to this wisdom, and turned her thoughts to what she might find in this mission.
